I don’t know what Eva Longoria is doing here in her padded bra, standing all tall, doing some strong man pose, but she may be dancing, something so many Mexicans before her know all too much about, cuz they didn’t get sucked into the white community they lived in, they didn’t have the opportunities this first generation had, they had to risk their lives and crawl across the border in some half assed man made shit, only to realize, living in Mexico was better than living in the USA, cuz at least in Mexico you didn’t have to strip to pay for your half black baby’s formula, you could work at the Volkswagen plant. I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I know it’s some deep rooted Mexican resentment for all Mexicans who have made it, especially when they make me want to fuck them, cuz between you and me, Mexican girls are the fucking worst, no matter how Hollywood they pretend to be….
‘It turns me on to stare someone deep in their eyes,’ she tells MTV News of looking out at the crowd during California Dreams Tour. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Katy Perry Photo: MTV News Katy Perry is currently on her California Dreams Tour, inspiring fans with anthems like “Firework.” But, as it turns out, Perry is just as inspired by her fans as they are by her. “It turns me on to stare someone deep in their eyes,” she tells MTV News of looking out into the audience every night on her tour. “Sometimes I see all kinds of emotions. It’s a lot of emotion. “It’s lovely, too, because I love people that are passionate about life and music in general,” she continued. “Music has been such a helping tool for me to get through so many things. That’s why I write a lot of times, is to continue to evolve as a person, and I can see the same thing has happened with other people; they’ve just adopted the song for themselves.” What’s also inspiring Perry these days is outer space. She headed out of this world for her just-released “E.T.” video , and she credits her new wave of fans for finally embracing the pop singer, allowing her the opportunity to be truly creative. “It’s pretty exciting that I have the opportunities now to work with great directors and have 100 percent of my voice heard,” she said. “That’s always been the challenge as an artist, is for other people to jump onboard and see your vision correctly. And that’s why, sometimes, it’s hard for me to break out, especially on other labels, because my vision was always so strong, and I think with Teenage Dream, the record on a whole, I knew I wanted to give so many different flavors, so many different ideas and just make a different movie for each song, and I feel like I’ve done that.” Which Katy Perry song inspires you? Struggling with repeated worries can be a real challenge. The following prayer invites God to calm and guide those who struggle with anxiety. Worry is a continuous pattern of ineffective thought. Worrying is unresolved thought that leaves you unproductive. “God of power, calm my mind. Let me rest in You. Ease my anxiety, and let me simply be- quiet and peaceful in your arms. Amen.” Your worry prevents you from acting, because when you are worrying, you miss the opportunities that you would see if you were not so focused on your fear. If you ever watched a dog chasing it’s tail, then you can understand how worrying is an endless cycle. Worrying will not bring you a single token of resolve, it’s fruitless, worrying takes you out. ‘America didn’t think that,’ latest castoff tells MTV News of Jennifer Lopez calling her the ‘D’ word. By Jim Cantiello Ashthon Jones Photo: MTV News If there’s one thing Ashthon Jones learned from her brief-but-memorable journey on “American Idol,” it’s that America does not take kindly to the word “diva.” “Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez called Ashthon the “D” word while raving about her semifinal performance, Monica’s “Love All Over Me,” but the Nashville native quickly realized that the term carries some negative connotations. “When J.Lo said it, I understood what she was talking about. You know how Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Whitney were divas but they were divas in a positive way? They were sweet and humble backstage, but when they got on the stage, they [showed] the world that they could do it,” Jones told MTV News on Monday (March 14). “America didn’t think that,” she laughed before sassily snapping her fingers. ” ‘Diva! Diva alert! … She thinks she’s all that!’ I was like, ‘Noooo!’ Nobody ever got to know the real me.” Ironically, Ashthon first made an impression on “Idol” for being anything but a diva. Jones lent her support to Hollywood Week group member Ashley Sullivan, who cracked under the pressure and threatened to walk off the show. In fact, Jones’ patience and positivity in Hollywood was in sharp contrast to other “Idol” singers’ backstabbing and whining. “That’s how we were. We prayed together. We grabbed each other, ‘Come on let’s pray.’ I’m a firm believer of spirituality and faith, and that’s how I live my life,” she said. Apparently, “Idol” fans have a very short memory. Jones acknowledges that picking a lesser-known Diana Ross song didn’t do her any favors, but she suggested the diva label may have been the big thing that kept viewers from getting to know the real Ashthon Jones With a Silent H (which might as well stand for “humble”). “When I get on the stage, I have to ask God for confidence,” she admitted. “You can’t be timid on ‘American Idol,’ because you’re gonna go home. I went home, but I went home top 13,” she said, proud of her accomplishments. Jones is champing at the bit to put more music out and hopes the connections made on “Idol” won’t go to waste. “Oh my goodness, if [Jimmy Iovine’s producers] call me? I can’t wait to see who I’m going to work with. I don’t know what the opportunities are, but I have a good feeling in my spirit that something’s gonna happen. This can’t be it.” Catch more of Ashthon’s interview with MTV News “American Idol” expert Jim Cantiello on “Idol Party Live,” following Thursday’s results show on MTV.com! The stars were on hand for the unveiling of a new gym at the Boys & Girls Club of Los Angeles on Saturday. By Steven Roberts, with reporting by Rahman Dukes Jay-Z and LeBron James attend the “Two Kings” charity event on Saturday Photo: Getty Images LOS ANGELES — On Saturday afternoon, many of the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Los Angeles had the opportunity to meet and greet Jay-Z and NBA superstar LeBron James. More importantly, however, those same children will now be able to enjoy a completely renovated gym featuring a mural by esteemed artist and L.A. native Mr. Cartoon — and, hopefully, received some added inspiration to achieve their dreams — thanks to Jay and LeBron’s Two Kings charity and its co-sponsor, the Coca-Cola Company’s Sprite brand. The renovation was the first under Coca-Cola’s Sprite Spark Parks Project , which plans to completely renovate more than 100 neighborhood spaces, including parks, fields and basketball courts. MTV News caught up with the rap icon and the basketball superstar at the gym’s unveiling, which was held in conjunction with the NBA All-Star Weekend. Jay said he and James continue to give back because they were once just like those children in the room. “We are those kids that didn’t have those opportunities, and luckily lightning struck for us,” explained Jay. “We happened to be in the right place at the right time, with God-given talent. … Some other people need help and opportunity, so it’s empathy. I am you. I’ve been in the same place that these kids have been.” Jay said the Two Kings charity started out because he and James wanted to utilize the financial clout of some of the people with whom they were doing business. They wanted to be more than paid endorsers smiling with a soft-drink can. They wanted to use their opportunities to achieve something positive. “We wanted to take this relationship and do some good,” maintained Jay. “Take all these people and put them in a room. Take their power and influence and use them, but use them in a good way to effect good all over.” This is the third consecutive year that Jay-Z and James’ charity has hosted such an event during NBA All-Star Weekend. In 2009, Two Kings donated 150 instruments to the music program at Mesa Arts Academy in Mesa, Arizona. And last year, the two celebrities led a mentoring session at the East Dallas Club of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dallas in Texas. In addition, Sprite has provided scholarships to top-performing students on their behalf. Related Photos Jay-Z, LeBron James At ‘Two Kings’ Charity Event In L.A. Related Artists Jay-Z
I love this shit, even if it looks like just another gully girl getting fucked by a white man for money, …cuz I know this bitch isn’t gully at all, this bitch is from a famous dad, raised surrounded by white folk, upper class upbringing with all the opportunities available from good schooling, to connections that could get her anywhere she wanted to be, but instead she does porn. It’s obviously some kind of rebellion and not her tapping into her poor roots but whatever the psychology behind this is, I’m loving it. I also love this shit cuz it’s just a sign of the times, where 20 year old girls and probably girls younger, are thinking the key to success isn’t education or hard work, it’s getting naked and fucked on camera, cuz when you are naked and fucked on camera, people notice…. This is only a taste of what’s to come and I’m glad I’m on the front lines…. If you want more on this Montana Fishburne staged scandal to try to get some celebrity and male attention cuz daddy was too busy being famous give her enough hugs, keep checking back, cuz as more information comes out, I will post it…. ‘He’s made the connection with the people,’ the Houston rapper says of ‘Hottest Breakthrough MC’ nominee. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Shaheem Reid Bun B Photo: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images Top-five “Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010” pick Wiz Khalifa has been on the grind for a while but appears poised to own the first year of the decade with his buzzy mixtape Kush & OJ. The tatted-up Pittsburgh rapper has been steadily building a loyal fanbase, layering his languid flow over spacey beats and collaborating with fellow “Hottest Breakthrough MC” nominee Curren$y . Among those checking for Wiz this year is Houston O.G. Bun B, who said the rising MC is close to making it really big in the hip-hop game. “I think he’s just really that one song away from actually cracking because he’s made the connection with the people,” Bun B told MTV News about the “Taylor Gang” MC. Bun said that Khalifa’s innovative hustle, like many other young hip-hop artists, really makes use of the outsize marketing power of the Web to score fans. “It used to be you make a song and put it out and then try to connect with [the] people, but now, there’s a whole new D.I.Y. movement going on in independent music, especially in hip-hop,” Bun observed. “These young cats are taking full advantage of the opportunities with YouTube and Twitter and all these other different viral video outlets that the Internet [has] and they’re making it happen.” Bun isn’t the only lyrical heavyweight with Khalifa on his radar. Rick Ross singled out Wiz and his sometime partner-in-rhyme Curren$y for the remix to his lush summer jam, “Super High.” Wiz recently talked to Mixtape Daily about how it feels to have the Miami boss in his corner. “It was a good look for me, because hasn’t been nobody really big, anybody who’s as influential in the game right now as Ross is, saying, ‘I really f—s with Wiz,’ or, like, been seen on camera with me. That was a big power move for the both of us [Curren$y and Khalifa].” MTV News will be rolling out the top-five candidates for “Hottest Breakthrough MCs of 2010” all week — with the winner being revealed on MTV2’s “Sucker Free Summit” on Sunday at noon!
