Demi Lovato Addresses Dad’s Death, Thanks Fans for Well Wishes

Demi Lovato has spoken out for the first time since her father’s death . The singer and X Factor judge acknowledged the passing of Patrick Lovato with a Tweet last night, telling her 15 million-plus followers: “I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers. God bless you all, thank you so much love.” Demi’s dad reportedly battled cancer for many years before succumbing to the diseased on Saturday. It’s unclear just what the state of Lovato’s relationship with this parent was at the time, as she said in 2009 that she had not spoken to Patrick in two years. “When somebody lets you down after you’ve been the only one there for them, and so many times, you don’t know what else to do,” Demi said back then. The artist sang about the strained relationship “For the Love of a Daughter,” which was included on her 2010 “Unbroken” album.

Give Him His Free! Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta’s Lil Scrappy Released From Jail After His Petty Probation Pee Problem

The Prince of the South is back on the bricks Lil Scrappy Released From Jail After Turning Himself In To Police According to TMZ reports : Lil Scrappy is a free man … for now … after a dubious pee test led to him being thrown in the slammer, TMZ has learned. As we reported, Scraps turned himself in to ATL authorities yesterday in response to a warrant that had been issued for his arrest. The warrant was issued over an alleged probation violation, stemming from his 2008 pot bust. Scrappy had been ordered to submit to a urine test in March, but according to authorities, he turned in a sample that was cold to the touch and may have been tampered with. Scrappy was asked to submit another cup, and allegedly refused. Scrappy tells TMZ, the warrant was bogus because he never submitted bad pee in the first place. Scrappy was released from jail today after a judge granted his lawyer’s motion to recall the warrant. A hearing is set for May 16 to hash out all the issues. Keep your nose clean young man, it would be a shame for you go to jail before your wedding like Mendeecees. Image via WENN

David Viens, Chef Who Cooked His Wife, Found Guilty of Murder

One of the more gruesome trials in recent memory has come to an end. Earlier this afternoon, David Viens – a Los Angeles chef who admitted to police that he cooked his wife’s remains for four days – was found guilty of second-degree murder. He faces 15 years in prison. The crime took place in 2009. Once in custody, Viens said he and his wife Dawn had gotten into an argument the night prior to her passing. He admitted to tying her up and placing duct tape over her mouth before the couple went to bed. When he awoke in the morning, Dawn was dead and Viens panicked, insisting he never intended to kill her. As a result, he boiled his wife’s 105-pound body in a 55-gallon drum and even dumped some of the evidence in a grease pit at his restaurant. In a recorded interview with authorities that was played for the jury, Viens says: “I just slowly cooked [the body] and I ended up cooking her for four days.” The body of Dawn Viens was never found.
