Forbes Magazine Apologizes For Calling Irish President ‘Gay’ Forbes Magazine is biting the bullet and humbling themselves after they recently described Ireland’s President as a gay man in a recent article on their website. via ABC News Financial news publisher Forbes says it’s apologizing to Ireland’s president for inaccurately describing him as gay in an online article. The New York-based media company pulled the offending piece from its website Wednesday and replaced it with an apology to readers and, indirectly, to President Michael D. Higgins. “Forbes will be issuing an apology to President Higgins in a separate correspondence,” the publisher said. Higgins, who has a wife and four children, offered no immediate response. The article, posted Tuesday by Ireland-based blogger David Monagan, called Higgins an “acknowledged h*m*sexual.” Higgins, a poet and intellectual who supports gay rights, was elected as Ireland’s ceremonial head of state in 2011. One candidate he defeated, Sen. David Norris, is Ireland’s foremost campaigner for gay rights and famously open about his ho*ose*uality. SMH. They had this man’s wife giving him the super-sideeye for no reason at all.

HuffPost Live recently hosted a discussion on the topic along with sex assault survivors on how those who speak out about being assaulted can ensure that they won’t be blamed, and one of the women made a disturbing revelation about how she was treated by her college officials when she reported the sex assault incident. via Huffington Post One in four women will [suffer sex assault] before graduating from college — a sobering statistic that all women in American universities face. While more students are coming forward with their stories, many have found that demanding justice from their college administrators is easier said than done. HuffPost Live hosted a discussion on how we can ensure that sexual assault victims who seek help aren’t stifled. During the segment, sexual assault survivor Annie Clark shared her own experience dealing with the aftermath of assault on campus. “When I reported my [sex assault], I was told that “forced sex” is like a football game, and if I looked back on it, what would I have done differently in that situation,” she told host Ahmed Shihab-Eldin. “So I was basically being really blamed for something that had happened to me.” It’s a shame that this is the type of treatment women get after making the tough decision to speak out about what happened to them. There are some sick fawks in this world…smh 12-Year-Old Chinese Girl Allegedly Has Baby By A 74-Year-Old After Sex Assault Via DailyMail A 12-year-old girl has given birth to a baby that was allegedly fathered by a 74-year-old. The pensioner from a neighbouring village in Qiyang, Hunan province, China has been arrested by police for the crime after DNA evidence reportedly revealed he was the father of the baby girl. But the child has denied she was raped by the man. Her family believe that the pensioner was forced to confess as part of a police cover-up. They believe that DNA was not taken from any of the three teachers to see if they fathered her daughter. The girl also claims that at one point during the investigation she saw the three teachers in question handing money over to the police. She claims she was also threatened by the headteacher of her school to keep quiet. The 74-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 years in jail. Anna Benson Tries To Rob Her Estranged Husband Dressed As A Ninja Via NYPost Crazed “Baseball Wife” Anna Benson dressed like a ninja and armed herself with a gun, ammo, hatchet and taser to break into the home of estranged hubby and ex-Mets pitcher Kris Benson, demanding dough and calling him a “p—y,’’ a police report shows. The former Playboy Playmate and mom of four, 37, ambushed her stunned husband, 38, Sunday night as he exited the bathroom in the master bedroom of the home they once shared in Marietta, Ga., the document says. Anna Benson, dressed all in black, wore a bullet-proof vest and loaded ammo clip, cops said. She also had on her a black Taurus handgun, black hatchet, black baton, black taser, 13 rounds of ammunition, a bag of syringes — and a red “Batman” folding knife, authorities said. She demanded $30,000 from her husband, police said. Kris Benson said she pulled the gun out of her purse at one point, although she didn’t directly aim it in his direction. “It scared me,’’ he later told cops. Asked if he thought she’d shoot him, he said, “Maybe.’’ The shaken ex-Mets ace told his out-of-control wife that he had to get his wallet — and quickly fled to the basement, where he called 911, police said. American Executive Hacked To Death With Machete After Argument With Cabbie Over $2 Fare Via NYDailyNews A Thai taxi driver was charged with murder after police say he stabbed and slashed an American passenger to death over a fare worth less than $2. The Saturday night scuffle in Bangkok was partially caught on camera and shows a man — later identified as 32-year-old driver Chidchai Utmacha — wielding a long blade at his victim, authorities said Monday. Utmacha confessed to pulling a 12-inch machete from his trunk and hacking at Troy Lee Pilkington, but told police he acted in self-defense after the American charged at him. Pilkington got out of the taxi and refused to pay a 51 baht fare, or the equivalent of $1.60, which led to the deadly dispute, said police Lt. Col. Teerayut Maiplaeng. The surveillance footage shows the cabbie driver gripping a machete as the other man flails his arms and tries to grab the driver along a busy street. The two men then move out of the camera’s view. Seconds later, the sword-swinging driver reappears in the frame as he bolts from the scene. California-born Pilkington, 51, was living in Thailand for at least three years as a senior official at the American machinery company Caterpillar Inc. He spoke fluent Thai, Teerayut said. Utmacha told investigators that he picked up Pilkington from a department store and was driving him home. But his passenger claimed the meter was rigged, and then stormed out of the cab while they sat in traffic. Utmacha said the American then threw a cup of coffee at him when he demanded the fare. That’s when he pulled the blade from his trunk to threaten him, but the driver said Pilkington ran at him. The victim had a cut to his head, a stab wound to his chest and cuts to his left wrist, according to The Nation newspaper. Police identified the driver from the video footage and arrested him at his house on Sunday. The machete was found in a nearby canal, the Bankgkok Post reported. This guy ain’t no Jackie Chan… LAPD Offers $25k Reward For Info Leading To Arrest Of Asian Wig Bandit Via NBCLosAngeles The Los Angeles Police Department is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to a suspect responsible for a series of robberies targeting businesses for the past seven months. The suspect, dubbed the “Asian Wig Bandit,” disguises himself as a female by wearing a wig and sunglasses, and pulls out a handgun after approaching employees, ordering them to ground while demanding money and jewelry, according to the LAPD. He is believed to be linked to 15 incidents since Dec. 19, 2012, and has targeted companies that transfer money to the Philippines, the LAPD said. The robberies took place in the cities of Los Angeles, West Covina, Glendale, Chula Vista and Rancho Cucamonga. He has also been spotted in the San Jose area. He is described as an Asian male, 25 to 30 years old, who weighs about 160 to 180 pounds and stands 5 feet 9 inches tall.
