Life is good for Olympic heart throb Ryan Lochte. The swimmer celebrated the end of an impressive London games – five medals, two of them gold – and his 28th birthday with night out at Chinawhite nightclub. Lochte partied until nearly 3:30 a.m. before piling into a taxi with friends and various female acquaintances for the ride back to the Olympic Village. Clearly, it’s good to be an Olympic champion … That’s what we call an impressive medley, or something . No word if Lochte, whose mother recently said that he does not have time for girlfriends and has ” one night stands ” instead, had one or more on this night. In any case, be sure to browse our gallery of Olympic photos for more shots of the hunk … our favorite being this shot of Ryan Lochte and Missy Franklin . [Photos: Pacific Coast News]
Makin’ it rain on them haters! Gabrielle Douglas is known as “The Flying Squirrel” in the gymnastics arena, but the teen may also be flying into some big time endorsement deals following her big win in the 2012 Olympics: The 16-year-old women’s all-around gymnastics champion, who also took home a gold medal with Team USA, inked her first deal to appear on Cornflakes cereal boxes just hours after her individual win. Experts have estimated the Olympic golden girl could bring in up to $10 million in endorsements over the next few years. “Gabby Douglas is perfect for family oriented brands that are looking for someone that portrays all of those classic Middle America values,” said Robert Tuchman, a sports marketing analyst. Douglas’ girl-next-door image could attract a variety of brands, from shoes and make-up to toothpaste and cars, analysts said. Looks like Gabby’s gold medal deals have come just in the nick of time. According to documents filed earlier this year in Virginia, her mom filed for Chapter 13. Thhe docs state Hawkins has assets totalling $163,706.10 and debt totaling $79,754.14. Her creditors include: Capital One — $1,534 Student loan — $4,350.23 Sprint — $158.78 T-Mobile — $413 Orthodontist in Iowa (where Gabby trained when she was 14) — $408 The Chapter 13 filing, Hawkins has agreed to a monthly payment plan. She began making payments of $408/month back in February … to a trustee who will divy it up among her creditors. However, with Gabby’s new found fame and the potential to bring home the bacon for years to come, it’s likely her mother will never have to worry about bankruptcy or money problems ever again. What do you think these two are thinking in this picture? Michael Phelps Defeats Ryan Lochte In 200-Meter To Win Gold Medal Michael Phelps has made more history, winning gold in the men’s 200-meter individual medley in 1:54:27. Having already established himself as the most decorated Olympian of all time, Phelps is now the first male swimmer to win three consecutive gold medals in the same event. Teammates on the U.S. swim team, Ryan Lochte and Phelps entered the race as the top two seeds after finishing 1-2 in the semifinal. They finished 1-2 in the final but the order was reversed. Lochte finished second to win silver while Lazlo Cseh of Hungary touched the wall third. One of the most hyped head-to-head rivalries before the Olympics began, the “Phelpte” drama produced a 1-1 draw. Lochte struck first, with a dominant win over his teammate in the 400-meter individual medley. Between that event and Phelps’ win in the 200-meter IM, the pair had been relay partners rather than competitors. This is Phelps’ first individual gold medal of the London Olympics and his 16th career gold medal. In London, Phelps has already won gold in the men’s 4
Ryan Lochte and K. Michelle are not two people we ever expected we’d be posting dating rumors about, but here you go, with the supposed evidence: Lochte is a hip-hop fan who rocks that sick grill , so it’s not that surprising he’d be an acquaintance of a cast member on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Here’s Ryan Lochte and K. Michelle at the NBA All-Star game together: Whether or not they’ve ever hooked up or are hooking up – Ryan Lochte’s girlfriend Blair Evans may have something to say about that – they clearly hang out. There are also shots of them partying together on other occasions, and throughout the Olympics, K. Michelle has been Tweeting about her “Pooh.” Yes, her Pooh, who has (mostly) been kicking ass … Are they actually dating? Or just friends? Friends with benefits? Who can say, but Lochte continues to be all the Olympic rage. Ryan may have a long way to go to match Michael Phelps ‘ career medal haul, but he’s right on his tail in terms of celebrity gossip attention.

Joined by series star Rupert Grint at the British Embassy’s Creative Content Summit, Harry Potter series producer David Heyman looked back on 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone , the first film in the lucrative J.K. Rowling boy wizard franchise, and revealed which parts now make him “want to cringe.” “The visual effects industry developed substantially over the 11 to 12 years of making the films. I look at some of the first film [made in 2001] and want to cringe,” he said, adding that later films in the series marked vast improvements on the screen and in the franchise’s behind the scenes technical infrastructure. Heyman also had issues with Warner Bros.’ merchandising campaign tied to the first film, reports Wired: He went on to say that for the first film there was so much merchandising that it was “shocking.” He said that he knew that Warner Bros. had gone “too far” when he saw Harry Potter toilet paper. However, since then, Warner Bros. has reined it in and produced a “really elevated, high-range program.” At least the studio didn’t go for Americanizing the very British tale — so British, Voldemort and Rowling made it into the Olympic Opening Ceremony — which Heyman says the suits wanted to do at one point: “Heyman was thankful that the movie franchise retained the Britishness of the books, after some movie execs initially considered moving the story to the United States with ‘cheerleaders and the likes’ but he said ‘that never rang true.'” [ Wired via Movie City News ]
