Flavor Flav Owes $111K in Back Child Support, Faces Jail Time

Flavor Flav needs to cough up $111,186 in child support payments to the mother of three of his seven kids or face jail time, news sources say. “It was declared a willful violation,” an official said of his failure to pay child support … which can’t be good. He faces up to 180 days behind bars. The rapper didn’t show up for a hearing last week, so an Albany, N.Y. magistrate recommended his driver’s license and passport be revoked. While Flav, 53, is required to pony up $837.72 a week to baby-mama Angie Parker for child support … he clearly hasn’t done so in some time. This isn’t the first time the outspoken, likely insane rapper has slipped up on child support payments. Parker sued Flav in 2010 for $63,458. Before his second career as a ridiculous VH1 reality show star, Flav was a member of Public Enemy. He served 90 days in jail in 1993 for shooting at his neighbor. The Flavor of Love star and House of Flavor restaurant owner is due back in court June 19 to answer the charges … we’ll see if he shows. [Photo: WENN.com]

Bill Cosby on Trayvon Martin Case: Blame Gun Ownership

Bill Cosby has weighed in on the Trayvon Martin case, but NOT on the subject of race. The famed comedian told the Washington Times that firearms in the wrong hands are the problem, and that neighborhood watch volunteers like George Zimmerman, who shot and killed the unarmed teen, should not be allowed to carry guns. “We’ve got to get the gun out of the hands of people who are supposed to be on neighborhood watch,” Cosby said in his first public remarks about the case. “Without a gun, I don’t see Mr. Zimmerman approaching Trayvon by himself,” Cosby added . “The power-of-the-gun mentality had this man feeling unafraid to confront someone. Even police call for backup in similar situations. “When you carry a gun, you mean to harm somebody, kill somebody.” The Cosby Show star’s remarks were immediately circulated on the Web, including some sites that take issue with Cosby’s pinpointing a gun as the problem. The 74-year-old steered clear of mentioning race in a case that has sparked allegations of racial profiling and a nationwide debate over self-defense laws. Prosecutors charged Zimmerman with murder last week after police initially did not arrest him following the February 26 shooting death of Martin. The Trayvon Martin case became a national obsession shortly thereafter, with the public calling for justice and questioning Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. Lady Gaga Slammed For "Pop Singers Don’t Eat" Tweet

Lady Gaga is a major advocate for anti-bullying campaigns and LGBT rights, but she’s come under fire for a Tweet she recently posted about … eating. Yes, in what some critics are interpreting as a pro-anorexic statement, the outspoken, wacky-dressing singer recently told her 22.6 million Twitter fans: “Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay,” the 26-year-old posted. Even though she was eating a salad (maybe she’s just dieting?), the backlash started rolling in, accusing the pop star of supporting eating disorders. “Seriously what is Lady Gaga playing at? In her last tweet she put #PopSingersDontEat. What a great role model she is…” one Tweeter posted. Added another Tweeter: “@ladygaga I’m stunned that you would promote such an unhealthy attitude towards food to your fans when you claim to be so righteous.” So far, no response from Gaga on Twitter, and since she’s not doing interviews for awhile, don’t expect a public comment anywhere else. New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has a brief message for supermodel Gisele Bundchen, following her blaming the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl loss on dropped passes by husband Tom Brady’s teammates: Just shut yer yap and just look gorgeous! The Brazilian beauty made news after she was filmed, unknowingly, by The Insider , defending Brady from gloating Giants fans shortly after Super Bowl XLVI. “You have to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” yelled Bundchen to Giants fans as she was on her way out of Lucas Oil stadium.’ “My husband can’t f–king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,” she continued. “I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” When asked by reporters about the rant during Tuesday’s victory celebration at MetLife stadium in New Jersey, Jacobs offered some unsolicited advice: “She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up,” the outspoken star said. His teammate, defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora, expressed a little more sympathy: “I mean she’s supposed to stay out of things like that, but at the end of the day that’s their relationship and she has the right to say whatever she wants.” Gotta like a gal standing by her man, even if you’re glad said man lost. She’s also not wrong. That Wes Welker drop was an absolute killer.

All we can say is PREACH! Writer and MSNBC contributor has drawn some criticism for her outspoken criticism of Washington politics as usual and crooked azz Corporate America during an interview Wednesday. Taylor was asked about the catastrophic effect of the recession on minorities and she went IN on the folks she feels are responsible: “Catastrophic is right, you know. If you look at African-american and Hispanic households, fully a third of them report zero wealth. Not even a dollar in positive wealth. A lot of that wealth was tied up in the homes that they spent more than 75% of their income either buying or maintaining, and so when those homes were taken away, the wealth went with it. “If you put on top of that affordable health care and access to health insurance, then, you know, most of the bankruptcies in this country, especially from black and brown people, are driven because of health care costs, and so when you ask yourself what has happened to black and brown Americans, I can tell you what happened to them. “Corporate America happened to them. People who are, you know, literally raping these people over medical costs, exorbitant medical costs and then to turn around and swipe the homes that they worked their lives to build, you know, over some subprime lending issues. So I think that we ought to re-examine our priorities as a country and re-examine how to go forward. I don’t think that’s the America we’re banking on, the America we all believe in.” Sounds about right to us. You can watch the interview below:
