Jessica Simpson’s Tasty White Meat

I know I’ve been saying that Jessica Simpson has been putting on a little weight, but I wouldn’t go so far as to give her her own float… That’s just mean. Here she is in the 84th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade yesterday looking nice and warm in her giant coat and ear muffs. Even if they do have the word muff in their name, ear muffs just aren’t sexy. I’m glad that even with the big coat on we can still see that tasty white sweater meat of hers… Pass the gravy.

Kanye West Performs Rousing ‘Lost In The World’ At Thanksgiving Day Parade

Despite appearing to be lip-synching, rapper delivers spirited performance at annual Macy’s event. By Alvin Blanco Kanye West (file) Photo: Ben Hider/Getty Images The Kanye West promo march continues, so naturally the Chicago rapper took his show to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Amidst marching bands and balloon versions of Kermit the Frog, SpongeBob SquarePants and Spider-Man, Yeezy performed a rousing though shortened rendition of “Lost in the World” from his just-released fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. As more than two million people lined the parade route and millions more watched from home, West performed in front of Macy’s flagship location near Manhattan’s Herald Square on 34th Street at around 11:20 a.m. West kicked his verse from “Lost in the World” along with its chorus atop the Big Apple float, which was adorned with a giant apple and a New York taxicab coming out of a tunnel below it. Wearing a long fur vest, leather pants and a gold V-neck shirt, West delivered a spirited performance despite the fact that he appeared to be lip-synching. Interestingly, Matt Lauer was one of the NBC broadcast’s hosts of the parade. Lauer interviewed West during his infamous appearance on the “Today” show that led the rapper to cancel a scheduled performance on the program. West also compared Lauer to a child abuser during a speech at his not-so-secret show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday night. Nevertheless, it was Lauer who introduced West. Other performers at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade included the casts of the Broadway musicals “Memphis” and “Elf,” Jimmy Fallon with the Roots, folk singer Arlo Guthrie and Keri Hilson, who performed on the My Princess Academy float. John Travolta, Kelly Preston Welcome Baby Boy

Son Benjamin was born on Tuesday night in Florida. By Gil Kaufman John Travolta and Kelly Preston Photo: Getty Images John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston have plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. The couple welcomed their son, Benjamin, on Tuesday night at a hospital in Florida. A spokesperson for the actors confirmed the news to E! Online in a statement. “John, Kelly and their daughter Ella Bleu are ecstatic and very happy about the newest member of the family,” read the statement. “Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully.” The baby weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces. The superstar duo announced in May that Preston, 48, was pregnant with their third child together a little more than a year after 16-year-old autistic son Jett died of a seizure in January 2009 while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas. Preston recently told People magazine that the family was in serious preparation mode as her due date approached. “I’ve been cleaning out everything in the house,” Preston said in September. “Ella has been helping too. She’s looking forward to being a big sister.” Travolta has been taking a hiatus from acting in the wake of the news about the baby and has kept his schedule light, appearing as the bald-headed baddie Charlie Wax in the little-seen thriller “From Paris with Love” alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers earlier this year. At press time it did not appear that Travolta had any other roles in the can or on his upcoming schedule. Kanye West Makes Fantasy Real With Secret NYC Show

Nicki Minaj, Justin Vernon, Teyana Taylor join ‘Ye at Bowery Ballroom to celebrate album release. By Jayson Rodriguez Kanye West performs at Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday Photo: Erez Avissar NEW YORK — Kanye West is nothing if not a showman, and on Tuesday, the rapper celebrated the release of his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, with a performance that was as daring and dashing as it was fraught with traces of the petulant MC of the past. Shortly after midnight, West took to the stage at the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan accompanied by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and femcee/singer Teyana Taylor. The trio launched into “Dark Fantasy,” the spirited opening number of ‘Ye’s new set. Sporting a skin-tight dress, Taylor admirably belted out the chorus to the track and stuck around to ride shotgun with the G.O.O.D Music chief. “New York City, make some noise,” West told the gathering crowd after the opening selections. “Today, I’m gonna do My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. ” From there, West breezed through “Gorgeous,” “Power” and “All of the Lights,” the latter of which was a rumbling effort. Nicki Minaj joined Yeezy on stage for some album-release unity when the DJ spun “Monster,” sans Jay-Z. Rick Ross arrived onstage for the Bink-produced “Devil in a New Dress.” When West teased the first few chords of “Runaway,” the crowd — which included Diddy, music executives Lyor Cohen and Sylvia Rhone, ?uestlove, comedian Aziz Ansari and Selita Ebanks — erupted with approval. The dramatic rendition was easily the night’s highlight and featured artist Pusha T looked possessed on the microphone. Meanwhile, West was like a mad scientist pounding away on his MPC machine, creating musical backdrops to match almost each song. After over an hour of performing, Yeezy closed the proceedings with a stirring, slowed-down rendition of the song “Lost in the World,” the song he’s slated to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday . He reappeared on stage shortly after for an encore and powered through brief versions of “Christian Dior Denim Flow” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” Although he finished with “Good Life,” it may have been the defiance of “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” that stuck with ‘Ye after the performance, when he spoke to the crowd. “As you know, it’s been an extremely hard year for me,” he began. “But getting back to music, G.O.O.D. Fridays, and the album … I never thought I’d say this, I wanna thank the magazines for perfect scores across the board. I always felt like I could do anything. “To do 100,000 digitally,” Ye continued, remarking on his first day tally in sales from Monday. “And slated to do 600,000 the first week. I’m not here to do mother—-ing politics. I’m here to make music. I’m not here to talk in no interviews; no one ask me any stupid f—ing questions.” Open the floodgates! It’s Mega-Release Week, with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and Lloyd Banks all dropping new albums. Kanye West, Nicki Minaj And Ke$ha Lead Huge Album-Release Week

My Chemical Romance also moved their album to Monday to get a jump on the holidays. By Gil Kaufman Kanye West Photo: MJ Kim/ Getty Images It happens every year around this time. No, not that food coma from too much turkey — the parade of megastar albums that drops the week of Thanksgiving. While the past two weeks have already seen the release of a number of potential blockbusters, from Taylor Swift’s instant-platinum Speak Now to new albums from Susan Boyle, Kid Rock, Rihanna, Josh Groban and Rascal Flatts, Monday’s bumper crop could help pump some life into the holiday season. After Kanye West decided to stake out the off-cycle Monday as the release date for his eagerly anticipated My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, his competitors fell in line to take advantage of the holiday-week sales rush, with Nicki Minaj, My Chemical Romance and Ke$ha pushing their release dates up one day as well. “I think Kanye will do great,” said Carl Mello, director of purchasing for the 28-store Newbury Comics chain, one of the few remaining non-big-box music retailers in the nation. “He did himself a lot of favors putting up so many tracks during the year and engaging with the audience.” Between the string of G.O.O.D. Friday releases and his headline-grabbing “Runaway” mini-movie , Mello said Kanye set the album up by whetting his audience’s appetite for months on end. As for Nicki’s Pink Friday, even though she spent the year building up cred with a series of features and her own hit “Your Love,” Mello predicted she’d do “fine” but wasn’t expecting her to put up Kanye numbers. “It’s nice to have a female rapper who is credible and has a chance at being quite popular,” he said. The bigger challenge might come for My Chem, whose Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys has gotten good buzz thanks to the speedy single “Na Na Na,” but they have been out of stores since 2006’s The Black Parade, which divided some fans. “There’s almost nothing harder to sell than something that reacted well with 13- to 14-year-olds a few years ago, but who don’t necessarily make the journey with the band over the years,” he said, noting the dive in popularity of similar bands such as Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte. And though first-week sales of Rihanna’s Loud are not expected to be blockbuster, Mello also said he expects that album and Kid Rock’s Born Free to be solid sellers through the end of the year, along with Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, as well as Swift and previously released discs by Eminem and Lil Wayne. Billboard magazine Senior Chart Manager and analyst Keith Caulfield agrees that West will probably have the biggest sales week, but said Ne-Yo could also have a solid bow with Libra Scale after months of working singles to radio. While he thinks Nicki could have a good week, Caulfield was cautious about Ke$ha’s Cannibal. “She could also do well, but because she’s so track-oriented, it’s hard to say,” he said. “The best comparison for Nicki would seem to be Missy Elliott at her height with Under Construction, which sold 259,000 in its first week, and that’s when people bought a lot of records. It’s hard to gauge how an artist who, up until this point, has been very track-oriented but has an established record for a long time before releasing a proper album will do.” He pointed to fellow Young Money rapper Drake, who built his career up for nearly a year with a popular mixtape and features before releasing a full-length debut. “She’s very different. She’s colorful and versatile, but it’s hard to pinpoint how that will translate into sales,” he said, noting that “Your Love” has sold a very respectable 700,000 downloads to date. Also in the mix are greatest-hits releases from Jay-Z and Pink; Lloyd Banks’ H.F.M.2 ; the reissue of Nine Inch Nails’ debut, Pretty Hate Machine ; a Jimi Hendrix box set that Mello said is doing very well at his stores; Bruce Springsteen’s The Promise archival set; the “Burlesque” soundtrack; and next Friday, a Target exclusive acoustic set from Justin Bieber. And the hits will keep coming through the holidays, with a Christmas-themed “Glee” soundtrack on November 30 — which will also bring the latest from the Black Eyed Peas, The Beginning — followed the next week by T.I.’s No Mercy. December 14 brings the last potential blockbuster of 2010, the first posthumous album of Michael Jackson material, Michael, as well as the major-label debut of “American Idol” season-nine runner-up Crystal Bowersox, Farmer’s Daughter ; R. Kelly’s Love Letter ; and Ciara’s Basic Instinct. (All release dates subject to change.) Which new release are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments!
