After being indicted on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child , Adrian Peterson turned himself over to the police in Houston early Saturday morning. He was booked at approximately 1 a.m. and released once he posted $15,000 bond. He admitted to police that he whooped his four-year old son with a switch and that he later felt bad about the severity of the beating, especially because he accidentally struck the child in the testicles. Once the toddler was returned to his mother, she took him to the doctor, who tended to a number of serious wounds all across the boy’s back, legs and buttocks. Peterson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, says his client is fully cooperating with the authorities and is a caring father who was just disciplining his son. “This indictment follows Adrian’s full cooperation with authorities who have been looking into this matter. Adrian is a loving father who used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son,” reads a statement from Hardin.
