According to USA Today , an Aeroflot plane made an emergency landing in Moscow right as its back end was engulfed in flames. The Aeroflot captain who landed the Superjet 100 aircraft said a lightning strike and full fuel tanks might have had something to do with the fire which left 41 people dead. Aeroflot Flight SU1492 was scheduled to leave from Moscow to the northwestern Russian city of Murmansk on Sunday. However, it returned to the Moscow airport less thank 30 minutes after taking off because lightning hit the plane, according to passengers and pilot Denis Evdokimov. He told Russian media that there was a “bright flash and a bang” moments before the crew started an emergency landing. He added that contact with air traffic controllers was hindered by the apparent lightning strike. Evdokimov said that the crew was left to perform a manual landing and they managed to establish radio contact for “a couple of words” to air traffic control personnel, who guided them down to the runway. The jet had a rough landing, striking the runway several times, which probably damaged the fuel tanks and caused the fire to ignite in the rear of the fuselage, the pilot explained. “The speed wasn’t high, it was normal according to the flight manual,” Evdokimov said. However, the jet was heavy with fuel, which added to the challenge of the landing, according to Evdokimov. A clip of the landing shows the plane riding the runway amid huge flames and a trail of thick black smoke. Moments later, passengers exit the emergency slides. Of the 41 people who were killed, most of them suffered smoke inhalation and many had serious burns. Passenger Mikhail Savchenko wrote on Facebook, “huge grief for everyone who lost their family and loved ones.” He explained that he survived with a few bruises. “No, I didn’t drag my suitcases,” he said. “No, the moment I was filming, there were no people around me that I could help. But believe me, it’s not much easier.” Aeroflot said they would provide emergency assistance to survivors and was flying family members to Moscow free of charge. “Aeroflot extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of those who lost their lives,” the airline said in a statement. “The crew did everything in its power to save passenger lives and provide emergency assistance to those involved. Tragically, they were unable to save all of those aboard.” The Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal inquiry to figure out if aircraft operation safety rules were violated. Such an investigation is standard business in crashes that claim the lives of two or more passengers.
As it turns out, Justin Bieber has it all wrong. The singer recently opened up on Instagram about his struggle with mental health and how anxiety is destroying his life . This is mistaken, however. The artist is destroying his own life by saying really dumb and really insensitive things. Late on Friday, Bieber shared a tribute to Chris Brown, one that didn’t merely paint a rosy picture of the polarizing star… … but one that put Brown in the musical class of two all-time greats. In this Instagram post, Bieber published an image that featured the phrase “The Legendary Equation” at the top and included photos of Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur and Brown. “MJ plus 2 Pac equals CB,” the snapshot reads. This alone would have been controversial enough on its own. Michael Jackson is considered the King of Pop. Tupac is considered the greatest rapper of all-time. Is Brown really at their level? However, Bieber stepped into scalding hot water that extended far beyond one’s music taste when he went on to explain his reasoning here. “everyone wants to wait til people die To give them the credit they deserve. I’m calling it now when CB passes away after a long full life, you will miss what you had in front of you the whole time,” Bieber wrote as a caption to this picture, adding: trust me watch you will see. the people who have over looked this mans talent because of a mistake he made.. you need to reevaluate! Love you @chrisbrownofficial. You caught that, didn’t you? Bieber brushed off Brown’s infamous assault of Rihanna as a mere “mistake.” Brown, of course, beat his then-girlfriend bloody back in 2009. He slammed his fists into the singer’s face multiple times, eventually agreeing to a plea agreement that resulted in five years of probation and six months of community service and nothing more. In the many years since, Brown has been accused on other occasions of beating women and of flipping out in an extreme manner — sometimes with a gun . In other words: The Rihanna incident would have been enough of a reason to cancel Chris Brown forever, but he has shown in numerous other instances that it was far from a one-time mistake. The guy is a violent, entitled, dangerous thug. But Justin Bieber loves him! He has gushed about Brown often in the past , setting a truly terrible example for all of his young fans. And many social media users called him out this week for doing so. “Domestic abuse aint a mistake, especially when its done repeatedly. Im sick to my stomach, definitely unfollowing you, mad disappointed,” one person remarked. Another referenced wife Hailey Baldwin and added: “What if Rihanna was Hailey (sic)? Would you say the same?” “it wasn’t a mistake. it was a crime,” another individual wrote. Brown, as you might expected, reacted differently to Bieber’s kind words. “I love you man! Thank you for believing in me. Your star shines so bright and your heart is unmatched!” he wrote on Bieber’s post, concluding: “You are a king but more importantly you were here to inspire and create endless possibilities bro! I’m with ya till the wheels fall off and when they do .. we gone get some new wheels.” God, let’s hope not. Justin Bieber shared this black-and-white selfie on Instagram along with a lengthy, largely religious message. “Don’t stop fighting the battle has already won,” Justin begins. He advises his fans and followers to “fight for what you love and who you love.” Justin then encourages them: “don’t let fear and anxiety win.” He is clearly speaking from personal experience. Justin’s heartfelt caption then takes a more explicitly religious tone. He writes: “god has not given us a spirit of fear but of power love and of a sound mind!” “I haven’t believed the truth about myself,” the Biebs laments. “I haven’t believed I am loved,” he admits. “I haven’t believed I am forgiven.” Justin confesses: “it’s a hard thing for me to wrap my head around.” “I hang my head in shame,” Justin Bieber’s emotional post continues. “And,” he writes. “I wallow in sadnes about the the people who have betrayed me.” Betrayed ? That took one hell of a turn. “Jesus has given me freedom,” Justin expresses. “And the persuit of getting to know his character is never ending.” “Gods character never changes,” he adds. “He is the same yesterday now and forever. He is always good!.” “I won’t be afraid to be vulnerable before him,” Justin says. “His power is made strong in our weakness.” “God isn’t afraid of your pain and your brokenness,” he writes. “He actually welcomes it.” “Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest!” Justin quotes. “These are words from Jesus!” “There is hope and it’s in him!!” he gushes. “He loves and cares for you!” In addition to therapy and medication, a person can turn to spiritual practices or religious beliefs as an added comfort while battling any sort of mental illness. “For god so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever believes him wont die but have eternal life!” Justin continues. These comments should not come as a surprise to Justin’s fans, who know that he is such a devout Christian that he canceled his tour a couple of years ago. “You are that whoever and he accepts you as you are!!” he writes. “He loves and forgives you and welcomes you into his arms every time you mess.” Justin’s caption concludes: “He is a perfect and loving god who adores you!” That post might not mean much to some of Justin’s fans, but to those who share his views, it could be very reassuring. Either way, his fans are happy to see him express himself. In addition to this powerful post, Justin shared a meme in which he and Ed Sheeran were presented as “crippled with anxiety.” Most people with anxiety disorders try to avoid using “crippled,” out of respect for those with physical disabilities. But anxiety can be intensely debilitating, even to people who otherwise seem to have everything going for them. Mental illness can be just as cruel as physical ailments, but sometimes they are dismisses as “invisible illness.” If someone says that their anxiety is debilitating, they’re not joking, and there’s nothing weak or wrong about them. That debate continued in a major way Sunday when one of Sanders’ top campaign staffers, a Black woman, defended the Vermont senator’s appeal to the coveted demographic. But that appeal was uncertain after Sanders, one of eight Democratic White House hopefuls at the event billed as “the first-ever Presidential candidate forum focused on women of color,” was asked about his plan to stem the rise of white nationalism. The Vermont senator’s familiar refrain that he once marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. elicited groans, jeers and boos, suggesting the audience wanted to hear new talking points instead of those from the 2016 election. Former Ohio Sen. Nina Turner , who is Sander’s campaign co-chair, appeared on the AM Joy show on MSNBC Sunday morning and cited statistics to show the senator was support from the vital voting bloc of Black women. . @ninaturner : The @MorningConsult poll shows very clearly that almost half of #BernieSanders ' supporters are of color. He's polling over 50% with women in general. His multitude of past racial blunders — remember when he said that white people who didn’t vote for Stacey Abrams “are not necessarily racist” because they felt “uncomfortable” voting for a Black candidate? — have also been far from a good look for Sanders. Nevertheless, Sanders was still in second place in the most recent Democratic presidential nomination poll published by Real Clear Politics. She can’t be President of The United States if she doesn’t pass the smell test with African-American women. During the She The People Forum in Houston on Wednesday, Warren spoke directly to the issues that she has her sights on that would directly improve the lives of Black women. Here’s what she said according to FoxNews : “And there is a specific problem, as you rightly identified, for women of color who are three, four times more likely to die in childbirth,” Warren said. “And here’s the thing, even after we do the adjustments for income, for education, this is true across the board. This is true for well-educated African American women, for wealthy African American women, and the best studies that I’m seeing put it down to just one thing, prejudice,” she added. “That doctors and nurses don’t hear African American women’s medical issues the same way that they hear the same things from white women.” That’s pretty direct. Warren’s plan to rectify this problem is to offer incentives to hospitals who manage to balance the infant mortality rate and remove certain funding if the rate begins to increase.
