Lindsay Lohan has just signed on to play Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime movie, much to the chagrin of Rosie O’Donnell . The actress is thrilled about the opportunity. In fact, she’s felt a kinship with the late Hollywood legend before. In 2006, at age 19, Lindsay posed as Taylor, who passed away in 2011, for Interview magazine in photos taken by Karl Lagerfeld – including a cover shot. Take a look at the striking resemblance below … The shots are powerful, with Lohan managing to capture much of Taylor’s vulnerability and beauty, traits that helped win her the role in the Lifetime film. Of course, this was before Lindsay Lohan’s plastic surgery and/or hard-partying ways altered her appearance drastically. But that’s neither here nor there. It has not been revealed who will star opposite Lohan as Richard Burton in Liz & Dick , but the 25-year-old actress is heavily insured and raring to go.
‘The tempo and vibe they are coming from is unlike anything else that is happening in bass music right now,’ Skrillex says of Koan Sound. By Akshay Bhansali Kill The Noise Photo: Getty Images What makes Skrillex particularly exciting is his willingness to try new things, much as he did when collaborating with Benny Benassi and Gary Go on their “Cinema” remix, with the remaining members of the Doors on their track “Breaking a Sweat” and with “Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley on the upcoming single “Make It Bun Dem.” His label, OWSLA, has shed light on a versatile collection of non-cookie-cutter EDM rock stars like Porter Robinson, Zedd and Dillon Francis. So when Skrillex recently offered to introduce MTV News to two new acts, we jumped at the opportunity. First up was Jake Stanczak (stage name Kill the Noise). “He’s been DJing for a while now and been in so many different projects in the drum-and-bass scene. I feel like he’s finally found this really incredible sound that’s his own. Not to say that he hasn’t had his sound before.” Kill the Noise has heater remixes for Kanye West and Estelle, Rye Rye, and Yelawolf, and collaborated with Skrillex, 12th Planet, Datsik and Korn, in addition to his own series of successful bass singles. Throughout their friendship, Skrillex has been an ardent supporter of KTN, with OWSLA putting out his last EP, Kill Kill Kill , among other remixes. “We’ve been working hard,” KTN said. “I started sending him demos and then that’s really kind of been my inspiration, is getting feedback from him, and obviously the rest of these guys too,” he said, pointing to Koan Sound beside him. “But Sonny [Skrillex] has really kind of pushed me along.” “And this is Koan Sound,” Skrillex said, indicating Jim Bastow and Will Weeks, a pair of Bristol, U.K., DJ/producers. “Theirs is an exciting, novel form of EDM: It’s funky. It’s hype. And it’s slow. Like, 100bpm-slower-than-Moombahton slow, but in an exceptional way. “They are just so incredibly talented,” Skrillex said. “They come from Bristol. It’s a really musical, kind of artistic city in the U.K., and the tempo and vibe they are coming from is unlike anything else that is happening in bass music right now. … It’s like hip-hop, and it’s slow and it’s got this really fresh vibe, where you can rock a rager and a pool party.” “This is our first real tour in America,” Weeks said of their recent trip to Miami Music Week. “The reception we’ve been getting is pretty amazing. The stuff we released on OWSLA [ Funk Blaster EP] just goes off!” “It’s kind of mind-blowing,” Bastow said. “People recognize it instantly. That always encourages you, when you go to places that you’ve never been before and play to crowds that you’ve never played to before and they already know you’re music.” Fans can expect Skrillex and Damian Marley to release “Make It Bun Dem” soon, and new EPs for both Kill the Noise and Koan Sound will likely be served up by OWSLA this summer. And Skrillex will leave the music completely in the hands of its creators. “I do nothing but make sure their vision is exactly what their vision is,” Skrillex said, “because as soon as you f— with that, [that’s] the minute it’s not what you want them for. Both of these guys, I love them because they are making the tunes they make.” “Honestly, that’s what I love about OWSLA,” Weeks confessed. “Anything I send these guys, they take on board, and they just love anything I send them. I can be as creative as I want to be, which is perfect for being a producer.” Related Artists Skrillex
‘You sort of go with it and wait until somebody calls cut,’ actress tells MTV News of the ‘general chaos’ on set of the Sacha Baron Cohen flick. By Fallon Prinzivalli Sacha Baron Cohen and Anna Faris in “The Dictator” Photo: Paramount When MTV News spoke with Anna Faris about her role in the upcoming film, it was everything you’d expect from an interview with the comic actress. Her humorous disposition led to quite a few laughs while we got the scoop on her latest flick. In the movie, Faris plays Zoey, a liberal idealist with a good heart who runs an organic, vegan grocery store in Brooklyn. When she meets General Aladeen (Baron Cohen) at a protest, she thinks he’s a refugee and jumps at the opportunity to help him. When we spoke to the “Scary Movie” actress, she opened up about the challenges of her role (in particular having to grow out her underarm hair), Baron Cohen’s stunt at the 2012 Academy Awards and his crazy antics on set. MTV : Zoey is a physical departure from your usual leading-lady roles in films like “The House Bunny” and “What’s Your Number?” What was it that led you to choose this script? Anna Faris : I’ve been such a big fan of Sacha’s for years and I just jumped at the opportunity to get to work with him. I was just thrilled. That was really exciting for me. I love, in general, just getting to transform myself for characters. That’s really an exciting process for me. When they presented me with a more androgynous look, I thought that was just perfect. You know, this is the kind of girl that the dictator has never met before. He’s used to sleeping with models and actresses, these really stunning women, so for a while he thinks that I’m a boy. MTV : Was there anything challenging for you about the role? Faris : Not so much the role, but the project was really challenging because Sacha and his whole crew, all the writers and our director, they’ve worked together for so long and they do so much improv. It’s like 90 percent improv, and so the challenge was just keeping up with that as an actor, just being on your toes. I found it really hard, but also really exciting. MTV : Of course, we have to ask: What was it like working with Baron Cohen? Faris : It was amazing. He’s just this sort of crazy genius. You just have to be prepared for anything. The scene [can go] in a gazillion different directions and you just have to sort of roll with the punches. But it was great, I loved it. I just adore him. He was in character a lot of the time, but when he wasn’t, he’s a really kind gentleman — really intellectual and very funny. I just adored him. MTV/b> : You said he was in character most of the time. Would you approach him in character as well? Faris : [ Laughs ] Yeah, I kind of would! Like, “OK, wait, is this the…? Oh, wait, he’s the supreme leader.” It was a little tricky for me because my character isn’t supposed to know that he’s a dictator. So I was like, “Well, do I then? Maybe? I don’t know? I’ll just go to craft services.” MTV : With all the improvisation, did you have a hard time keeping a straight face on set? Faris : Yeah, a lot of times! I mean, I feel really fortunate that I had the “Scary Movie” experience because I feel like that sort of prepared me for a lot of the general chaos of the set of “The Dictator,” so I just felt like you sort of go with it and wait until somebody calls cut. Until then, you just keep acting. MTV : He’s known to make people uncomfortable, like his stunt at the Oscars where he poured fake ashes on Ryan Seacrest. Did he ever do anything that made you think, “OK, where is the nearest exit? How can I escape this?” Faris : [ Laughs ] No! He was actually so sweet to me. I sort of escaped all that. But he was always, you know, such a gentleman. I didn’t know what it was going to be, but I did know that something was sort of afoot for the Oscars. And my husband [Chris Pratt] and I went and I saw Sacha, and I was like, “Honey, we just need to steer clear. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but let’s just sort of avoid Sacha.” MTV : Do you have a favorite memory from shooting? Faris : There’s a scene where Sacha and I are sort of forming our friendship in an intimate way, [ laughs ] and that’s really fun. I had to grow my armpit hair for the movie. MTV News : How was that? Faris : It was awful! I was so naive about it too. I was like, “Yeah, I’ll grow it out. No big deal.” MTV News : Did your husband say anything about it? Faris : He was such a good sport about it. He was like, “Yeah, honey! You do it. Just go.” But he also didn’t have to be around me too much that summer. I thought it would be, you know, fluffy and light, I guess. But it was so dark and thick and coarse. It was crazy. I felt very self-conscious about it. Maybe I was a little bit of a baby about it. MTV News : Before we sign off, can you tell us your favorite joke? Faris : Oh, my favorite joke! OK, let’s see. A little boy and his grampa … wait, oh no, I won’t tell you that one. It’s a little raunchy. But I will tell you this one: There’s two blondes and there’s a river in between them and one blonde says to the other blonde, “Hey, how do I get to the other side?” And the other blonde says, “You’re already there!” Yep. This is about as cute as it gets. A video making the online rounds this week reveals a special moment for a young family. When it came time to tell their daughter that they’re expecting another baby, the parents used a t-shirt reading “I’m the Big Sister” to share the joyous news. It takes awhile to get the message across, and thus the video goes on for several minutes. When she figures it out, though, the precious reaction is worth the wait: Little Girl Learns Baby News
The best looking, least irritating member of the Kardashian family turns 33 years old today. That’s right, Kourtney Kardashian is celebrating a birthday, which may come as a surprise to many because – unlike her sisters – we haven’t been hearing a great deal about Kourtney. No Las Vegas party appears to be planned, no talk show appearances are in the works, she isn’t talking incessantly about procreating. She’s simply doing it . Indeed, aside from her questionable taste in men ( Scott Disick ? Really?!?), Kourtney seems downright normal, reserved and attention-shy, at least when compared to other members of her family. She even has a really cute son. So we’re happy to send our birthday wishes to this reality star and we encourage readers to do the same. And, in THG fashion, we’ll honor the birthday gal with a photo montage. Click, enlarge and enjoy…

‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ singer Kimbra jokes that she probably won’t appear in any sketches on late-night comedy show. By Jocelyn Vena Kimbra Photo: MTV News Looking for some moody music to set the tone this Saturday night? Well, Kimbra and Gotye have your back. The chart-topping duo are set to perform their heartbreaking track “Somebody That I Used to Know” this week on “Saturday Night Live” as the show’s musical guests. When Kimbra stopped by the MTV Newsroom on Friday (April 13), just one day before her late-night performance, she opened up about the opportunity to hit the stage in the famed studio. ” ‘Saturday Night Live’ is going to be great. I’m really excited,” she said. “We’ve had a few rehearsals. It’s really cool to just get a feel of the whole vibe. I’ve heard such great stuff about the experience. It’s gonna be awesome.” While many musical artists have joined in the fun of appearing in comedy sketches on the show, Kimbra admits she won’t be cracking any jokes this weekend. “Not that I know of! I hope not. That would be fun, but I’m not very funny!” the native New Zealander shared, noting that she’s mostly only watched clips online. “I haven’t seen all that much of the show. I’ve seen little bits here and there. I know Tina Fey used to be on it. It looks so much fun. It’s gonna be great. “I think ‘SNL’ is so well-known for its musical performances, as well, and people really breaking into America through a really great performance on there,” she added. “So I think me and Gotye are both really excited to be amongst such company. You know, it’s great.” This gig is yet another milestone for Kimbra and Gotye as they continue to find small-screen and chart success with “Somebody That I Used to Know.” It was covered on “Glee” and has been featured on “The Voice” and “American Idol.” This week’s “SNL” will be hosted by “Men in Black III” star Josh Brolin . During a rather delightful press conference this morning announcing the Muppets’ appointment as the city’s official 2o12 “Family Ambassadors” meant to promote tourism (and, perhaps, to light up the e-mail chains at Goldman Sachs ), an otherwise bored-seeming Michael Bloomberg perked up when he saw the opportunity to get a little action. “I’m going to give Miss Piggy a kiss because, uh, we’re old friends,”… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Daily Intelligencer – New York Magazine Discovery Date : 13/04/2012 16:41 Number of articles : 2
“Mommy porn” SKINsation Fifty Shades of Grey is currently hotter than a pat of butter melting onto Shannon Elizabeth’ s ass, and now cable network FX is looking to tie up the BDSM trend with its own spank-worthy series, Whipped . Whipped will be based on the memoir I Was a Teenage Dominatrix by Shawna Kenney , who slapped, spanked, and fogged her way through college doling out punishment to some of the most powerful men in Washington (including members of Congress) after answering an ad in a local alt-weekly that promised: “Get Paid for Being a Bitch!” No word yet on who will star in the series, though Californication co-executive producer Gina Fattore has been brought on to run the show. And while you’re not going to get anything even close to the Sapphic sadism of Aria (2001, left) on basic cable, there ain’t nothing against FCC regulations about leather corsets and latex bodysuits, which should be more than enough to give the fetish-minded gentleman a Fattore. Looking for something nude to watch on Netflix Instant? So is the creator of a new website called BateFlix , which rather misleadingly bills itself as “the best porn on Netflix” (which doesn’t actually have any XXX titles, or what most of us would think of as “hardcore porn”). Technology blog VentureBeat describes BateFlix as ” a cross between Netflix recommendation search engine InstantWatcher and Mr. Skin ,” and indeed BateFlix’s nudity-ratings format and search categories will be, shall we say, familiar to Mr. Skin users. Bateflix does give users the opportunity to put in their 2 cents, including such insights as ” She gets railed and abused by some bigshot, eventually James Bond appears and sexes her too ” ( The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , 2011) and ” That chick from saved by the bell dances does full frontal. The plot is not bad either .” ( Showgirls , 1995). However, unlike Mr. Skin, BateFlix does not provide specific “fast-forward to” information, nor does it provide pics and clips of the the 6,411 Netflix Instant titles in their database. So ‘bator, please. Mr. Skin has 31,360 titles in his nude database, and unlike BateFlix, we actually show you the good parts. So accept no substitutions…MrSkin.com, fast-forwarding to the good parts since 1999!
