Better not even think about “putting a smile on your face”… The Garden State doesn’t want any more grins from citizens on their Driver’s License mugs…even if they are happy to be living in Jersey. According to the Daily News: “Your picture means a lot; it’s who you are,” said McNeil, 38, of Sicklerville, N.J. So, when the manager of the Motor Vehicle Commission office in Cherry Hill told her Tuesday that she wasn’t allowed to smile for her driver’s-license picture, she balked – and left, saying that the office’s staff couldn’t adequately explain the smile ban. “Why should we all look like androids, looking mopey? I know there are some people who don’t have good driver’s licenses, but I actually keep all mine,” said McNeil, whose pleasantly smiling image adorns old licenses from the six states in which she’s lived, as well as her debit and credit cards. Turns out, the state really does prefer that its six million drivers scowl rather than smile for the camera. Cue the New Jersey jokes. In January, New Jersey launched new face-recognition software that forbids license applicants from smiling widely or making other exaggerated facial expressions that might confuse the computer. The goal is to catch fraudsters. If a new photo, for example, matches an old one that carries a different name, a red flag goes up, and investigators step in. “That could be someone trying to steal someone else’s identity to get insurance benefits, or someone trying to get out of a DUI by getting a license under another name,” said Mike Horan, spokesman for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. “This helps us weed out fraud.” If facial expressions vary greatly in photos of the same person, the software could incorrectly signal a problem, Horan said. Slight smiles are OK. “Hey-I-won-the-lottery-type smiles” are not, Horan said. “To get an accurate photo, you don’t want an excessively expressive face in the photo.” Pennsylvania and Delaware use the software, too. But “smile/no-smile is not a problem,” said Jan McKnight, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokeswoman. “You can smile in Pennsylvania.” Most states use the face-recognition technology – and some even require fingerprints, according to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. Within hours of Kate Middleton topless pictures burning up the Internet and the pages of French tabloid Closer , the Royal Family is reportedly planning action against the magazine behind these images. A rep for St. James’s Palace just released a statement saying that “legal proceedings for breach of privacy have been commenced today in France” by Kate and William. No further details were included. The move does not come as a shock, considering the family’s swift and forceful reaction to the photos in question. “The incident is reminiscent of the worst excess of the paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so,” said a spokesman for Clarence House, the Prince of Wales’ office, early this morning. But that’s not how Laurence Pieau of Closer sees it. This editor doesn’t see why there’s any fuss being made over the shots at all. “These photos are not in the least shocking,” he told the Agence France-Presse. “They show a young woman sunbathing topless, like the millions of women you see on beaches.” If Pieau actually believed this, of course, it would raise the question: Why run the supposedly mundane pictures in the first place? Wow, I never once in my life thought I’d be writing a “mybieberexperience” so to anyone reading this, honestly, NEVER SAY NEVER. It’s the truth. I’m Sarah and I’m 15 years old. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Okay well this is my Bieber experience! So yeah I live in Pittsburgh, PA right? But I met Justin in L.A. outside of his studio. I drove for 3 days, 14 hours each day, in a tiny car, across the country to California. You can guess why right? To see if I could even get a glimpse of Justin! See I’ve never seen Justin live. Last time he came to my city, I couldn’t afford a ticket to his concert.. so I didn’t get to go. I’ve never seen him in person and I thought it would be the coolest thing if the very first time I saw him in person, I was meeting him! My family thought I drove across the country to help my sister settle into college? But really I would have never gotten into that car and suffered those 14 hour long car rides if my sister didn’t promise to take me to L.A. Well, once we got to California it was 3 days of agonizing waiting/wondering if I would even see him. My sister drove me an hour from where we are at in that horrible L.A. traffic just to see if I could catch a glimpse of him. Well, after an hour and a half driving blindly through traffic and getting lost more than once, we finally pulled up to the dance studio. My heart was beating faster than I could breathe. I was a wreck to say the least. I got out of the car with my brother and headed to the back of the line. I sat down and legit was shaking so badly. I was on the phone with my friend @JDBdreamBelieb and she asked what time it was and I couldn’t even tell her cause I was shaking like crazy. Well I sat down for a little as my sister and her friend Jesse came after parking like a mile away. I met legit some of the SWEETEST beliebers. We talked and they helped calm me down. And kept me from having a crying attack right there, before Justin even came out. So then after like 20 minutes it got all quiet… I was freaking out. Everyone stood up and people kept shushing everyone. Then everyone started walking one way and let me tell you, I was internally screaming my lungs out. Was I actually going to meet the boy who saved my life? The boy who I drove across the country for?! We were waking and I suddenly see this gorgeous amazing looking kid in bright red Supras, grey Chachimama sweats, and a red tank-top and of course his hat. I grabbed my brother’s shoulder to keep from screaming. My brother simply responds with, “Hey look it’s Bieber.” I couldn’t take it. I was so close to crying. I got to the back of the line and waited to meet him. My hands were sweaty and I was breathing like a maniac. These two amazing, wonderful beliebers told me to go in front of them. They said they’ve met him before and the fact that I’ve never seen him before and drove all this way, they said I deserved it! I wanted to cry even more. My brother and sister made a huge deal about how sweet and different beliebers are. “They are so nice, like you guys care for each other. And every time we asked you guys something you guys would say we, like you’re all connected.” All I could answer was, “We’re a family.” ANYWAY. I was next in line to meet him. I was so nervous I felt like vomiting, so gross but true. Finally moment of truth, it was my turn. I walked up to him and he opened his arms for a hug yet I stupidly still asked, “Can I hug you?!” He smiled and was like, “Yeah of course!” And hugged me. Let me tell you, I never wanted to let go. So then we took our pictures and I turned to him before I walked away. Somehow we ended up holding hands as I drifted to the side, I looked in his eyes and I said sincerely from the bottom of my heart, “Justin. Thank you for saving my life.” He was smiling but when I said that his eyes went a bit wide and he looked a little caught off guard. He quickly replied, “Oh my gosh, yeah of course. You’re welcome,” and he was still holding my hands may I add. He looked a bit concerned to me, but like I mean if someone said, “Thanks for saving my life” that basically means they were on the edge of like suicide. Which yeah he saved me from that. But then after he told me that I was like, “No seriously Justin, thank you so so much.” I felt like crying. He squeezed my hand so tight and smiled at me. “Seriously no you’re so welcome I..” He couldn’t like finish his sentence. I smiled so wide and walked away. I broke down crying on the sidewalk legit like 2 seconds after. All I’ve ever dreamed about was telling him how he saved my life, and now the boy of my dreams finally knows. I heard him talking to my brother and sister and I started laughing. Then Angelina and Jade, the two amazing sweet beliebers who let me go ahead of them, came over and hugged me. I was like, “I want to cry but I have no tears!” It was the best day of my life. I got to my car and called my mom. That man, who has a strong tie to the booster he is accusing, says that Sandusky and the booster abused two boys on a private plane in Pennsylvania, a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. “The witness doesn’t know if the boys are victims who have already been identified or not,” the source told Radar. “He claims it happened on a private plane, with no pilot or crew around and that he was an eyewitness. “His claim is being taken seriously by investigators. And they are following up with other potential witnesses.” The “source” goes on to say: “This witness has some baggage,” the source said. “The Feds are going to need to corroborate what he says. But he is adamant that he is telling the truth. And that raises questions about why he didn’t report what he saw at the time. “Unfortunately he’s not the only person involved in this who didn’t do the right thing when they should have.” The child sexual abuse scandal destroyed the reputation and legacy of Penn State football head coach Joe Paterno, led to the conviction of former coach Sandusky on 45 sexual abuse charges and severe NCAA sanctions against the university. But the worst may be still ahead. “If the Feds can prove what this witness is saying then a sickening situation just got worse,” the source said. “The witness does not know who the boys are and if they were from Sandusky’s Second Mile charity. GOP ‘Voter ID Law’ Will Make It More Difficult For Minorities To Vote In PA The GOP is at it again . This time, they’ve put a new state law in place in Pennsylvania requiring residents to present in-state identification to vote. But PA lawmakers feel that the law will make it more difficult for minority residents to vote……most of whom will be voting democrat in the upcoming presidential election. An election official in Pennsylvania has said that he will not enforce the state’s voter I.D. law. Christopher Broach, a Democrat from Colwyn, Penn. told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he would continue to honor the state’s old voting rules. “I am taking the stand against the new Republican voter law and hoping that anyone nationally whom has been elected to an office with the title of judge will do just that,” Broach said. Supporters of the law, whose fate will be decided in a closely watched state court case, say that is necessary to prevent voter fraud. But the state’s attorneys recently stipulated that there was no evidence of in-person voter fraud in the area, and the state had never prosecuted anyone for in-person voter fraud. Critics of the law, passed by the state’s Republican-controlled legislature, say that it will disenfranchise groups that are more likely not to have official state identification, like college students, African Americans and Latinos — groups that are inclined to vote for Democrats.
