Now, Ray is involving himself in the legal marijuana business after signing on as an executive for a company that crowdfunds cannabis startups. TMZ reports : Sources with knowledge of the deal tell TMZ … Ray J is making $1 mil per year to get people to spend money on weed, as an executive for a cannabis crowdfunding company. Ray J signed on to become the chief strategic media officer for MarijuanaStock.org … and his new duties include making infomercials for the brand, encouraging people to invest in the burgeoning bud biz and enlightening potential investors on the possible high returns. Financially, that is. Our sources say, the company sought out Ray J because he’s super plugged into the legal weed biz … and for his long Rolodex of celeb friends. In Ray’s case, it’s what he knows AND who he knows. Ray’s manager, David Weintraub, tells us Ray was given full creative control for his new venture. Brooke Houts, a well-known YouTube personality with over 337,000 subscribers, is under major fire right now after a video went viral in which it appears she is spitting on her dog and also hitting the animal. It is very disturbing to watch. The footage was accidentally uploaded to her account, various outlets have speculated, after Houts meant to post an altered version of her “plastic wrap prank on my doberman” video. In the shocking video, viewers see Brooke smacking the innocent pooch, who is named Sphinx, multiple times. She also screams at him and forcefully shoves the canine to the ground, all while recording something for YouTube that she meant to edit into some sort of humorous post. The footage has drawn the attention of the Los Angeles Police Department. “Our Animal Cruelty Task Force has received numerous complaints about the video, an LAPD media representative told The Verge. “And we are currently looking into the matter.” As for what may have happened here? The current version of the video, which had its comments disabled and was downvoted over 27,000 times, does NOT include any of these digusting and violent clips described above. Hence why many are assuming Houts never meant to upload the original, complete version. Following the immediate and understandable outrage over the video — which we refuse to share here — Houts issued a lengthy apology and explanation on Twitter. “I want to clarify that I am NOT a dog abuser or animal abuser in any way, shape or form,” she wrote, adding: “Anyone who has witnessed or heard true animal abuse will be able to clearly see that.” Not exactly the strongest defense, that second sentence. Continued the social media user: “I want to address the uncut footage … I’m clearly actually frustrated [in the video]. That being said, this does NOT justify me yelling at my dog in the way that I did, and I’m fully aware of that. “Should I have gotten as angry as I did in the video? No. Should I have raised my voice and yelled at him? No. “However, when my 75 lb. Doberman is jumping up in my face with his mouth open, I do, as a dog parent, have to show him that this behavior is unacceptable.” The YouTube personality also claimed that she’s working on her own behavioral issues, too. “I know I’ll be in many future situations where he’s being physical, but I will not respond this way again,” she said, continuing as follows: “I am getting my dog into training, and I’m looking at ways to improve how I personally train him at home. … I know that I am a great dog mom (but not perfect)… “I’m just explaining what my day-to-day life is really like, whether you believe me or not.” Again, can’t say any of these words makes us very sympathetic to Houts. How about you? Reaction has been swift and disparaging. Heck, even disgraced YouTube star Logan Paul had harsh words for Houts, Tweeting this message: “discipline your animals should they misbehave. i get it “but despite the hitting, the spitting is a totally unwarranted, inappropriate, and vile display of energy that makes this woman completely unfit to own that dog.” Houts, of course, says she did not spit on the dog. But, hey, it’s not any of us that she needs to convince. It’s the police.

April Ryan, Andrew Gillum, Angela Rye, and Bakari Sellers all made a recent appearance together on the network during one of its morning shows, and it appears the chemistry was undeniable. Page Six reports : We’re told the cable network hopes to hire regular CNN contributors April Ryan, Andrew Gillum, Angela Rye and Bakari Sellers as panelists for a brand-new show. The plan was kicked into high gear following the positive response the group received after appearing on the network’s morning show, “New Day With Alisyn Camerota and John Berman” during the Democratic debates last week. “It was the most excitement on that morning show since Chris Cuomo left as co-anchor,” a source told us. “CNN is fast-tracking talks … to develop it into a stand-alone show. The early chatter is that it could start as a weekend show that would rival MSNBC’s programming with Joy Reid, the Rev. Al Sharpton and Kendis Gibson.” Sounds promising.
