Flowchart: “Are You a Terrorist”?

“Am I on a terrorist watchlist? Will I be labeled a terrorist?” Activists ask me questions like this all the time. Now you can find out if you are a terrorist using this convenient flow chart! Click on the image for the full-sized version. And scroll down for information on why the chart flows the way it does… terrorist_flow_chart For more information on each segment of the chart: * When are Militias and Tea Party Members “Terrorists”? * Arizona’s “Show Me Your Papers” Law is About More than Immigration * They Start With “Eco-terrorists,” then There’s a “Blurring of the Lines” * An overview of how animal rights and environmental activists are being labeled the top domestic terrorism threat: “What is the Green Scare?” The terrorism rhetoric of corporations is absurd and can be funny at times, but it has dangerous consequences if we allow it to go unchecked. For example, there are secretive political prisons on U.S. soil for “domestic terrorists.” Daniel McGowan, and environmental activist, is housed there. ‘Glee’ Cast Brings More Than Mere Covers To L.A. Tour Stop

Gleeks help turn live show into massive sing-along as the stars reprise hits from the show. By Aimee Curran Jenna Ushkowitz, Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Amber Riley perform in Los Angeles Thursday Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images LOS ANGELES — Pom-pom pumping, sign holding, dancing Gleeks filled Universal City Walk’s Gibson Amphitheatre Thursday night with ear-piercing levels of pubescent screams, sweat and tears. In the first of their three-night run in Los Angeles, the cast of Fox’s wildly popular “Glee” took the stage to give their fans a full hour of power-packed, musical madness, covering pop hits of the past and present. Pre-taped appearances by stars Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch delightfully kicked off the show as they informed the audience, “You will be barfing.” Performing in character, the cast launched into Journey’s, “Don’t Stop Believing.” Minor pyrotechnics, flashy lights and more technically polished dancing made the performances more than simple re-creations of their TV musical interludes. From the floor-grinding Salt-N-Pepa “Push It” to the finger-snapping jazz of Frank Sinatra’s “Lady Is a Tramp” nobody was sitting down or leaving to use the bathroom. Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and company sang hits covered in the first season of the show — and even a few that haven’t even aired. The cast was able to make every song their own while still managing to maintain the original artist’s integrity. A big fan favorite was Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” which received the loudest cheers as the cast emerged wearing her most memorable costumes. “My favorite was Lady Gaga because she obviously rocks,” “Glee” fan Mike Schubert told MTV News after the show. “To see them bring it alive with all the costumes was awesome.” “Sweet Caroline” elicited screams so loud for show dreamboats, Monteith and Mark Salling, one might have thought Justin Bieber was flipping his hair somewhere close by. Montieth playing drums and Salling casually strolling across the stage playing a red electric guitar did nothing to quell the raging hormones as they lead fans in a massive sing-a-long. Van Halen’s “Jump” was a sure sign that the party was far from over. The audience was treated to a cast display of mattress hopping across the stage, wearing matching blue pajamas and smiles like they did in an episode last fall. Amber Riley’s eye-popping rendition of Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” brought a hush over the crowd, while Lea Michele showed off her vocal range during the Journey mash-up “Faithfully” and “Any Way You Want It.” Closing out the night, the encore of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” and Queen’s “Somebody to Love” left fans standing in a snowstorm of confetti and cheers as the cast bid them goodnight. Die-hard Gleek Emy Setiadi was thrilled with the translation from TV to stage. “The live show is so much better,” she said. “You get to hear all the live vocals. Even if it’s imperfect, all the mistakes are amazing. It’s crazy!” Which “Glee” cover would you want to see live? Share your thoughts in the comments. Britney Spears BS Claim is BS Itself

Britney Spears has a feature on her official site that calls out many of the fake stories printed about her by celebrity gossip publications. It’s actually pretty funny. Is she the one who’s spreading bull$h!t stories this time, though? E! News confirmed twice that Britney Spears was at a b-day party Saturday for hotel owner pal Phil Maloof, despite the story being tagged “bulls#!t” on her site. Maloof’s rep also confirmed it, saying: “Phil thanks Britney Spears and all his friends and supporters of Black Star Beer for celebrating with him on Saturday night.” This after her manager, Adam Leber, posted: “Brit went to Disneyland this weekend – not to a party in Hollywood! See who’s reporting BS,” on her Twitter . Who’s sources are full of BS now, BS? Since the original story, sources have confirmed that the superstar was ushered in by security from an entrance on Argyle Street and set up shop in the VIP area. Why the lies, Team Britney? Because E! reported that Spears showed up at Maloof’s shindig with an unidentified gentleman who was not boyfriend Jason Trawick ? As for the Disneyland story? She was there, alright … on Mother’s Day, a week earlier. Not that anything bad happened at the party. Papa Jamie was there too. In any case, come on Britney. Enough with the BS BS.

Joe Sestak defeats Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania Primary

U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter on Tuesday was defeated in a Democratic primary in his bid for a sixth term after taking the risky step of switching from the GOP. Voters picked U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak as the party's nominee and rejected the 80-year-old Specter in his first Democratic campaign since his Republican Party defection. With 79 percent of precincts reporting, Sestak received 435,630 votes, or 53 percent; Specter received 384,027 votes, about 47 percent. The vote also was a defeat for President Barack Obama, who supported Specter when he abandoned the Republican Party last year. In speaking to supporters at a downtown Philadelphia hotel after the race was called, Specter thanked Obama for his support. Specter said he had called Sestak to congratulate him and tell him “I think it's vital to keep this seat in the Democratic Party and I will support him.” Specter left while holding hands with his wife, Joan. He didn't answer questions from reporters. The moderate Specter had cast his switch as a decision of principle after inflaming the GOP by voting for Obama's economic stimulus bill. But many Democratic voters questioned his motives. Sestak faces Republican Pat Toomey in the fall election. Specter has been a fixture in American politics for three decades and served in the Senate since 1981, and his switch to the Democrats was a theme that dominated the race. Obama and other top Democrats embraced Specter, who used his willingness to cross party lines on key votes to bolster his clout in Congress. Sestak, a retired Navy vice admiral who has represented a suburban Philadelphia district since 2007, accused Specter of switching parties to save his job. He said Specter couldn't be trusted to support Democratic Party values. In the days before the primary, Specter and Sestak also argued over who had the best chance of beating Toomey in the fall. Specter leaned heavily on Obama's endorsement, repeatedly citing a television ad that used footage from a September rally in Philadelphia at which Obama spoke and get-out-the-vote efforts by the key unions backing him. Sestak tried to harness voter anger over political gridlock and the recession, with Pennsylvania's unemployment rate at 9 percent, its highest in more than a added by: UrbanGypsy
