Ronnie Ortiz-Magro: Should He Be Fired from Jersey Shore?

I was in a bad place in my life and my relationship and I acted out of anger & immature resentment… I’ve grown & wouldn’t want to hurt my girlfriend or my daughter, everyone makes mistakes and you’ll see that I learned from mine. I wouldn’t never put myself in that position again to hurt the two people I love the most in my life. I want to lead by example for my daughter and how to be a real man and I need to lead how to be a good boyfriend/husband. I’m sorry. This is what Ronnie Ortiz-Magro said in November of 2018. Fast forward nearly a year… and the Jersey Shore star was arrested for attacking Jen Harley with a knife, reportedly because he was on cocaine and allegedly while holding his 18-month old daughter in his arms. In other words: Ronnie has learned almost nothing, and changed barely at all. While there are major personal ramifcations at stake for Ronnie as a result of this incident — Will he go to jail? Will he lost custody of young Ariana? — there’s also a professional consequence. It’s about time we wonder whether Ronnie deserves to be featured on MTV any longer, don’t you think? According to various outlets, Ronnie completely flipped his $hit just  before 3 a.m. on Friday. He and Harley reportedly got into yet another screaming match, this one turning violent and dangerous for all involved. Ronnie is accused of chasing his on-again/off-again girlfriend around with a weapon and then grabbing the couple’s infant daughter and locking him inside the home the couple had been renting. When police arrived on the scene, Ronnie refused to be taken into custody… prompting authorities to use a taser in order to subdue the reality star. Photos later emerged of a shirtless Ronnie being wheeled away on a gurney while handcuffed. Is he innocent until proven guilty? Yes. But one need not be convicted of a crime to be fired from a reality program. Just ask Farrah Abraham , who was let go from Teen Mom because she starred in amateur pornography videos. Or Jenelle Evans , who was booted from the same franchise because Child Protection Services deemed her an unfit mother — even though no charges were ever filed against her. Raking in money from a cable network and garnering vast fame and fortune as a result of a role on Jersey Shore is a privilege, not a right. Ronnie doesn’t need to be a certified criminal for producers to decide that his time on the series has run its course. So… should they make this call? Has Ronnie’s contentious relationship with Harley — which has included multiple arrests at this point, as well as very ugly fights over social media — created a situation in which Ortiz-Magro is simply too poisonous of a presence to employ? He’s a father, remember. There’s an innocent little girl in the middle of all this, someone who may sadly have to read about her parents awful exploits online because they’re featured on a popular television show. Jesus Take The Wheel: Florida Woman Attempted To Kill Children In Car Crash After Believing She Was Cursed

Source: Joe Raedle / Getty A Flordia Mom Allegedly Tried To Kill Her Kids Because She Believed She Was Cursed According to the Ocala Times , a Florida mom is accused of telling her four kids to take off their seatbelts before crashing into a tree. She is now facing four counts of domestic attempted murder. Calicia Williams was allegedly driving erratic before she crashed into a tree after striking a curb and traveling across a grassy median. Members from Ocala Fire Rescue advised officers that none of Williams’ children were wearing seat belts belts during the accident. When officials arrived, Williams was observed making “”spontaneous utterances while her children were being treated by paramedics. People on the scene reported that Williams was traveling at a high rate of speed and had told the children to take off their seatbelts and stretch out their hands. She also reportedly yelled out “The devil can’t hurt you. He only hurts bad people. You have the light of Jesus in you and only Jesus can cure us.” The children sustained injuries consistent with not wearing seatbelts or proper restraints and their condition is unknown. Williams will be transported to the Marion County Jail once released from the hospital.

Entrepreneur Creates ‘Raising Black Millionaires’ Flashcards To Teach Youth About Building Wealth

In an effort to teach children about the importance of entrepreneurship and building wealth, a Black-owned media company based in New Orleans created a flashcard game that highlights the journeys of Black millionaires and billionaires, the Chicago Defender reported. Each card includes the individual’s backstory and the awards and accomplishments that they’ve made throughout their careers. Entrepreneur Thiah Veona Muhammad , who created the cards, believed it was important for children to see examples of Black wealth outside of the entertainment and sports industries. “I think it’s imperative that we, as Black people, know who our millionaires and billionaires are, more specifically those who are in business and are non-entertainers/athletes,” Muhammad said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “Showing them real examples of people who look like them, making millions in various industries will not only help them to identify themselves as people of greatness, but it will introduce them to industries that they likely have never been exposed to before, giving them more career choices.” Amongst the business moguls featured in the deck are Janice Bryant Howroyd and Pamela J. Booker . She hopes that parents and educators will use the cards as a tool to educate and empower Black youth. This isn’t the first educational tool that Muhammad has created for African American parents and children. In 2015 she released a book titled How to Raise Your Black Child to Be a Millionaire: Child-rearing Secrets of the Black Elite and she also launched a blog that features lessons about financial literacy and wealth creation that can be implemented in the household and the classroom. The company also has a Raising Black Millionaires podcast where Muhammad leads candid conversations with African American millionaires on how their parents helped guide them towards success. Many Black entrepreneurs have created educational products to empower the youth. African American inventor Elliott Eddie created The Entrepreneur Game to teach children what goes into running a business. The facility offers a wide spectrum of services including diagnostic exams, dermatology, wellness visits, and hospice care. Dr. Jones—who discovered her passion for helping animals at a young age—says she wants to utilize the Cleveland Veterinary Clinic as an avenue to push animal health care forward and establish the clinic as a go-to veterinary facility in Cleveland. “I feel like it’s a great opportunity here in Cleveland, especially there being no other vet hospitals here,” she said in a statement. “There are tons of people with pets, we’re in the health tech corridor. I mean, this is where quality medicine is discovered and done, and I want to be a part of that.” For the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate, opening up the Cleveland Veterinary Clinic was about more than her passion for animal health care; its about representation. Dr. Jones hopes her journey will inspire Black youth to pursue careers in veterinary medicine. She mentors youth and other women of color who are interested in stepping into the field. “I’m hoping to uplift the community both physically and emotionally, health wise by taking care of their pets, but … also bringing a sense of pride and a sense of accomplishment,” she said. “I want to be able to show other [young minorities] that they can do it, anything that they dream of, because here is a Black woman that’s come into this community and made it happen.” Black entrepreneurs are breaking barriers in the medical field. Cassandra Waldon, Groundbreaking Big Brother Contestant, Dead at 56

Very sad news today out of the reality television universe: Cassandra Waldon, a memorable CBS personality who became the first-ever Big Brother contestant to enter the house on the U.S. version of this program, has been killed. She was 56 years old. According to TMZ, the outlet that broke this sad piece of news, Waldon passed away on September 25 from injuries related to a car accident in Rome. A source at the United Nations — where Cassandra worked — tells the celebrity gossip website that the ex-reality star struck by a vehicle about two months ago, suffering a head injury in the process. Tragically, she never regained consciousness before her death. The standout former Big Brother contestant is now being remembered and mourned by those who knew who well. And those who remember her run way back in the day. Host Julie Chen, for instance, wrote the following on Instagram: “Thank you for bringing your intelligence, warmth and wisdom to the Big Brother house Season 1.” In the end, Weldon finished sixth out of 10 houseguests. In the history of the U.S. version of Big Brother, no contestant who entered the home first has ever come out on top. The same actually holds true for the Canadian version. Prior to her passing, Weldon worked at the UN as its Director of Communications for the International Fund for Agricultural Development. She was living and working in Rome when the crash took place. Fans of Big Brother are also speaking out on social media about this tragedy. “Sad news, Cassandra Waldon of Big Brother 1 passed away last month,” one fan wrote, adding: “She worked at the U.N. at the time she was on the show, and was well-liked by her roomies and viewers alike.” Added another: “Such a shame… She was my favorite contestant on season one. She was so thoughtful and smart.” Added Chen in her tribute: “Your light will continue to shine in this world because of the way you lived your life: with class and grace… You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. May God Bless your soul.” TMZ reports that told her funeral will be held next weekend in her home state of Maryland. May she rest in peace.
