Well done, Unnamed Mother. In a case of seemingly well-deserved public shaming, a parent has forced her daughter to pose for a photo on Facebook while holding a sign that says she’s been acting as a cyber bully. As punishment, the young lady is being forced to sell her iPod and give the money to the charity Beat Bullying. Why must she do so? Because bullying is wrong , as the message below reads. What do you think of this punishment? How does it compare to another mother taking away her child’s One Direction tickets because the daughter acted like a trollop ?
Not so fast, Family Who Remixed We Can’t Stop for the Holidays . You may not have won the Internet after all. Say hello to Lilly and Leon Mackie and their baby son Orson. The trio recently moved from New Zealand to Sydney, had many cardboard boxes lying around as a result and also a lot of time to be awake with a relative newborn. So what else is a family to do other than re-create various iconic movie scenes?!? It started with the following ode to The Life Aquatic, which Lily dubbed “The Life Domestic.” And then it snowballed in the most awesome way from there… There’s this Star Wars scene… And this Indiana Jones moment… There’s Orson making like Tom Hanks in Castaway… And, finally, the family pretending to be under attack in Jurassic Park… “We wanted to depict our messy and sleep-deprived new life of raising a baby,” Lily told Buzzfeed. Mission hilariously accomplished, no? Head over to Cardboard Box Office now to view other amazing re-creations.
A new commercial for Coke in Argentina beautifully sums up the wonders of parenthood and all the ups, downs, stains and sleeplessness that go with it. Bringing another human into the world is a magical feeling, a great responsibility and an experience so rewarding that anything else pales in comparison. You also get a small, demanding, disgusting new roommate who completely transforms every aspect of existence and wears on your sanity, however. The Coke TV spot below captures both aspects well. Check it out: Coca Cola Life Ad While any new parent knows how the new additions to the household push you to the brink, the effect of this chaos overall is actually (inexplicably) love. This ad by Santo Buenos Aires and director Pucho Mentasti for Coke’s natural Argentine concoction set out to capture this balance of parenting realities. Individually, these moments can appear maddening and make you wonder how and why humans keep on making more humans. But together? “Having children is not just life’s most important moment, but the ultimate test to connecting with your best side,” says Santo creative director Sebastian Wilhelm. “Coke Life is a new kind of Coke. We’re just starting to build this brand, setting up its world, its tone of voice. We were aiming for ’emotional comedy’ [with this ad].” “The kind that makes you smile and weep at the same time.” Mission accomplished.
Kim Kardashian is going on the offensive. The reality star understands she may get criticized from time to time, and she tries hard to ignore most of the haters. But she went off on a Twitter user who criticized her parenting last week – and now she’s done the same to all critics who called Kim out for her recent eBay auction that benefited typhoon disaster relief in the Philippines. As a quick refresher: Kardashian auctioned off a few items from her closet in late November, saying on her blog that the money raised would go to those affected by this horrific storm. However, many noticed the fine print read that only 10% of the proceeds would actually go to charity… and blasted Kim for the self-centered, misleading online event. “My dad always taught me the importance of giving back,” Kardashian writes in a new blog post. “I don’t publicize everything I do to help charities and people all over the world. I do it because I want to. I do it because my dad taught me to. I do it because it’s the right thing to do. “So for people to attack me for giving 10% of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts.” Kim Kardashian Auctioning Off Clothes For Charity She was far from finished, too, explaining how the auctions work and that fees (for eBay itself, for PayPal, etc.) add up to the point where she’s not really profiting from these endeavors and adding: “I do eBay auctions monthly and change the charity or church from time to time. I give 10% of all my earnings to charities, not just these eBay auctions. This month it’s for the people of the Philippines, last month was Life Change Community Church… “The people of the Philippines need all of our help, no matter how big or small. “Over the last 5+ years, I have listed thousands of items on eBay Giving Works for various causes. I will continue to do what is in my heart and am happy to know many others have enjoyed purchasing from me, as they too are giving with me. “Giving comes from the heart. We all need to be reminded of this as we celebrate the holiday season this year.” What do you think of Kim’s explanation? Of the criticism that came her way? Was it over the top? Deserved? Does she simply suck all the time and can never win? Or might Kim Kardashian really mean well sometimes?
Gisele Bundchen has once again sparked debate and discussion over breastfeeding, this time by simply sitting there doing so in a terry cloth robe. While being made up and styled for a photo shoot, obviously. The Brazilian beauty shared Tuesday this somewhat controversial photo of herself breastfeeding her daughter as a beauty squad carried out its aesthetic duties: “What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours of sleep #multitasking #gettingready,” Tom Brady’s wife captioned the photo. Nursing daughter Vivian as she gets her nails, makeup and hair done by three different people, Bundchen also translated the caption into her native Portuguese. That’s taking multitasking to a new level. Back in August 2010, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel caused a stir after the birth of her first child with her quarterback husband, son Benjamin. “I think breastfeeding really helped,” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK about getting back the figure that made her the world’s highest paid supermodel. “Some people here think they don’t have to breastfeed, and I think, ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child, when they are so little?'” “There should be a worldwide law, in my opinion,” Bundchen added controversially, “that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months.”
The teaser trailer for Godzilla has just been released and fans’ first look at one of the most anticipated motion pictures of 2014 certainly doesn’t disappoint. The trailer shows a city under attack by the titular, dinosaur-like creature, with members of the military scrambling to respond to the beast and its antics. There’s even one frightening glimpse at the enormous creature itself: Godzilla Trailer (Teaser) Gareth Edwards’ take on the classic story/behemoth strives to be different, darker, bigger, and scarier, he ambitiously teased at this year’s Comic-Con. “There’s nothing sci-fi, it’s very grounded and realistic,” he said. “I’ve never worked this long and this hard on something that lasted just a few seconds since I lost my virginity.” Well played. The Godzilla cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Breaking Bad ‘s Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins. Godzilla is due to hit theaters on May 16, 2014, pretty close to another large-scale sci-fi project. Check out this morning’s Jupiter Ascending trailer !
Monday night’s Love & Hip Hop, “Messy All Over the World,” lived up to its title. Love & Hip Hop Season 4 Episode 7 was one giant mess in every sense of the word. Either the women in Peter’s life are beyond airheaded, or they’re incredible actresses. Either way, something doesn’t add up, because they’re not like most women. Meanwhile, K. Michelle’s attitude? Holy crap. When Rich Dollaz and Erica Mena are the sanest people around, you know things are going off the deep end. Miss the episode? Want to watch it again? Either way, you’re in luck. This is one of the sweetest stories you’ll ever read. Last week in Flint, Michigan, Shana Warner received the surprise of her lifetime when boyfriend Jeff asked her to marry him. Warner said yes, but then the couple decided they didn’t want Shana’s six-year old daughter, Ally, to feel left out… so Jeff got down on one knee and proposed to her as well! The following photo, snapped by Shana, captures Jeff asking Ally to be his stepdaughter: “Mommy got a ring and mommy got proposed to, so we just wanted her to feel very included in our family,” Warner told MailOnline Sunday. Jeff, 34, asked for Shana hand in marriage at his birthday party a week ago. On Saturday, mother took daughter to see Santa at a store in Frankenmuth when Jeff made his unexpected, loving gesture. “Santa was about to let her go when Jeff got down on one knee and asked her,” Shana said. ‘She was in awe, she thought it was amazing. At first, she was just really overwhelmed and then finally she said “yes.'” What a terrific story. It even beats this flash mob proposal .
Rihanna took time out from making it rain with her rekindled flame Drake to release the music video for “What Now” this morning. You can check it out below: Rihanna – What Now “#WHATNOW #VIDEO drops THIS MORNING on @VEVO if ya can’t wait for #videoseason” the 25-year-old entertainer wrote on her Twitter account. It’s the fifth single, and video, from her album Unapologetic . We saw Rihanna Twerking ’til her heart’s content in her “Pour It Up” video, but now the star’s taking things to the dark side in her “What Now” video. The video features her in what she describe as “red carpet goth” attire, in a setting that’s “kind of eerie, very creepy because ‘What Now’ is one of those songs.” “Everybody’s probably expecting narrative type of video, a love story of some sorts … soft and pretty. It is pretty and kind of soft, but it’s really a little demented.” Speaking of a love story of some sorts that’s not nearly as demented as her relationship with Chris Brown once was, she is hooking up with Drake again.
This is an incredible video. It depicts newborn twins who just entered the world… and yet are acting as if they’re still in their mother’s womb. While engulfed by water, the babies remain intertwined in the footage, refusing to let go of each other and reminding us of those twins in May who held hands in an incubator immediately after being born. It’s powerful stuff and we recommend you view with a box of Kleenex by your side. Maybe even two boxes. Watch now: Twins Act Like They Are Still in the Womb
