“Cancel Me”: Daniel “Yessum Julz” Caesar’s New Album Went Quadruple Balsa Wood; Twitter Laughs At His Struggles

Remember how Daniel Caesar came flying to her defense like your mother’s brother Thomas? Remember how he put out an IG video daring black people to cancel him? Well, fast forward to July and Daniel has released a surprise album like he thinks he’s Beyonce. The album, Case Study 101, only managed to sell roughly 3,000 copies with 22,000 streams according to The Grapejuice , which is…not great. Some will point to this as a result of Caesar begging to be canceled, but it probably has more to do with the fact a surprise album coming out while other highly-anticipated albums are dropping doesn’t usually bode well. He probably isn’t canceled or boycotted…but Twitter is still going to roast his a$$ for his sales. Right? Right. He spent millions of dollars on a 4th Of July parade in Washington, D.C. that included tanks and war planes and all the reminders that America has killed millions of people in its history. Ah, patriotism. The party was to be fully of his most strident MAGA-loving supporters far and wide. The whole charade was also accompanied by one thing Trump can’t lie his way out of: the wrath of Black Jesus. That’s right. The only explanation for the downpour that ruined Cheeto Dusty’s celebration was a good old-fashioned Old Testament smiting. As a result, 45’s insanely stupid party turned into a big old mess. One such woman was Justine Skye who has been on an incredible glo-up all damn year. One thing her appearance on the new Blue Carpet (in honor of Nipsey) showed was that black award shows should probably just adapt the blue for the carpets going forward as they bounced off of melanin like pure magic. Genasis, Casanova 2x and Pardison Fontaine on the Pier 17 Rooftop for a crowd-pleasing concert experience that celebrates Southern culture through urban music & cultural connections. More than 3,000 guests turned up with Fontaine who kicked things off with hit record “Backin’ It Up” and set the tone for Brooklyn native Casanova 2x’s high-energy hometown performance. Source: Sansho Scott Atlanta-born and Long Beach-raised rapper O.T. Genasis sent the crowd into a tizzy with chart-topping hits like (Beyonce’ approved) “Everybody Mad”, “Cut It”, and “Thick” before paying homage to his friend–late rapper Nipsey Hussle. Source: Sansho Scott Next up was Rick Ross who closed out the show with some of his hottest hits like “The Boss,” You Know I Got It,” and “Diced Pineapples” before turning it over to the crowd to show him why a Grits & Biscuits party is legendary.
