Rory McIlroy Quits Golf Tournament, Blames Sore Wisdom Tooth

Sitting at seven-over par in the second round of the Honda Classic, Rory McIlroy stunned the golf world today when he simply dropped out of the tournament. The world’s top-ranked player initially told reporters in the parking lot that he was in a “bad place mentally,” later apologizing and explaining via statement: “I sincerely apologize. I have been suffering with a sore wisdom tooth, which is due to come out in the near future. It began bothering me again last night, so I relieved it with Advil. It was very painful again this morning, and I was simply unable to concentrate. It was really bothering me and had begun to affect my playing partners. “I came here with every intention of defending my Honda Classic title. Even though my results haven’t revealed it, I really felt like I was rounding a corner. This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year and I regret having to make the decision to withdraw, but it was one I had to make.” The PGA Tour does allow a player to withdraw during a round due to “injury or other disability which requires medical attention, or serious personal emergency.” However, the rules also stipulate that McIlroy will ineligible to win the 2013 PGA Tour scoring title, something he accomplished last year. Of course, we all know the real reason Rory dropped out: who would not want to go home to Caroline Wozniacki ?!?

My name is Anggun, I’m 15 and I’m Indonesian. I joined a competition and they asked us to make a video about how fanatic you are of Justin and the prize was to watch the Believe tour in Miami. The most voted video would also get M&G tickets! On January 25, 2013 I went to Miami with 6 other winners from Indonesia which was a 25 HOUR FLIGHT. As we arrived on the 26th we went to the arena hoping that we will meet Justin. We waited outside Justin’s tour bus in the parking lot. We waited for 30 minutes but nobody show up and only around 10 beliebers  were waiting because the concert had not finish yet. We went to some mall near the arena for dinner and we went go back to the arena after the concert was over. Suddenly one of my friends said, “Is that Cody Simpson?” We looked at him and then chased him asking for a picture. At first he doesn’t want to but I said, “We are from Indonesia,” and then he agreed. Then we met some beliebers that went to the concert and asked them how it was. I was so excited to see the show the next day. We went back to Justin’s tour and it was full of other beliebers waiting. We waited and Scooter came out! I didn’t take a picture with him but he TOUCHED MY HAND! I was so happy. Then the next day on January 27, 2013 one of my dreams came true, I met Justin. I waited for 2 hours in line outside the arena. The crew asked us to make a group of six. I was crying at that time because I was alone. Suddenly a woman asked me to be in her group who was with her family. She said her and her husband won’t take a picture with Justin, she just would accompany her children, so that means I would take a picture with only with 3 people. The security then said that Justin was here. Inside the arena, I met Scooter, Kenny and Fredo.   The curtain opened and finally this was my time to take a picture with Justin. I run to him and gave him a hug. He smells really good I swear. After I took a picture with him, I took his hand and gave him a bracelet to him. As we were leaving, I looked back at Justin and he winked at me! I was crying really hard after that and there was a local TV stations that filmed me. I still cant believe that I hugged Justin. -Anggun (@angguntalitha) View post: My name is Anggun, I’m 15 and I’m Indonesian. I joined a…

Las Vegas Shooting: Three Wounded Outside Movie Theater

An shooting in a parking structure outside a Las Vegas Strip movie theater left two people critically wounded and another with a minor injury last night. Police don’t believe the shooting just after midnight was a random act, and Officer Laura Meltzer said the shooter or shooters hadn’t been identified. Las Vegas Strip Shooting She adds that earlier reports of the shooting taking place in the theater are false, and that it was more likely an ongoing conflict between two groups. “The theater had nothing to do with it,” Meltzer told The Associated Press. “They were not coming from a movie. It was not in the theater lobby.” It wasn’t immediately clear how many shooters there were, but Meltzer said multiple shots were fired in the event, the latest in a string of shootings nationally. Police arrived to find one of the most seriously wounded people in the parking structure lobby and another in an elevator car on the fifth floor of the six-story structure. Both are in critical condition at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. A third victim was found near the street in front of the elevator lobby. He was treated at the scene for an injury that Meltzer said wasn’t believed to be life-threatening. The wounded were described as males, ages currently unknown. Meltzer said investigators don’t believe the confrontation between the two groups was gang-related, but they were still trying to determine their relationship. Police and property security officers closed exits and entrances to the Showcase Mall parking structure for more than two hours while they investigated.

In White Folks With Black Kids News: Happy Birthday Jackson! Charlize Theron’s Precious Baby Boy Turns 1!

Shout out to the lil homie Jackson Theron who just turned 1! This kid is definitely giving lil Louis Bardo a run for his money when it comes to these Hollyweird celebrity seeds. Anyway, Jackson just turned 1 and so his mom Charlize threw him a big bash with some other celebrity babies. Via US Weekly news : It seems like just yesterday that Charlize Theron brought home baby Jackson, but in fact almost a year has passed since she announced his adoption in March 2012. Earlier this month, the single Snow White and the Huntsman star, 37, celebrated a huge milestone with her son: his first birthday, which she marked with his first birthday party. On Tuesday, Jan. 8, Theron hosted a superhero-themed shindig for her little boy at the Coop, a play space for kids in L.A.’s Studio City. (Ashlee Simpson and ex-husband Pete Wentz threw a similar bash at the same venue for son Bronx’s 4th birthday in November.) The fete featured big lollipops and jelly rings, cupcakes topped with Spiderman’s face, and special appearances by Wonder Woman and Batman. (Plus champagne for the parents!) “It was a really mellow party,” a source tells Us Weekly of the celebration, which was attended BY a few of the actress’ famous friends, including Marley Shelton and Jason Bateman, who brought his 11-month-old daughter Maple. “Charlize is the nicest person on earth. She’s gorgeous and relaxed and sweet.” She’s also a fantastic mother. “Charlize absolutely adores [Jackson]. They have the most wonderful relationship,” the insider gushes to Us. One sweet example of her maternal instincts? “[Jackson] was jet-lagged, so when everybody sang ‘Happy Birthday,’ they had to whisper it. She didn’t want it to be really loud.” In fact, the Oscar winner has been a doting mom ever since adopting the tot last year. “It’s an overwhelming sensation of love,” Theron gushed to E! News of motherhood in May. “There’s almost a moment where I feel like I can’t remember anything prior to him. I feel like it was always just meant to be what it is. Everyday I’m just like, ‘It’s not possible to love you more,’ and then 20 minutes later you’re like, ‘Oh my god! How is this possible?’” Awwww that’s so sweet. Poor widdle Jackson had jetlag, so they sang him the birthday song quietly — like a lullaby! GSI

SUNDANCE: Directors Tease ‘C.O.G.,’ ‘I Used To Be Darker,’ ‘Shopping,’ ‘It Felt Like Love,’ ‘Austenland’

The Sundance Film Festival is passing its midpoint, but there are more world premieres of some of the films that will grace the Specialty Big Screen this year. Beginning last week Movieline posted details about this year’s U.S. and World Competition films and filmmakers in their own words. In this round, Kyle Patrick Alvarez ( C.O.G. ), Matthew Porterfield ( I Used to Be Darker ), Mark Albiston and Louis Sutherland ( Shopping ), Eliza Hittman ( It Felt Like Love ) and Jerusha E. Hess ( Austenland ) preview their films. [ Related: WATCH: Get To Know 5 Sundance Film Festival Filmmakers (And Their Films) AND SUNDANCE: Directors Tease ‘Dirty Wars,’ ‘Fire In The Blood,’ ‘God Loves Uganda,’ ‘A Teacher,’ ‘Narco Cultura’ ] C.O.G. by Director Kyle Patrick Alvarez [U.S. Dramatic Competition] Synopsis: David has it all figured out. His plan—more a Steinbeckian dream—is to spend his summer working on an apple farm in Oregon with his best friend, Jennifer. When she bails out on him, David is left to dirty his hands alone, watched over by Hobbs, the old farm owner and the first in a series of questionable mentors he encounters. First there’s Curly, the friendly forklift operator with a unique hobby, and then Jon, the born-again rock hound who helps David in a time of need. This first film adaptation of David Sedaris’s work tells the story of a prideful young man and what’s left of him after all he believes is chipped away piece by piece. With such beloved source material come great advantages and immense pressure. Writer/director Kyle Patrick Alvarez proves more than up to the challenge as he delivers a finely wrought story that remains true to both the author’s voice and his own. Jonathan Groff perfectly embodies David and imbues him with abundant wit that masks the uncertainty that he hides. C.O.G. is a funny and poignant portrait of a lost soul searching for himself among the amusing characters in life’s rich pageant. [Courtesy of Sundance Film Festival] Responses by Kyle Patrick Alvarez The C.O.G. quick pitch: C.O.G. is the first film based on any of writer David Sedaris’ work. It chronicles the time he spent as a young man working as an apple picker in the Hood River Valley in Oregon. …and why it’s worth seeing at Sundance and beyond: I think that this is the first (and possibly only) time David Sedaris has allowed anyone to adapt his work before is notable enough. I also think our cast, which includes Jonathan Groff, Corey Stoll, Dennis O’Hare, Dean Stockwell, Casey Wilson, Dale Dickey and Troian Bellisario, is so strong and they’re so good in the film, I can’t wait for people to see their performances. About getting permission and other challenges: The first difficult step was getting Mr. Sedaris to agree to let me turn it into a film. After trying to reach him through more traditional means, I finally decided to just show up at one of his readings and give him a copy of my first film “Easier with Practice”. Fortunately, he really enjoyed the film and we started a dialogue. I expressed my sincere intentions with the piece and broke down exactly how I planned on approaching the material. He agreed and has been incredibly giving and gracious ever since. Financing took a long time as well. Even though people did like my first film and were intrigued and excited about the adaptation, the movie still tackles challenging themes about religion and sexuality. It has quite a dark edge to it that I don’t think people will be expecting. Getting the movie made finally was a product of lowering our budget and our shooting days. It meant making production more challenging, but to have the opportunity to finally shoot the script was well worth it. Shooting on location in Oregon was a truly great experience. We only had 18 days to shoot and encountered heavy rain and bad weather almost every day. We had to shoot up to 9 pages a day so it was always a scramble. Fortunately our crew and cast were so prepared that always met our days. We even shot right in the same areas David was actually in when he wrote the story. At one point our base camp was in the parking lot of the apple factory he had worked in (though we chose to shoot at a different factory). And how Alvarez assembled his cast: Mostly through the traditional process of making offers and meeting with the actors. I’m very hands on with casting, so for me it’s a process of being very thorough and thinking of the actors out there I love and would be thrilled to work with. I’m still in awe that we got the cast we did in the film. I’m very proud of the work each and every one of them did. —

This video is a play by play of My Bieber Experience. December…

This video is a play by play of My Bieber Experience. December 1st, 2012 was the best day of my life. I’m a 21 year old Belieber and I was extremely excited when my dad told my sisters and I that we got amazing seats plus meet and greets for the Toronto show. Finally the day came and we were on our way.  We were running late and the Toronto traffic was super bad. We had planned on checking into our hotel, getting ready and then head over to stadium, but at 4 p.m. we were driving by the Rogers Center and that’s when we found out the meet and greet was at 4:30. We pulled in, got changed and ready in the parking garage then zoomed to the gate to pick up our tickets and wristbands. After we got them, we were beyond excited when we walked into the stadium with our orange wristbands. Since we were late we were near the end and there were hundreds of people in front of us. We were told we had to take the picture with a group of 6 so my two sisters and I joined up with a girl (@thebieberbarbie) and then two others. There were SO many people and we waited for a while. While waiting we saw Pattie, Diane, Bruce, Alfredo, Kenny etc. The wait didn’t seem too long but once I turned the corner, saw the black curtain and knew Justin was behind it, I was in shock. They told us it was our turn to go in. I remember I made myself lean over and look Justin in the eyes. He said, “Hey” then double looked at me and then said, “How are you” and then we took the picture. I was holding his arm which was behind the girl beside me (@thebieberbarbie). After the picture was taken and we were ushered out, it was pretty quick. I have some regrets about not saying anything  because I was in shock but it was still amazing. I remember looking at his flawless face not believing I was seeing it in real life. I honestly didn’t even know he was wearing a hat until our meet & greet was posted online. Alfredo was at the exit of the meet & greet and was filming everyone’s reactions which was cool. After the meet & greet we went outside, found our gate and headed to our seats. We were shocked to see how amazing they were. We were right beside the catwalk. We got wristbands that allowed us to stand right next to it during the concert. When Justin came down in those wings I almost lost it, we were so close we could see his eyes under the sunglasses and literally count the sweat drops on his forehead. After Justin sang ‘Be Alright’ and ‘Fall,’ he tossed the guitar pick he was using into the crowd. I remember thinking, there’s no way I’ll get it because I can’t lose my spot along this fence. I turned to look at the lucky person who caught it and that’s when I saw my dad bent over and to my surprise he stood up with the pick in his hand! ! My sisters and I freaked out. We have his guitar pick! (6:24 in the video) During ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ Justin touched my hand and I got video footage of it (9:13 in the video). He also touched it again during another song but I didn’t get it on video. We got to go backstage and meet up with Pattie and Diane during The Wanted,’s performance and we actually saw them coming off stage on the way back to our seats and took a picture with them. Overall it was an amazing experience. I still can’t believe I can say “I met Justin Bieber”. I tried to get tickets for the 2013 Summer Toronto shows but was unsuccessful. I’m still hopeful because of what Justin has taught us – Never Say Never right, and you’ve gotta believe. -@nicholedouble Visit link: This video is a play by play of My Bieber Experience. December…

Shots Fired…Literally: Man Popped In The Back Of The Head As He’s Walking Down The Street In NYC

This isht was just cold-blooded murder !!! According to The New York Post , this happened in broad fawking daylight too!!! A man was fatally shot in the head…on West 58th Street and Broadway this afternoon in a shocking act of violence, authorities said. The incident occurred about a block from Carnegie Hall, in front of the St. Thomas Choir School located at 202 W. 58th St. around 1:50 p.m., the FDNY said. The victim, Brandon Lincoln Woodard, 31, of Los Angeles, was approached from behind by his killer and shot once in the back of the head, according to NYPD spokesman Paul Browne. He was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital. “The victim was walking westbound on West 58th street in front of St. Thomas Choir School when a male black, unknown age, in a dark coat, dark hood and khaki pants began walking westbound behind the victim,” said Browne. “The shooter came up at close range and shot the victim one time in the back of the head.” The street was crowded with passers-by at the time of the shooting. After the shooting, stunned witnesses ran over to a nearby fire house and said Woodard had been shot in the face, sources said. The firefighters then rushed over to Woodard and tried to aid him, sources said. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a dark coat, dark hood and khaki pants, hopped into the passenger side of a light-colored Lincoln MKZ sedan, Browne said. “The shooter got into the passenger front seat of that awaiting vehicle, which had the driver in it and they drove out of the parking space and proceeded eastbound toward Seventh Avenue on West 58th street,” Browne said. “The gun was a silver semiautomatic pistol and a shell casing was recovered at scene,” Browne added. “We’re canvassing for videos and witnesses.” The shooter appeared calm and determined to carry out the execution-style shooting, according to cops. “There was no rush,” Browne said. “He just walked up, shot him and walked away.” The NYPD has obtained video of the shooting. The getaway car was parked right there too?? SMH…this story has us asking a lot of dayum questions. Stop the violence folks! Images via shutterstock
