Friday Box Office: Accio Moolah! Harry Potter Has $65 Million Night

Well, holy cow. After pulling in $24 million at midnight , the penultimate Potter flick increased its take to a truly magical $65 million in its first day in release. I guarantee you that Warner Bros. execs are alternately high-fiving themselves over having another $65 million night next summer with Part 2, and then secretly calculating how much more they would have made if this one was in 3D. Oh, and some Russell Crowe prison movie self-destructed at number 5. Your Friday box office is here.

Hometown Girl Malin Åkerman on the Toronto Premiere of Bang Bang Club

Pick any random film that’s opened in the last year, and odds are about 50/50 that Malin Åkerman starred in some capacity. OK, so I exaggerate, but let me put it this way: A week after interviewing Åkerman for her film The Romantics — which opened last week in limited release — the Swedish-Canadian actress is in Toronto for the world premiere of her latest effort The Bang-Bang Club . Busy!

The Hills Recap: Brody Jenner is "Seeing Someone"

As we gear up toward what can only be described as an epic series finale July 13, the penultimate episode of The Hills certainly featured a lot of things going on. Some of them possibly even real! Heidi Montag’s sister Holly and Darlene Egelhoff, their mom, lamented that Heidi has gone totally off the rails. They’ve been trying to reach her but can’t. Kristin Cavallari puts it all out there and says she has feelings for Brody Jenner , but he isn’t really reciprocating the fake love. Lo and Stephanie also star. Here’s THG’s recap of Tuesday’s The Hills , “Loves Me Not” … O RLY? YA RLY: Brody ignores Kristin and texts “someone else .” Stephanie, Lo and Holly talk about the ca-ra-zy drama that went down in Costa Rica over lunch. Gotta rehash all the details, and totally naturally. Plus 5 . Brody says he’s hanging out with a new girl. How come The Hills calls “Ryan Cabrera” by first and last name, yet won’t say Avril Lavigne at all? Minus 5 . Brody’s friend Josh, who races motorcycles, introduces himself to Stephanie Pratt, and the pair have an instant connection – they don’t drink. Plus 4 . Holly Montag picks her mom up from the airport. They’ll have to wait for Heidi to come around. Minus 3 for falsely getting our hopes up for Speidi, Hills . Kristin tells Stacie how Brody wants to talk and it’s, like, her chance to finally tell him how she feels. Minus 6 , because it’s really the producers’ chance. SIDEKICK STEPH: She-Pratt’s falling fast and hard for a new man . Holly tries calling, but her voicemail isn’t activated. We’re sure that’s real, much like Spencer’s apology to LC, which she wasn’t actually listening to. Minus 5 . Scott surprises Lo on their one year anniversary by asking her if she wants to move in together. Plus 7 , because while we really don’t care, they’re very sweet! Kristin lays it all out there. Brody says he’s sorry, but he’s met someone else. Minus 14 because we know this, and Kristin does too, and it’s a famous musician. Nearly lost for words, Darlene tells Holly that since Heidi Montag has been gone, it feels like she’s mourning the loss of a child. Not at all melodramatic. Plus 8 . Kristin cries when she tells Lo that Brody rejected her and is seeing someone else. Bull$h!t, since she’s dating Miguel Medina , a Hills cameraman! Minus 20 . TOTAL: -27 . SEASON: -41 .

All Time Low Recall ‘Gagging’ During ‘Silent Library’ Stunt

Pop/punk band’s episode airs tonight at 5 p.m. ET on MTV. By Kyle Anderson, with reporting by Matt Harper All Time Low appear on “Silent Library” on June 29 Photo: MTV MTV’s “Silent Library” has made a name for itself by putting people (some famous, others not) in high-pressure (and usually extremely wacky) situations to test their ability to keep their reactions quiet. Such stunts include the “Milk Man” (which saw a male contestant try to survive an attack by a breast pump), “Not Happy Hour” (a game where five contestants have to consume a disgusting scorpion bowl in 30 seconds) and the surreal “Sad Bee” (wherein an old man wearing a bee costume shocks a contestant with a taser). Baltimore pop/punk band All Time Low are no strangers to wackiness, which is why they made for an excellent foil on the show; their episode airs Tuesday (June 29) at 5 p.m. ET on MTV. According to the band, the show is still up to its old tricks. “We all threw up, and it was awful,” All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth told MTV News during the penultimate stop on the Bamboozle Roadshow in Philadelphia. The group was subject to a stunt called “The Unexpected Mexican,” which saw bandmembers Gaskarth and Rian Dawson attempt to eat nachos with some rather eclectic toppings. “It was hot mustard, tartar sauce and wasabi paste,” Gaskarth said. “And it was just covered. None of those sauces are even good. I started gagging the first bite.” “I think they thought, ‘All Time Low is a bunch of jokesters, so we’ll give them everything that is sinful and wrong,’ ” Dawson said. “I threw up, and I was just watching them,” guitarist Jack Barakat added. All Time Low ended up on the show at least partially because of a Twitter campaign staged by their fans. “Apparently, our fans like to see us suffer,” Gaskarth joked. “But it was fun. We had a good time.” “Silent Library” is coming off its hottest season yet. The second batch of episodes featured stars like Justin Bieber, Jim Jones, Asher Roth, Aubrey O’Day and members of We the Kings and Forever the Sickest Kids. In addition to the members of All Time Low,the third season will feature guest appearances from members of bands like NeverShoutNever, Hey Monday, Honor Society and Anarbor. All Time Low’s episode of “Silent Library” airs Tuesday (June 29) at 5 p.m. ET on MTV. Related Videos Silent Library | Season 3 | Behind the Scenes with All Time Low Related Artists All Time Low

Demi Lovato Thanks Fans for Joe Jonas Relationship

Demi Lovato isn’t simply speaking publicly for the first time about boyfriend Joe Jonas. She’s positively gushing over the singer and even thanking fans for getting them together! In an interview with Us Weekly , Demi says it was “scary” to come out “to the public eye,” but… “I think ultimately, everyone who knows us knows that we’ll always be best friends, no matter what happens… We’ve always had an incredible bond, an incredible friendship. He knows me better than I know myself, and I know him better than he knows himself.” Aww, is it getting dusty in here, or is that just us? Interestingly, Demi went on to give you and me credit for her and Joe’s relationship. “There’s been so many times where if it wasn’t for our fans, I don’t know if we’d be together, because they’ve opened up my eyes to seeing – because I thought I was the only one who had a crush,” she said. To that, we have a pair of replies: You’re welcome, Demi. You were incredible on Grey’s Anatomy last week.

Chad Ochocinco 86’d From Dancing with the Stars

Chad Ochocinco’s run on Dancing with the Stars came to an end Tuesday. The Cincinnati Bengals standout and partner Cheryl Burke were eliminated on the penultimate week of competition, with Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy joining them in the bottom two, but advancing to next Monday’s finals. Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough and Evan Lysacek Trebunskaya await Erin and Maks to square off for the Mirror Ball title. Chad’s sad to go, but not bitter. “This was awesome,” he said. “I enjoyed the journey. I got some great criticism. I met awesome people, including the beautiful Cheryl Burke. I already won.” While Ochocinco won high praise and admirable scores (although still the lowest of the night) Monday, it wasn’t enough to put him through to the final round. As Len Goodman stated Monday, Ochocinco was the only remaining contestant with no dance training, so the fact that he got to the semifinals is impressive. As for his relationship with Cheryl? Brooke Burke tried to ask Ochocinco about their “special” relationship. “Excuse me, say what?” jokingly replied Ochocinco. “We will remain friends,” he said, brushing off the romance rumors. Oh well.
