Ariel Winter Abuse Case: Modern Family Star Ordered Out of Home

Ariel Winter, the 14-year old who stars as Alex on Modern Family , is at the center of a child abuse scandal. Here is what we know so far, courtesy of TMZ: A judge has ordered the young actress to be removed from her home amidst charges of physical and emotional abuse against her mother, Crystal Workman. Court sources tell the site that a guardianship hearing took place on October 3, during which a judge deemed that allegations against Workman were legitimate enough to warrant further investigation. In the meantime, she was ordered to remain 100 yards away from Winter and the actress was sent to live with her older sister, Shanelle Workman. Incredibly (and sadly) Shanelle was a victim of the same alleged abuse nearly 20 years ago, as the Department of Children and Family Services ALSO removed her from Crystal’s home. Law enforcement insiders say the organization placed Shanelle in foster care for approximately two years and she never resided with her mother again. Another hearing concerning Ariel has been set for November 20.

What A Moron–VA Lawmaker Says Disabled Children Are God’s Punishment To Women Who Had Abortions!

Are you f-ing kidding?? Somehow this bigot delegate got votes and now he’s one of many lawmakers trying to tell women what to do with their bodies. On Thursday, Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall (R) spoke at a press conference against state funding for Planned Parenthood. He blasted the organization for supporting a women’s right to choose, saying that God punishes women who have had abortions by giving them disabled children: “The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children,” said Marshall, a Republican. “In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.” Marshall is also fighting against health care reform, saying that “Obamacare” is trying to take “your soul.” Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been pushing back against high-profile figures and entities who have been attacking people with disabilities. Will she speak out against someone in her own party? Sounds like his looney azz needs to work on his own soul and step down off of his soap box. Source Images via Facebook

Fair Or Far-Fetched? Towson University Students Look To Establish ‘White Student Union’

With Black Student Unions all over the counrty, should white students to be allowed have one too? Towson University Students Rallying For ‘White Student Union’ A Towson University student is arguing that if black students can come together and celebrate their heritage and history, white students should be able to do the same. The student, who has also gathered support from his peers, is proposing the establishment of a ‘White Student Union’ on campus. A Towson University student wants to start a ‘White Student Union’ on the campus. Matthew Heimbach said that he is gathering support from other students who support the idea of the organization. The controversial idea was published in the University’s newspaper, where Heimbach alluded that the purpose of the organization is to replicate other student union organizations on campus by giving white students the same avenue to appreciate their history and heritage. Students and professors balked at the idea of divisive ‘white only’ proposed organization on campus. One student said, “We had to congregate together because we weren’t allowed to congregate with whites. There is a difference between a White Student Union and a Black Student Union based on the history of America.” According to reports for CBS Baltimore, Heimbach was also previously involved with an organization called Youth for Western Civilization, a group that caused uproar when messages of white pride were written across the Maryland campus. Richard Vatz is a communications professor at Towson University and a former adviser of the Youth for Western Civilization, who had this to say: “When you have a group that calls themselves the White Student Union, their only purpose is generally hostility towards those who are non-white.” What say you Bossip readers? Is it fair to deny these students the right to form this organization? How do you think a White Student Union would differ from a Black Student Union? Source

When The Checks Stop Coming In: Terrell Owens Tweets About Being Released From Seattle Seahawks…”I’m Truly Blessed And Have Faith”

Terrell Owens Released From Seattle Seahawks Poor thang. Terrell Owens’ NFL return lasted less than three weeks. Owens was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, part of the league-mandated roster reductions from 90 to 75 players. The 38-year-old posted a message on his Twitter account shortly before 11 a.m. PDT that he had been released and the Seahawks made the move official later in the afternoon. “I’m no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I’m truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver.” Owens wasn’t the only veteran to get cut by the Seahawks. Offensive linemen Deuce Lutui and Alex Barron both had their veteran contracts terminated, while Seattle waived/injured defensive back Roy Lewis (knee), tight end Cameron Morrah (toe), defensive tackle Pep Levingston (knee) and linebacker Jamison Konz (shoulder). Owens signed a one-year deal with Seattle (No. 22 in APPro32) on Aug. 7, following a sterling workout that had coaches and Seahawks staff raving about how good he looked for having not played an NFL game in more than 18 months. He signed just before Seattle’s first preseason game and made his debut in the second week against Denver. But his preseason performance was more notable for the passes he dropped than anything he caught. Owens dropped a potential 46-yard touchdown against Denver on a perfect throw from Matt Flynn. He failed to make a catch in any of his five targets against the Broncos and then had another glaring drop against Kansas City on Friday night. He finished the preseason with just two receptions — a 40-yard catch from Russell Wilson where Owens had to slow down and lean back to haul in the pass and a 1-yard reception on a screen. Owens was trying to make a comeback after not playing since Week 15 of the 2010 season while with Cincinnati. He sat out the entire 2011 season following surgery on his left knee and failed to receive any offers. SMH at T.O. trying to be all polite and “blessed and thankful” now. He should’ve been humble and not a douche when he was in his prime, and maybe he wouldn’t be in this predicament. We wish him the best though. Source

Race Matters: Atlanta Symphony Rejects Two Diversity Deficient High School Choruses Because “They‘re Too White”

White folks need not apply Two high school choruses will not be performing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) this year because they’re not “ racially-diverse enough”… Apparently, it’s more important that you look like you just came from the set of “Glee” than it is to, you know, have actual talent. “This year, the schools were informed by symphony officials that their choruses are not diverse enough, and that the symphony would be inviting a third, more diverse chorus [emphasis added],” said Cobb County Schools spokesman Jay Dillon. Unsurprisingly, some Marietta, Ga., residents believe the symphony’s decision to turn away both Walton and Lassiter High School is discriminatory. “I think it’s sad,” one resident, Shar Nicholson, told WSBTV.com. “I think if they have the talent and the desire they should be given the opportunity.” Atlanta Symphony Orchestra President Stanley Romanstein argues that it’s one of the goals of the organization to “reflect the diversity of Atlanta,” adding that he is surprised at the outcry. “It’s an interesting misunderstanding,” he said. What if the best available singers are from only one ethnic group? Doesn’t excluding some of them for less talented singers from another ethnic group, simply because of their ethnicity constitutes discrimination? What do you guys think? Source
