Signs That He’s In Love With You

“Actions speak louder than words” isn’t a worn cliché, it’s the truth. And when it comes to love, what people do means so much more than what they say. Here are few clues to let you know if your lover is, in fact, in love with you. When your partner starts to prioritize your thoughts, feelings and desires with the same importance he places upon his own, there’s a good chance that he’s all in. He’s more often than not checking for how you feel, if you are comfortable and what’s on your mind; this means even more coming from a guy who’s not a perpetual people pleaser. If you inspire him to act like one, he may just have love all over him. Continue reading…

5 Tips For A Relationship Tune-Up

More here:

Have you and your partner been together for ages — or are you still sailing along in the honeymoon phase? No matter how long you’ve been a twosome, it’s always smart to take a step back from your relationship to give it a tune-up. In fact, all relationships need TLC. Without it, partners get lazy and the spark dies out, says Irina Firstein, LCSW, a New York City relationship counselor who has doled out relationship advice to couples for over 20 years. Affirmation For Today: I Deserve A Loving Healthy Relationship Her best advice? “Try to remember what attracted you to your partner in the beginning of your relationship. Feel it again and keep it fresh in your mind.” At EverydayHealth.com , Firstein offers five no-fail tips for recharging your relationship. 1. Try a Little Tenderness Here’s a rule of thumb that seems like a no-brainer, but often gets forgotten in the rush of daily life: Be nice to each other! It’s all too easy to take your partner for granted and get wrapped up in kids and work, says Firstein. Instead, try this: Take a moment every day to pay your partner a compliment. “Go out of your way to make your partner feel special and important,” she says. Longest Living Black Married Couple Gives Advice 2. Chit-Chat More One piece of relationship advice all experts agree on? Communication is key. When was the last time you went out of your way to have a real conversation with your partner — one that you didn’t rush through? “Have a genuine interest in every aspect of your mate’s life the way you did when you first met and started dating,” says Firstein. “Ask questions and really listen to what they have to say. Be interested in how they feel and what they think.” How To Make Your Long Distance Relationship Work 3. Add Oomph to Your ‘Thank You’ Do you remember the last time you told your honey how much you appreciate him? A healthy relationship is a blessing, so say thanks with both words and with deeds. If your wife usually gets home from work late, surprise her one night with a homemade, late-night meal. If your husband is usually in charge of yard duty, give him the day off and get out there with the mower yourself. ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recap: Petra Is Out, Pia Toscano Is In

‘American Idol’ castoff will sing on the show next Tuesday. By Kelley L. Carter Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin Photo: ABC The big news to come out of Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” elimination show wasn’t who was getting booted. Host Tom Bergeron announced — to the crowd’s delight — that ousted “American Idol” finalist (and rumored girlfriend of dancing pro Mark Ballas) Pia Toscano will perform next Tuesday. She’ll be singing while Ballas and partner Chelsea Kane dance. Of course, who was actually eliminated was saved for the final minutes of the show, and the couples in a three-way tie for the bottom judges’ score had to sweat it out for a while. Kendra Wilkinson, Ralph Macchio and Petra Nemcova each earned only 22 points on Monday night. Many predicted that Wilkinson and her partner, Louis Van Amstel, would be heading home. The couple danced an unimpressive foxtrot to “Yankee Doodle,” and even though the judges told her that she was improving, she still had a long way to go. “It’s much better than last week,” head judge Len Goodman told her. “It was fun, and it was entertaining.” In the end, it was the supermodel who got booted. On Monday night, Nemcova and her partner quick-stepped to Elvis’ “Viva Las Vegas,” but the judges weren’t impressed. They liked that she handled the fast pace well, but said that this was far from her best dance. The voting public agreed, but Nemcova smiled and said she enjoyed her experience. “It’s been a life-changing journey for me,” the Czech-born model said after learning her fate. “I made amazing friends. Dmitry [Chaplin] put up with me for two months.” Related Photos ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 12 Cast Revealed The 2011 ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Cast’s Movie Past

Earth Day 2011: Environmental Justice For Black Communities?

Read the original here:

This week marks the one year anniversary of the Gulf Oil Spill disaster and the day to honor the earth, April 22nd, Earth Day .  These events brings awareness to the question, what is the future for environmental justice for black communities? Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, shares his thoughts about environmental justice with his article, A Black America Earth Day: Let’s use Earth Day 2011 as an opportunity to raise more awareness in our communities about the importance of environmental concerns and issues.  We have to connect the dots.  The health of our communities is impacted by the environment of our communities.  Did you know that many of the growing lists of so-called “learning disabilities” that affect too many of the children in the Black American community maybe environmentally related to exposures from lead poisoning and other toxic substances laced in many of our neighborhoods?  The overall quality of life in Black America can be and should be improved if we all become more conscious and involved with understanding the importance of demanding and adhering to environmental justice. (Read the entire article) Will.i.am has together with DipDive just released this  video titled “Take Our Planet Back” which focuses on energy, climate and environmental issues and topics. The video calls for citizens and their leaders to deal with the serious environmental problems that our planet faces. The video features clips of Al Gore, montages of the various environmental challenges we face, and will.i.am singing. Watch it: Below you can find the lyrics for Will.I.Am’s music video “Take Our Planet Back”: Al Gore: Today, I challenge our nation to commit to producing 100% of our electricity from renewable energy and truly clean carbon-free sources within 10 years. Calling all the leaders to lead us out the hole Asking all deceivers the things I want to know If we’re so technological Why’re we still burning oil ‘Cause I got a car you plug into the wall that’s faster than a GTO We shot for the stars, put rovers on Mars, make planes like UFOs So why are we borrowin’ money from China to buy oil from the Gulf and destroyin’ the world Al Gore: Every bit of that has to change… Now that’s got to change Now that’s got to change (Chorus x3) We’ll stand up We’ll stand up and take our planet back You and me We’ll stand up We’ll stand up and take our planet back Talkin’ ‘bout we Talkin’ ‘bout we Talkin’ ‘bout Calling all the citizens (Al Gore: Citizens…) Citizens of the land Ask you your politicians (Al Gore: Political Leaders…) All these questions If we fight another war on terror Why aren’t we fighting for the environment We spend a billion dollars on wars in foreign lands But nothin’ on education Nikola Tesla turned the Niagara Falls into energy way back when (Al Gore: Energy…) And we’re still burning coal (Al Gore: Coal…) When you can make electricity with solar and wind (Al Gore: Solar and wind…) Now who’s getting played? You and me And who’s getting paid? (Chorus x3) We’ll stand up We’ll stand up and take our planet back You and me We’ll stand up We’ll stand up and take our planet back Talkin’ ‘bout we Talkin’ ‘bout we, we, we, we I’m askin’ all the citizens to take action (Al Gore: Citizens…) Take action and take back the government Tell the government to start taxin’ pollution Makin’ laws ‘cause that’s the solution It should be against the law to make pollution So if they make products that do what the other products do But they didn’t pollute, what are you gonna choose? Al Gore: We should tax what we burn, not what we earn. To those who say the challenge is not politically viable I suggest they go before the American people and try to defend the status quo And then bear witness to the people’s appetite for dramatic change The time is now.
