Sylvia Kristel, an actress who rose to fame as arguably the first adult film star, has died at age 60. Cancer claimed the star’s life after a long battle. “She died during the night during her sleep,” her agent confirmed. Sylvia Kristel was admitted to a hospital in July after suffering a stroke, though she was first diagnosed with throat and lung cancer roughly ten years ago. Born in Utrecht, Holland, she made waves around the world as the star of 1974 erotic French film Emmanuelle , in which she portrayed the title character. Young model Emmanuelle, married to a much older man, engages in a number of extramarital affairs – as her husband doesn’t seem to mind – in Bangkok. The film garnered a major following, played for 11 years in a theater in Paris, and remains one of the most successful French films of all time of any genre. Emmanuelle also inspired a number of sequels in which Kristel also starred, and her effort in the “soft core” film even drew critical praise from critic Roger Ebert. Kristel appeared in nearly 60 titles over the years, including TV movies. She admitted to drug and alcohol addiction and experienced her share of bad relationships, later saying if she had it to do over again, she would avoid them. With one exception: Belgian author Hugo Claus. Having won a few notable beauty pageants by the time she was 21, Claus encouraged Kristel to become an actress. The couple had a son, Arthur, in 1975. But dealing with Paris’ antics is proving to be more than Katherine can handle – and she recently blasted the teen over her made-up appearance and rebellious attitude. “Your father would be furious with you!” she screamed at the blue-eyed young beauty, says an insider. I’m Danyelle and I’m 15 years old. On October 9/12, I was siting in my socials class and decided to check my email on my phone. I was so surprised when I looked in my inbox and saw a message from BieberFever. I thought it was just a message regarding my membership but actually it was a message that made my dream come true of meeting Justin! It was stated with: “Congratulations you’re officially invited to attend the photo meet & greet on October 10, 2012 at Rogers Arena.” I was freaking out in class and immediately called my sister and mom. I actually thought that my dream of meeting my idol wouldn’t happen this year. I tried everything with the help of my family and friends. We joined all the contests, messaging the crew, skipping school during the pre-sale and general sale, asking each one of my mom’s friends, asked people working at the arena and we even asked our bank for help. I was getting so upset that I wouldn’t get the chance of meeting Justin. The email that I received from BieberFever definitely changed everything. I will never forget this and will forever treasure every second of it. That morning I felt sick but that wouldn’t stop me from making my dream come true. I went to the arena at 4:00 p.m. to claim my wristbands. While waiting in line, Kenny came out and I freaked. I was in line for about an hour and 30 minutes until I was next to the curtains. The moment Kenny opened the curtains I was freaking out and trying to calm myself down. I walked inside with my sister and some other girls who won from this radio station contest. The first thing Justin said to us was, “Hey girls, how are you doing?” I was still in shock. It felt like a dream but I had to tell myself that this is really happening. I walked up to Justin and gave him my present and letter. “Aww, is this for me?” Then he replied with, “Thank you sweetheart.” It was time for our picture to be taken. After I asked him if I could have a hug and he said of course. He gives the best hugs and it just felt so good that I didn’t want to let go. I just kept staring at him. He was so perfect. Afterwards, he signed my album. Before I left I said, “Thank you so much for everything and I love you,” and he replied with, “Awee thank you sweetie. I love you too.” It was the fastest few minutes of my life that it even felt like it only lasted for a few seconds but I remember every second of it. It was just the best feeling ever getting to meet your idol. Then it was finally time for the much awaited show. I had the best catwalk seats. Carly came out first and she did her thing. It was my first time seeing her live too and she was amazing. Without even noticing, the countdown for Justin had started. From the video montage, to the lights, to the effects, to the stage, and to the choreography it was incredible and beyond amazing. Justin sounded like an angel. With his performance on stage, he just proved to the world what a true and talented artist he is. Before performing ‘Fall’ and ‘Be Alright,’ he lifted his shirt twice. Until today, I am still shocked and amazed that this all happened and I’ll forever be. It proved to me that anything is possible and dreams do come true if you just believe. Hey guys, my name is Noortje and I’m from the Netherlands. So my first MBE took place on: 1 January 2010 at 14:42:53. That day was the day Justin followed me on my old personal twitter, almost 3 years ago. My second MBE took place on March 27/11 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on the My World Tour. I entered the BieberFever competition, I had to make a video where I was promoting BF. After that I had to wait for a while, one day before the concert I got the BEST e-mail ever. I was at my work secretly checking my mailbox till I found the mail from Brad. This is one of the moments I will never forget, I won the competition and was going to meet MY IDOL the next day, are you kidding me. I couldn’t believe it. So I called my best friend Marit who was going with me to the concert and we freaked out over the phone. The next day we went to Ahoy, the stadium he was playing at in Holland. Me and my friend Marit were there at around 2pm cause we couldn’t get there earlier. It was so amazing meeting up with all the other Dutch Beliebers, and there was a karaoke party and stuff. Around 5pm we had to head in to get our wristbands at the reception. After that we went with this big group to a room where Justin was. Some guy told us the rules and then all of the sudden Kenny walked in LIKE OMG , being the shy person I am I didn’t talk to him. How stupid of me. After some minutes the door to Justin opened, and let me tell you he was F L A W L E S S. Like I’m not even kidding or exaggerating. It was like he was perfect doll/statue, so beautiful I couldn’t believe it. We went in and he said hello, and me and my friend Marit, Sherice and Monique (two strangers back then) were SO shocked, we couldn’t answer him. Then we took a picture and he was like, ”Thank you very much” IN SUCH A SWEET WAY . I’m still drooling. I was flipping in my mind so hard. When we walked out I remember saying ‘OH MY GOD’ and then some girls came in and literally jumped on him LOL. Even though it were only about 30 seconds and I didn’t get to hug him or tell him how much I love him, it still were the BEST 30 seconds of my life. The day after I saw a press conference on my TV of Justin in Belgium and he was talking about how girls would show up at the M&G and would just black-out and don’t say anything. It reminded me of our meeting with him , hehe. Justin, thank you for everything. You continue to make me smile, proud and love you even more everyday. You’re the best. Can’t wait to see you rocking the Believe tour in Paris and Holland. I’m traveling all the way to Paris just to see you.
