Kerry Washington Stars In New ABC Series “Scandal” [TRAILER]

Read this article:

Kerry Washington stars in ABC’s new television series “Scandal,” created by Shonda Rhimes of “Grey’s Anatomy” fame. She stars as Olivia Pope, a professional crisis manager who formerly worked for the President as his media relations consultant. Here’s a quick synopsis: “Pope dedicates her life to protecting and defending the public images of our nation’s elite. After leaving the White House, the power consultant opened her own firm, hoping to start a new chapter—both professionally and personally—but she can’t seem to completely cut ties with her past.” The series is based on real-life Washington-based PR guru Judy Smith – former White House press aide under President George H. Bush, who also counseled Monica Lewinsky and Michael Vick, and worked on the prosecution of former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry. Love her. We will definitely be giving this show a chance. Since Nicki Minaj burst onto the scene her buttocks have been the topic of many conversations. Is it real? Did she get butt injections? Why is it so big? These are just some of the questions people and fans want answers to. While Nicki doesn’t address those inquiries she does say: “I don’t mind the questions, I don’t mind the fascination. It’s all good. I mean…but I’ve said this before, it doesn’t define me. So, I try my best not to focus my energy on it. Like, if you guys focus energy on and spend energy on it, I don’t mind it. You know, people are sitting in the barbershop talking about my butt, it’s conversational. That’s what people are gonna do. For The iStans: Apple Announces The New iPad 2!

Here we go Apple Stan’s get your credit cards ready! Apple CEO Steve Jobs briefly emerged from his medical leave and walked on stage to standing ovation Wednesday to unveil the second generation of the popular iPad, which will go on sale March 11 in the U.S. Jobs looked frail as he appeared in his signature black mock turtleneck, blue jeans and wire-rimmed glasses. “We’ve been working on this product for a while, and I just didn’t want to miss today,” Jobs said. “Thank you for having me.” The next-generation tablet computer has a faster processor than the original iPad’s. As expected, it comes with two cameras for taking photos and video chatting. The battery life will be the same as the original — about 10 hours of usage and a month on standby. The iPad 2 is also thinner — 8.8 millimeters instead of the current 13.4 millimeters. “The new iPad 2 is actually thinner than your iPhone 4,” Jobs said. The original iPad, which burst onto the scene last April, was more popular than analysts imagined. Apple sold 15 million in nine months. The iPad was used for checking e-mail, surfing the Web, watching online video and other personal media tasks, but as the number of small applications designed just for iPad grew, the tablet made itself at home in offices, shops, restaurants and countless other professional and hobbyist settings. “The hits just keep on coming.”, “The rich get richer.”, etc, etc… Source

Skylar Grey On Her Role In Dr. Dre’s ‘I Need A Doctor’

Singer/songwriter also discusses her newfound, post-Grammy performance fame with ‘RapFix Live.’ By D.L. Chandler, with reporting by Sway Calloway Skylar Grey Photo: MTV News Ever since her breakout performance on the 2011 Grammy Awards alongside Eminem and Dr. Dre, singer/songwriter Skylar Grey has exploded onto the scene and shows no signs of letting up. The 25-year-old Wisconsin native joined “RapFix Live” on Thursday afternoon after the world premiere of Dre’s video for “I Need a Doctor,” which features the dark-haired beauty’s urgent and haunting vocals. MTV News asked the red-hot songstress about her role in Dre’s new video for the second single from his final opus, Detox, but not before pointing out Skylar’s newfound notoriety. “Ever since the Grammy performance, we’ve been bombarded with people wanting to work with me, and interviews. It’s been pretty crazy,” Grey said. We asked the buzzing young vocalist about her role in the dramatic and epic video, in which she appears as a ghostly apparition. “My role in the video is not necessarily what you would expect,” shared Skylar. “I play a doctor, but it makes sense because I’m the rehabilitation doctor and [I’m] kind of bringing Dr. Dre back to life.” While Grey doesn’t consider herself an actor, she praised both Eminem and Dre for their performances in the video. “I thought that they were good, really good,” Skylar said. “I’ve seen Em do cameos in movies, and well, Em did ‘8 Mile,’ and I think he’s really talented in that area.” Grey is currently working with Alex da Kid on her debut album. It’s Official:Heroes Cancelled by NBC

Some of you will cry, some of you will jump for joy. But nothing will change this fact: Heroes has finally been canceled, says The Hollywood Reporter. You’ve all heard the story before: Heroes burst onto the scene with critical praise and outer-space ratings, but began a sharp decline just before its Season 1 finale that seemed to last forever. Critics say poor writing and acting are what doomed the show, but Heroes simply failed to work after its infancy. Just this morning the Peacock net announced its plans to run with The Cape, their much-talked-about superhero saga—sound familiar much?! It even stars sci-fi sexpot Summer Glau, so bonus points from the get-go. NBC reportedly planned of bringing the cult fave back for a final miniseries-type of sendoff and as a consolation for Heroes fans, but with countless buzzworthy pickups on the schedule next season, Heroes did not stand a chance. Until then, let’s fill up the comments section with fond farewells, harsh good riddances, and “meh”s. It’s Official:Heroes Cancelled by NBC is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Lilly Scott and Michelle Delamor Lead Night of Wobbly Women on American Idol

Before we break down each American Idol performance from the first night of live auditions, we must say: The judges seem confused. They chose a slew of Taylor Swift-like guitar players, laid back contestants (Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox , Janell Wheeler, etc.) with a quiet sound, and then complained last night when the women played to their strengths. Simon continually said he didn’t have any “Wow!” moments, but, in many ways, he didn’t select any “Wow!” contestants for the semifinals. Below, in descending order, we rank our favorite performers from the evening: Lilly Scott : Played with the arrangement on “Fixin’ A Hole” by the Beatles and stood out with her original sound/look. Comes across as a “real, indie artist,” as Randy said. Michelle Delamor : Almost seems like a professional singer already. We wouldn’t have chosen an Alicia Keys song because it sets the bar too high, but Delamor can wail. If this is an actual singing competition, based on the best voice, she’s the best woman. Siobhan Magnus : Different, dark, we liked her version of “Wicked Game” a lot. Falls somewhere between the acoustic players mentioned above and Delamor. Crystal Bowersox : We can’t get enough of the harmonica, but that alone won’t be enough to carry her to the title. Katelyn Epperly : Didn’t like the look. As Ellen said, she was trying too hard. But nice, blues-like version of a Beatles song. Didi Benami : The perfect song choice (“The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson), but what will her range be like? Seems like this is the exact performance she’ll put on every week. Paige Miles : The biggest surprise of the night, only because we scarcely saw her on previous weeks. A great voice. Janell Wheeler : Attempted to go outside of her comfort zone and rock out to Heart’s “What About Love.” Points for trying, at least. Katie Stevens : We agree with the judges. You’re adorable. Choose songs that are younger and more fun. But amazing pipes. Ashley Rodriguez : Shockingly in danger already. But unless fans want nothing but Swift wannabes, will give this potential rocker another chance. Haeley Vaughn : Just awkward all around, from her look to her version of “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” Lacey Brown : Atrocious. WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE PERFORMER ON THE NIGHT?

Adam Lambert Rips Into Susan Boyle

They were linked throughout 2009 as artists that burst onto the scene and captured the heart of music fans in wholly contrasting ways: Adam Lambert was loud, in your face, sexy, gay, proud and confident. Susan Boyle was quiet, timid, reliant on an opera-like voice that’s been hidden inside a (let’s face it) ugly body. Both released debut albums in November, with Boyle’s breaking records and dominating the charts for months. Lambert’s fared well, but it didn’t stand out in nearly the same way. Now, Adam has ripped into the Scottish singer, saying in a recent interview : If only it weren’t for Susan Boyle! I’m happy for her success, but that album is terrible. “Wild Horses” is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song! We’re enormous fans of Lambert and have defended him against critics since his run on American Idol . But it’s hard to have any reaction to these comments aside from: Bitter much?!? Lambert’s honest and open attitude is a major appeal, but anyone can go too far. When the target is a singer who has outsold him by millions, the attack just seems fueled by jealousy and pettiness. There’s plenty of room on the charts for you and Susan, Adam. Just relax, keep making great music and have no doubt that you’ll be around for many, many years.

Happy Birthday, Sarah Palin!

As celebrity birthdays go, this one is particularly special to us. You betcha, Sarah Palin turns 46 today! Hopefully she remembered to write a note on her hand ! Since bursting onto the scene in 2008, Sarah has been a lightning rod, becoming one of the most popular and unpopular figures in politics simultaneously. That’s a tough feat, and despite her resignation as Governor of Alaska last year, we don’t imagine we’ve seen the last from her on a major political stage. Some people want her to run for President. Others want her to run away somewhere – anywhere – and never come back. Either way, she gets people talking! Here’s a little birthday tribute of Sarah Palin pictures . Click to enlarge! Should Sarah Palin run for President?

Leona Lewis Confuses Me

Ever since Leona Lewis has come onto the scene I’ve been having trouble saying that she’s hot, sometimes she’s gorgeous, but on occasion I find myself looking for an Adam’s apple. Either way she’s got a nice big pair of boobies and that’s pretty much all I’m looking for
