Justin Bieber Graduates To ‘Adult Game’ On New Album

‘We’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up,’ producer Kuk Harrell tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf Justin Bieber Photo: Getty Images Justin Bieber has said that he wants to pull a Justin Timberlake on his next album. So what exactly does that mean? His longtime vocal producer, Kuk Harrell, spoke to MTV News about the early stages of Bieber’s next release. “The only conversation we’ve had about Justin’s album that we’re about to do is it’s really important that it’s the proper transition because we’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up,” said Harrell, who has also worked with Rihanna on her Talk That Talk record. “And we can’t just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There’s a record in between.” With further details on this next album being kept under wraps, Bieber is busy celebrating the holidays. He’s slated to release his video for “All I Want for Christmas,” co-starring Mariah Carey, on Wednesday. Harrell worked with Bieber on his Under the Mistletoe LP and says agreeing to do a Christmas album with the teen phenomenon was an easy yes. “That’s why I think this Christmas album was really important because it gave everybody the opportunity to hear him, see him and get used to his voice changing,” he said. “That was a huge thing going into this album. We were able to get a running start on where he’s at vocally ’cause it’s a natural thing. When his proper album comes out, everybody’s going to really be looking at that.” What will be noticeably different on this next album, which was teased on his holiday album, is that Bieber’s voice will be much deeper. So does Harrell think it’ll be changing a lot more for this next record? “I think he’s pretty good right now,” he said. “It’s just a matter of him settling [into] where he is.” Regardless of what magic does end up making the final cut on this album, which Bieber has said may include work from Drake and Kanye West , Harrell notes that the 17-year-old is “always willing to bring a new fire.” Related Artists Justin Bieber

TwitterFiles Part 1: Nicki Minaj And Cher Catch eFade Over “Did It One Em” Song Lyrics, Then Boy-Toy Safaree Puts On His Cape To Save A Hoe!

When we imagined Nicki Minaj in a threesome, this isn’t exactly what we had in mind… Last night, a fan, or something of the like, put Cher onto Nicki Minaj’s use of her name in a punchline on the Pink Friday track “Did It On Em” If you could turn back time, Cher/You used the be here but now you gone Nair Apparently Cher isn’t too familiar with hip-hop language uses, and didn’t realize that the line was NOT a diss until a hoard of Nicki Minaj stans Barbies jumped down her throat and set her straight. Nicki didn’t spazz on the iconic singer for talkin’ slick, but her excitable side-kick Scaff Beezy took the opportunity to try to hijack some limelight for his excruciatingly lame “rap career” and popped off at the mouth RECKLESS!! Flip the script to read the fawkery…

My name’s Amanda. I met Justin Bieber twice. The 1st time…

My name’s Amanda. I met Justin Bieber twice. The 1st time I met Justin was on September 8th 2011. It was at the Dolce & Gobanna event in NYC for Fashion Week. I waited 7 hours. Around 4:00pm, Justin arrived at Dolce. There were about 20 girls waiting for him. When he came out, all the girls were screaming. So calmly I asked for a picture. Justin said he will be out in a minute (which he never came out. After waiting forever, they were telling us we weren’t allowed inside. But we were told early in the day that we can buy whatever and meet him. Finally this one lady let’s about 10 fans in. We all run and bought lipstick. After I was waiting in a long line to pay so I can meet Justin, this lady that works that (who I had met earlier that day) came up to me and asked how was meeting Justin. I told her I hadn’t met him yet. She confused us with someone else. She said, “You will, just be patient”. I started crying because I was finally meeting Justin after so long. She asked me why I was crying and I told her “I try so many times to meet him but it never happens and now I got this opportunity” . She ended up bringing my 2 friends and I to a private register to pay. Then she brought us upstairs where Justin was. When it was finally my turn, I started crying. Kenny and Justin both asked me how I was doing. I forced “Good” out of my mouth. Justin then said, “Aww don’t cry” and he signed the lipstick I just bought. I didn’t get a picture but yeah. The 2nd time meeting Justin was November 17th 2011. I was so upset that everyone met Justin at z100 so I decided to go look for him. After a half hour, we finally found him. We waited about 3 hrs. My phone and my Nikon camera died. While waiting for Justin, about 50 people came outside. In the back of those 50 people was Justin. He was right in front me. I asked Justin for a picture and he said sure. He put his arm around me and we took the picture. Then my friend handed me her camera to take her picture but I couldn’t take it with my gloves on, so I bit my glove off my hand awkwardly. I started laughing because Justin was like staring at me. Then I took their picture then after I asked for him to sign my CD but I dropped the marker. I then gave it to him and he signed it. After that, he left for the POP event . I’m so happy I finally got my picture. I waited 3 years for him to actually stop for me. I had about 15 failures before this. I’m so grateful. It was the best day of my life. -@amaaandaplease See the original post: My name’s Amanda. I met Justin Bieber twice. The 1st time…

Common Wanted To ‘Get In The Ring’ On ‘Sweet’

Chicago MC shot new video for the single in Haiti, then used clip to raise funds for the earthquake-ravaged nation. By Rebecca Thomas Common Photo: MTV News NEW YORK — Moments into Common ‘s new video for “Sweet,” a man in a mustard-yellow dress shirt faces down the camera, casually twirling a machete. It’s a fitting image for the blistering No I.D. track from the Chicago MC’s upcoming The Dreamer, The Believer. Com is at turns cold and cutting on the single, slinging verses like blades. If it feels unexpected coming from the man who can still set hearts aflutter with emotive tunes like “The Light” and “Come Close,” it’s just that Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr. also happens to be the rap star who brought you ’07’s “The People.” That duality gives “Sweet” its bitter aftertaste and, according to Com, fuels a December 20 release that shows off “a lot of different energies.” “When I started ‘Sweet,’ as soon as I started talking on it, I was like, ‘Yo, this is hip-hop, this is what I do,’ ” he said, smiling broadly at the memory during a chat with MTV News at the Warner Bros. offices. “It was a lot I had to get off my chest on that. And at the same token, I love hip-hop music and raw rap music, for me it was like, ‘Man, I’m gonna go ahead and give them this side of me too.’ ” But Common doesn’t just go for the crown on the track, he growls at some unidentified “singing” MCs for getting all “Frank Sinatra” on their records. Told by MTV News that early buzz put “emo” rapper Drake in the “Sweet” bull’- eye, the Chi spitter looked surprised. “The great thing about hip-hop, you definitely get motivated by other hip-hop artists,” he explained. “You get in the ring and you’ll be like, ‘Let’s go,’ but for me, it’s like, I’m talking to whoever feels it, whoever when they hear it, they’re like, ‘Ooh, is that person talking about me?’ ” So … should the Toronto rapper add Com to the short list of critics taking him to task for crooning? “I think Drake is a good artist,” he responded breezily. “He’s a great artist.” Not to mention, teaming up with No I.D. has a tendency to bring out that street in Common: “It’s natural for me to do that, it’s organic. That’s somebody I grew up with and he knows me and knows what I’ve done throughout the years, whether good or bad.” On Monday night the Can I Borrow a Dollar? MC debuted the clip via Ustream. In it, he stalks the bustling, dirt-strewn streets of Haiti snarling heat like, “I’m the franchise so I rock my own chain / Know I said give ’em that ’80s cocaine/ Something raw, something pure, so I stayed in that vein.” But underscoring his many facets, Com also took the opportunity to raise funds for the earthquake-ravaged Caribbean country by having fans first donate $1 to the Sean Penn – led J/P Haitian Relief Organization in order to stream the visual. Robert Pattinson And Taylor Lautner: What’s Next?

We go through the ‘Twilight’ stars’ rumored projects to see what’s really happening. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson at “MTV First: Breaking Dawn” Photo: MTV News While we would be more than happy to continue to watch “Twilight” leading men Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner go on playing their star-making roles of Edward Cullen and Jacob Black forever, we only have two more movies to go before they retire their big-screen vampire and werewolf statuses for good. The good news is that in addition to the two-part “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” both Pattinson and Lautner have plenty of film projects lined up to keep them up on the silver screen for the next few years. When MTV News caught up with Pattinson and Lautner during “MTV First: Breaking Dawn,” we played rumor patrol with their post-“Twilight” dockets. First up, Lautner is rumored to be teaming up with Oscar winner Gus Van Sant to make a small-budget film based on a nonfiction article from The New Yorker. What is the status of that film? “Gus is an incredible director. I would love to have the opportunity to work with him,” Lautner said. “Things are a little premature right now, but he’s amazing.” We’ll pencil in a “TBD” on that one. Next up, there are murmurs that Pattinson is up for the lead role in a Jeff Buckley biopic and that he’s being considered for the big-screen adaptation of the Green Day musical “American Idiot.” “The Jeff Buckley thing, I just love Jeff Buckley’s music,” he offered as a possible explanation for how his name became attached. ” ‘American Idiot,’ I don’t know where that came from,” Pattinson continued, at which point we let him know that lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong had mentioned Pattinson’s name back in 2009. “Really? That’s pretty cool,” Pattinson said. So for those keeping score, Lautner might be doing a movie with Gus Van Sant, someday, and Pattinson has no idea about Jeff Buckley or “American Idiot.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Chit Chatter: Gloria Govan Is “Optimistic” About A Reunion With Matt… But Why Did They Really Break Up??

The day Matt Barnes sent out his statement about kicking his baby mama Gloria to the curb, she and the other Angry Birds Of LA were over at VH1 taping their “reunion” show. So of course, the good folks at VH1 jumped on the opportunity to ask Gloria about it. I saw the news today about you and Matt, and I know your relationship has been shown a lot this season and we’ll see even more of what’s going on with you a the end of the season, but can you talk about your split? Matt and I do have kids and we’re trying to be as cordial as we can right now and we’ll be in each other’s lives forever, but as relationships go, we have our ups and downs. It hasn’t been an easy ride moving across the country twice, having kids at 21 when I just graduated college, it hasn’t been easy. And now Matt has the lockout, so everything has been stressful with the breakup, the lockout, everything, it’s been a whirlwind. But we’re still friends and we’re still working things out and I wish him nothing but the best. I just asked your sister Laura about it and she said she thinks you’ll get back together. Of course she does. My whole family is rooting for that man. I swear. They would pick him over me. I’ve learned my lesson, never say never and I think anything is possible, but right now I’m taking my time to grow as an individual. Not only for myself but for my family. We’ll see. I’m not going to say never, I’m optimistic, but for now…we’re going our separate ways. But if our paths cross again it’s meant to be. For now, we’re just taking our time to do our own thing. And Laura of course wants it. With her situation with Gilbert (Arenas), she’s been in and out, out and in. She has a lot of experience and good advice when it comes to situations like this. Do you look up to her and think if they can get back together, anything’s possible? Anything is possible but am I looking at them like “Yay, we can get back together because Laura and Gilbert have fluctuated so much and they are back together”? No. I look up to my sister, I think she’s a very string person but in terms of relationship, I’m walking to my own drum here. Do you want to sow your oats and date other people, is that part of it? I think that’s a lot of people’s assumption, that oh, she wants to f— around and f— everything because he did and it’s like NO. A), it’s such a double standard, even if I wanted to I can’t because they’d put me on blast if I did. And B) I have kids, you know? I’m not looking to date anyone at this moment, I’m just going to take this opportunity to take a step back and reevaluate where I wanna go in life. And I think I have a long way to go to make my mark in feature films and in my community, but I’m happy. I’m happy with where I am now. Sounds good, albeit a little delusional, right? But you know are always three sides to every story…

We have been beliebers since day ONE. Justin is our biggest…

We have been beliebers since day ONE. Justin is our biggest inspiration, we always read this page dreaming that someday we could have our own bieberexperience , and the day is here! We have two mybieberexperience’s and we want to share it with you! The first took place at  The Bahamas; June 12, 2010. W e went there for our first JB concert. We were staying at the same hotel as Justin. We were dying   through the whole concert and cried the whole time because it was the best day of our lives. It was about to get better Justin told us to check Twitter for an afterparty. We thought he was kidding but   anyway we did everything he said and at the end, he tweeted  “Club Rush is open till two for the after party”. We ran like never before, there was a pretty big line to get in   and we were the last ones to go inside. We went upstairs. The place was really small there and the music was good but Justin wasn’t there until 5 seconds later. The girls started to scream and then we saw him   standing in front of us! I couldn’t believe it,   he talked to us, then he started dancing just like a normal teenager. We will never forget that day, it was amazing but we didn’t get to take a picture with him. We went back home and just kept supporting him. Then just a few months ago,  we were on vacation when they announced that Justin was coming to our country. We thought that was the best thing ever happening but we were wrong. Both of us had really good tickets like row 6 but that wasn’t enough, we really wanted to meet him! We saw that  bieberfever.com  was having a contest to meet Justin and we couldn’t loose the opportunity. We worked REALLY hard on our video for the contest but we never thought we were going to win because there were many other videos. On October 18th, we were at the airport waiting for Justin to arrive and suddenly Gaby’s mum called us. She told us that we won the M&G passes. We couldn’t believe it so we needed to check, ”Congratulations, Gabriela! You’re officially invited to attend the photo meet and greet TOMORROW, OCTOBER 19th in CARACAS!” It was true, we started to cry and scream, THAT was the best thing ever happened to us. It was October 19th, the day of the concert and we couldn’t think about anything else our dream was almost there! (Meeting Justin). We were on the way to the concert, really nervous and when we arrived we started to look for our passes. There was a women with a little list, we told her our names and she gave us our bracelets  and told us to be back at 6pm next to the stage. There are no words to describe the feeling of meeting Justin, it was something UNREAL. He is perfect, his voice his face, everything we were speechless I couldn’t breathe, we gave him some Sour Patch Kids. He got really excited and then he said, “Thank You Very Much, GRACIAS, how are you girls?” He was really nice. We were paralyzed and we couldn’t believe what was happening. He grabbed us from our hips and they took the picture. Kenny was there too! The second after we said goodbye, we both started to cry really hard. Then the concert was WOW! We got to be in the 1 st  row . We talked to Alfredo and Pattie . A day we will never forget, DREAMS DO COME TRUE FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS & NEVER SAY NEVER! – Gaby & Isa  Here is the original post: We have been beliebers since day ONE. Justin is our biggest…
