Jay-Z, Kanye West Throne Show At MSG ‘Unreal’

‘There’s no other experience,’ one fan tells MTV News of the Throne’s first stop in Jay’s hometown New York City. By Nadeska Alexis, with reporting by Rahman Dukes Kanye West and Jay-Z in “Watch The Throne” tour (file) Photo: The Washington Post/Getty Images Jay-Z and Kanye West brought their much-heralded Watch the Throne Tour to New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Monday night after two shows at New Jersey’s IZOD Center over the weekend. After kicking off the eagerly anticipated jaunt last week in Atlanta, the Throne began their trek north, stopping in North Carolina, and now they’ll stay put for one additional show at the Garden on Tuesday night (November 8). MTV News headed to the show on Monday, where the allure of seeing Jay and Kanye run through their catalog of hits at the World’s Most Famous Arena wasn’t lost on fans who filed into the newly renovated stadium for a 9:30 p.m. start time. Sticking to the script of their previous shows, the duo opened up with the WTT bonus track “H.A.M,” but “Welcome to the Jungle” hit a soft spot when Jay-Z spit his line, “Rest in peace to the leader of the Jackson 5.” The reference was especially touching just hours after the guilty verdict in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case was finally passed down. As expected, Jay and ‘Ye performed their #1 single “Ni–as in Paris” multiple times during the show’s final minutes, adding in a mix of Jay-Z’s early hits like “Lucifer” and “Money Ain’t a Thing,” along with Kanye’s “Get Em High” and “All Falls Down.” And post-show, fans who spoke to MTV News were still brimming with excitement. “This is where it all started,” said one excited fan, referring to Jay-Z’s first hometown stop on the tour. “This is where he’s gonna start, this is where he’s gonna finish, so this is the best feeling ever. If you’re a Jay-Z fan — or anybody’s fan for that matter — you’ve gotta see them in the Garden. There’s no other experience.” “It was unreal to watch them together, feeding off each other’s chemistry,” another fan added, after watching Jay and ‘Ye throw it down. “Watching them own the stage like they did — it was ridiculous.” The Throne will perform one additional show at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night before they head to Florida. Michael Jackson’s Family Reacts To Guilty Verdict

‘Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served!’ family says in a statement to TMZ. By Andrea Duncan-Mao LaToya Jackson outside Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday Photo: Toby Canham/Getty Images Seventeen members of Michael Jackson ‘s family — including his parents, brothers Jermaine and Randy and sister LaToya — were on hand Monday (November 7) in the Los Angeles courtroom when a guilty verdict was read in the involuntary manslaughter case against Jackson’s former physician, Dr. Conrad Murray . While the audible gasp heard when the verdict was read was reportedly that of Kathy Hilton — a close Jackson family friend and mom to Paris and Nicky Hilton — the family remained stoic during the proceedings and did not hold a formal press conference afterward. Upon exiting the courthouse, Jackson’s mother, Katherine, told local news cameras, “Justice was served. I want to thank the jury for doing the right thing,” while brother Randy said he was “ecstatic,” and Jermaine said the verdict felt “wonderful.” Latoya, wearing a black and gold jacket reminiscent of something her late brother would wear, waved her arms at the crowd in celebration and also tweeted: “VICTORY.” TMZ reported that the family later released a statement, reading, “We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn’t hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served! We can’t wait to go home and share this day with Michael’s children.” Dr. Murray was found guilty on one count of involuntary manslaughter and faces up to four years in jail and the loss of his medical license. He is due to be sentenced November 29. MTV News will be covering the Conrad Murray case live. Go to MTVNews.com for breaking news, reactions and analysis from Los Angeles or tune to MTV for the latest updates. Celebrate the life and legacy of Michael Jackson tonight at 9 p.m ET/PT when VH1 presents the World Broadcast premiere of “Michael Jackson’s This Is It.” Related Videos Michael Jackson’s Former Doctor Found Guilty Related Photos Michael Jackson: A Fashion Icon Related Artists Michael Jackson

Frank Ocean Cancels NYC Show After Promising New Orleans Debut

MTV’s RapFix hit Odd Future crooner’s NOLA concert a day before he canceled NYC date via Tumblr. By Nadeska Alexis Frank Ocean Photo: MTV News Frank Ocean , Odd Future’s much-buzzed about crooner, seemed to be just getting started when he suddenly canceled his scheduled Sunday show in New York just one hour before his set time citing illness. The jaunt was interrupted only a day after Ocean played the first date on a mini-tour that kicked off in his native New Orleans on Saturday. Back in February, Ocean independently released Nostalgia, Ultra via Tumblr, and since then the popular mixtape has been pegged for re-release on Def Jam, thanks to the hit singles “Swim Good” and “Novacane,” which both made their way from the Internet to the radio. In early October, the 24-year-old singer/songwriter announced plans to embark on an intimate six-city tour in support of the mixtape. The Odd Future member kicked off his short-lived run with a solo show in his hometown of New Orleans on Saturday night, but after performing sound check at the Bowery Ballroom the following day, he canceled the show. While some fans were already lined up outside of the venue, Ocean retreated to Tumblr to pen a new post titled “New York Is Cancelled.” “[O]r should i say postponed,” Ocean wrote. “I played last night in new orleans, on antibiotics and some other meds. got sick a cpl days before i left los angeles. woke up this morning in new york and could barely speak. called a doctor to my hotel, got a steroid shot. took some more meds. laid in bed all day till soundcheck, got to the venue and could barely sing any of my songs. im really sorry yall. i been workin on this show for months, did everything i could to make it special for yall. i’ll be back soon as i’m healthy. thats my word. tickets will be valid for that, or you guys can get refunded. damn this sh–.” During his New Orleans show on Saturday night, it took the shy performer some time to warm up to the crowd. He delivered several tracks from Nostalgia, Ultra, including “Lovecrimes,” “Swim Good” and “Novacane,” while slipping in some material from his upcoming album. Ocean also performed the hooks from his Watch the Throne features “No Church in the Wild” and “Made in America.” Before the cancellation, the tour was expected to stop in the Netherlands, London and Paris before concluding in Los Angeles on November 15; no word yet on whether those shows will go on. Drake Debuts New Tracks With Lil Wayne And T.I.

Weezy-featuring ‘The Motto’ and T.I.’s ‘Headlines’ freestyle unveiled on L.A. radio Monday. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne and Drake Photo: Getty Images With just two weeks until he releases his sophomore album, Take Care, Drake blessed fans in L.A. with new music when he debuted “The Motto” (featuring Lil Wayne) and T.I.’s version of “Headlines” on Power 106 Monday night. “The Motto” is believed to be Take Care ‘s last bonus track , though a track list on Zune’s website has the song as “Untitled.” Regardless of where it will end up and how it will be placed, the Weezy-assisted song is equipped with a deep rolling bass and staccato drums — a real party starter. From the first few bars, Drake throws it up for his YMCMB fam and responds to Luther Campbell’s claim that non-Miami natives Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled should pay tithes of some sort considering that they now live in the city. Drake throws a not-so-subtle nod to the 2 Live Crew legend’s jabs spitting, “Tell Uncle Luke I’m out in Miami too/ Clubbin’ hard, f—in’ women, there ain’t much to do/ Wrist bling, got a condo up on Biscayne … ain’t sh– change.” Drake also pays homage to late Vallejo, California, rapper Mac Dre , who was gunned down seven years ago Tuesday (November 1). “I’m in the building and I’m feeling myself, rest in peace Mac Dre/ I’mma do it for the Bay, OK,” Drizzy respectfully spits. For the final verse, Wayne utilizes his usual free-associative rhyme pattern with lines like “Talk stupid, off with ya head/ N—a money talks and Mister Ed” and “Ain’t sh– sweet, n—as on the streets like hookers.” For his second premiere of the night, Drake unveiled T.I.’s “Headlines” freestyle. As soon as the beat drops, T.I. makes the beat his own, adding an original flow to the popular beat. “I ball all night, go hard all day, fall deep up in your broad all day,” he starts off his verse. “I liked the record and it was spazzin’, and I felt like, ‘Let’s see what I can add to it,” T.I. told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway about his version of “Headlines” when he visited his “Sway in the Morning” radio show on Shade 45 in October. Since being released from prison in September, T.I. has gotten on a number of high-profile rap songs like Future’s “Magic,” the Throne’s “N—as in Paris” and now Drake’s “Headlines,” and while each freestyle has been well-received, Tip admits that he wasn’t exactly commissioned to jump on the tracks. “None of these people approached me. I did it and got with them [after] and let them know that I did it.” What do you think of Drake’s “The Motto” with Lil Wayne, and T.I.’s “Headlines” freestyle? Tell us in the comments! Elizabeth Berkeley Flat Ass of the Day

It isn’t news to me that Elizabeth Berkeley has a shitty ass. I posted her ASS IN A BIKINI a few months ago….pondering how long it’s been since she was in Showgirls….because the evolution of her ass brings up such philosophical questions…but normally when you see a bitch in jeans, they’re designed to give her a little booty, but instead…we’re dealing with middle-aged flatness…and I’m not sure why I’m posting these pics..I genderally hate what menopause does to a bitch I once jerked off to….but I am…we’ll call this post the life-cylce of sex appeal….or maybe I’ll stick with Liz Berkeley’s Flat As…enjoy…if you can…weirdo…

Wishing Paris Hilton Met a Real Aligator of the Day

Swamp People is the only show worth watching on TV…so I understand the plight of the Aligator…and I know that I think it would be a far greater service to the world…and more importantly lesson to the kids…if this was a picture of Paris Hilton with an actual aligator…getting eating….you know so the kids learn…if you’re a vapid, spoiled, materialistic cunt with no soul, who turns to pornography to make even more money than her greedy ass already has, karma’s gonna bite your fucking face off and leave you to die…. I know, Paris Hilton doesn’t matter anymore…but this picture brought me great fantasies of her end….and figured I’d share that joy with you, cuz relevant or not, she’s still and always will be the lowest grade human around…
