Greater L.A. residents can now sit in traffic drive with reduced fear. Amanda Bynes’ license has been suspended by the California DMV, according to the L.A. Times, following the misdemeanor hit-and-run charges filed against her this week. DMV officials won’t specify the exact reason or when Amanda’s suspension occurred. Regardless, insurance companies and pedestrians everywhere can exhale. Bynes was charged in two hit-and-run accidents – occurring April 10 and August 4 – when the troubled star allegedly crashed into another car and peaced out. In the case of the former, Bynes was charged with DUI . She’s been involved at least two other unrelated traffic incidents in the past six months as well. Maybe now the 26-year-old will rely on friends, cabs or car services … a novel idea she and Lindsay Lohan should have considered years and years ago. [Photo: WENN.com]
Proving that no celebrity marriage is safe, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have announced their separation after nine years of marriage. A rep for the couple says the split is “amicable,” though few other details are available at this time. Arnett and Poehler were married in August of 2003 and are the parents of sons Archie, 3 and Abel, 2. Arnett guest-starred on Poehler’s Parks and Recreation in 2010, while other shared on-screen credits for the pair included Arrested Development , Blades of Glory , Horton Hears a Who! , On Broadway , Spring Breakdown and Monsters vs. Aliens . This marriage was the first for Poehler. Arnett was previously married to Penelope Ann Miller. We wish each side the very best in this difficult time.

In March, the parents of Alana “Honey Boo” Thompson, were reportedly visited by Family and Children Services , who somehow did NOT find a reason to prosecute June Shannon and her husband “Sugar Bear.” Despite, among many other reasons, that one of them is named Sugar Bear. But we can now confirm that June has a separate criminal history, as she was arrested in 2008 in Henry County, Georgia. The 33-year old was booked on counts of contempt of court and theft. Not much information is available aside from the charges themselves, but her mug shot has been located – and it’s a classic: “You have to take pride in how you look,” June said on a recent Here Comes Honey Boo episode. “Granted, I ain’t the most beautimous out the box, but a little paint on this barn, shine it back to its original condition. Cause it shines up like it’s brand new. “There’s a lot of people that are bigger than me. They got five hundred chins. Janna Ryan, the wife of U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, has quickly and predictably been thrust into the national spotlight since her husband, a Wisconsin Congressman, was announced as the Republican nominee for Vice President by Mitt Romney. Here are a few things to know about the 43-year-old Janna: 1. Janna Ryan is 43, and married Paul in 2000. She is stay-at-home mom raising three young children in Wisconsin, Elizabeth, Charles and Samuel (above). 2. Ryan, whose maiden name was Little, grew up in Madill, Oklahoma. Both of her parents spent their careers as successful lawyers in private practice. A town in Oklahoma, Little City, is named after her family. Like her parents, Janna has a law degree, having graduated from George Washington in 1998. 3. Her family has strong political – and Democratic – connections; Her uncle, David Boren, served as a Democratic governor of Oklahoma and later as its U.S. senator. Boren’s son, Dan Boren, is Janna’s cousin and a member of House of Representatives. A Blue Dog Democrat, he has often voted across party lines. 4. Before marrying Paul, Janna was a Washington operative herself, forging an early professional career as a congressional aide and healthcare lobbyist. Friends describe her as being able to navigate between different worlds – from small-town Oklahoma, where she’s from, to prestigious Wellesley College and to D.C., where she is well-versed in complex policy debates. “She is very comfortable in and around politics. She grew up in a political family, and it comes very naturally to her,” said Leslie Belcher, a Washington lobbyist who worked on Capitol Hill with Ryan and was later one of Ryan’s bridesmaids. 5. Friends and Romney campaign officials say that while her exact role is unclear, she would undoubtedly be an asset to Romney-Ryan ticket. “I think she is very relatable,” said Missy Edwards, a lobbyist in D.C. who became friends with Ryan when they both worked on Capitol Hill. “She’s from a small town, (with) three young kids, smart, and focused on her family, first.” “They got married eyes wide open, knowing that they wanted to dedicate themselves to public service, and that meant that Janna wouldn’t work, and Paul would dedicate himself” to working in Congress, said Jodi Bond, a vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who has been friends with the Ryans for decades. Karen Klein, the Upstate New York bus monitor made famous by a viral video in which she was bullied by middle school boys, is planning to retire. The announcement comes just one week after a web campaign effort padded the bus monitor’s pockets with more than $700,000 in donations . “I’m not quitting because of what happened. That’s not it,” Klein, the 68-year-old bus monitor, told The AP. “I enjoyed working with the kids.” “I guess it’s just my time to leave . That’s what I’ve decided.” In the video, Klein is shown sitting on a school bus as teen boys hurl the most vile insults at her for over 10 minutes, eventually making her cry. The video has been reposted so many times it’s impossible to tell how many times it’s been viewed, but Klein obviously became a cause celebre. Max Sidorov, 25, was inspired to start the campaign on Indiegogo (dot) com, writing “Lets Give Karen – the bus monitor – Klein a Vacation!” Although Sidorov’s goal was to raise $5,000 by July, the site drew in $703,833 from 30,000 donors in all 50 states and more than 84 countries. “I think people love rallying around a cause, especially helping someone in need or who has been abused or can’t stand up for themselves,” Sidorov said. “It just shows there are so many great people in the world. It warms my heart.”
