Colin Kaepernick has earned both praise and outrage for his bold, silent protest against the killing of unarmed black men. His protest also ended his NFL career. He has been a free agent since 2016. He sued the NFL for conspiring to keep him off of the field. And now that lawsuit has been settled. Attorneys Mark Geragos and Ben Meiselas released a joint statement on Friday, February 15. “For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and [Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid],” the statement begins. It continues: “have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL.” “As a result of those discussions,” the statement reads. “The parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances.” “The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement,” the statement concludes. “So there will be no further comment by any party.” This settlement is a long time coming. As you may recall, Kaepernick filed a grievance agains tthe NFL and its owners in late 2017. He accused them of colluding to keep him off of the field. Kaepernick became “controversial” in 2016 for peacefully kneeling during the anthem as a form of silent protest. But though he was protesting the murders of unarmed black men by police, who then go unpunished, some political forces made him a target. They present him and his protest as anti-American. He accuses the NFL of responding to this controversy by conspiring to sabotage his career. Eric Reid was the first to join Kaepernick’s silent protest. The NFL Player’s Association filed a similar grievance against the NFL in 2018 on Reid’s behalf. “We continuously supported Colin and Eric from the start of their protests,” the NFLPA said Friday in a statement to ESPN. The NFLPA “participated with their lawyers throughout their legal proceedings and were prepared to participate in the upcoming trial.” They did all of this “in pursuit of both truth and justice for what we believe the NFL and its clubs did to them.” “We are glad that Eric has earned a job and a new contract,” the statement concludes. “And we continue to hope that Colin gets his opportunity as well.” Fortunately, Colin Kaepernick’s misfortunes were alleyed. Nike decided to go all in, placing Kaepernick front and center on their campaign in 2018. The controversial move had avowed racists throwing away or destroying their Nike shoes. Just days ago, a store that had removed all Nike products from its shelves closed because of sales losses. Womp womp. Nike, on the other hand, saw massive sales in 2018. Their move not only supported Kaepernick when he needed it, but signaled something very affirming. Ultimately, being progressive was the more profitable move than capitulating to racists. That should be encouragement for all of us. Kaepernick has been a controversial figure for multiple reasons. To racists and others in Donald Trump’s base, he was a target because he’s a black man taking a stand for what he believes in. It’s interesting to note that the people who complain about louder, less convenient protests tend to say “protest like Dr. King would!” Their attempt to weaponize Dr. Martin Luther King is clearly empty words, since Kaepernick’s protest is as silent and peaceful as a living human can be. On the Left, Kaepernick was controversial because he did not vote in the 2016 election. Many find it difficult to imagine how someone could risk (and lose) his career for a political cause, yet refuse to do his civic duty and vote for a better world. Ultimately, though, Kaepernick is a politically significant and widely loved figure. And no, it’s not just because he’s really, really, ridiculously good-looking. It’s also not just because of his skill on the field. Kaepernick and Reid took a stand against white supremacy, against Trump, and against the NFL, which has been characterized as one of the world’s most predatory businesses. It is widely assumed that Kaepernick and Reid have made a substantial amount of money in this secret settlement. If so, good for them. However, it is unlikely that we will ever see confirmation of how much of a payout they received.

It is with heavy hearts that we deliver this bad news. Or, rather, this bhad news. Last week, Danielle Bregoli’s reality series debuted. Even though the premiere was years after Bhad Bhabie first rose to viral fame, the ratings were mind-bogglingly high. The day we have always feared has arrived. Danielle Bregoli’s reality series, Bringing Up Bhabie , premiered on February 4. The title is a reference to her stage name, Bhad Bhabie, under which she has launched a genuinely successful, record-breaking music career. The series did not debut on normal channels or even on a “traditional” streaming service. Instead, Danielle made her reality debut as a Snapchat Original. That’s weird, right? Especially since Mark Zuckerberg has been using Instagram Stories to chip away at Snapchat just like he is at Western democracy. But that’s not why Bringing Up Bhabie is making such a splash. TMZ reports that Bringing Up Bhabie was viewed 10 million times on Snapchat … within the first 24 hours. Those viewing figures are absolutely phenomenal. In contrast, successful, long-running reality series might average 1 or 2 million viewers per episode. Danielle’s reps point out that Keeping Up With The Kardashians only gets about 1.5 million viewers, on average, per episode. This is not the first time that Danielle has absolutely stunned with her performance. Her rap career took off quickly, and shattered records for her age. She also has a certified gold single, which is quite the accomplishment at any age. Danielle has also starred in music video and has a very lucrative beauty and makeup endorsement deal. Her music empire also includes a 25-city tour. Remember, she’s only 15 years old — she will turn 16 late next month. Her career is just getting started . You know, there are some who consider Danielle to be the cursed lovechild of Florida Man and Florida Woman. (Yes, in case you have forgotten, she is very much from Florida) Danielle rose to fame at 13 for her bad behavior — with acts so outlandish that she had a police record. She is now on probation, and is expected to remain on probation until she turns 18. She insulted Dr. Phil (to his face, not just behind his back like everyone else) and challenged his entire audience to a fight. That challenge became a meme, and she was able to use that momentum to remain astonishingly relevant. If you really want something to keep you awake at night, TMZ reports that Danielle has further career aspirations. They’re told that she wants to dip her toes into the world of television (not just on Snapchat) and even the movie business. Imagine turning on your television and seeing Bhad Bhabie as a guest star on Law & Order: SVU. Imagine going to the movies and seeing a movie trailer featuring the Cash Me Ousside girl herself. 90 Day Fiance star Anfisa Nava is ready for the next chapter of her life. One that is much more challenging and physically demanding than finding her love at first ‘like’ . After finding her match made in heaven TLC, Anfisa needed another project to focus on, so she is shifting to bodybuilding. On Monday, February 11 she took to Instagram to share an overblown before and after body transformation photo, and she definitely took an impressive turn. According to Us Weekly , she started by sharing a slide of her thong-clad butt in front of the camera inviting fans to scroll through her transformation. The second pic shared a full-length photo of her body in a one-piece teal bathing suit next to a current photo of her in a teal bikini. “Which do you prefer,” she asked her followers, “before or after?” And while the before photo shows an also sexy Anfisa, which was taken just a year ago after she moved to the US from Russia, the after picture shows her noticeably slimmer and extremely muscular. Fans have been following her weight loss ride since December 2018 when the Moscow native first shared photos of her “toned arms and legs and six-pack abs,” according to US . She announced on Instagram that her weight loss was actually coming from her strength-training hobby. The reality star became interested in fitness after husband, Jorge Nava, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison after being caught with 293 pounds of marijuana. ( what?) “To fill the void that I felt after Jorge was sentenced and I was left on my own I decided to try to stay busy and do what I enjoy the most and it was working out,” she explained via social media. “And ONE DAY I want to take it on a higher level and compete in NPC bikini division.” Telling from her already successful journey it seems as though her fantasy could easily become her reality. There aren’t many of Anfisa’s before photos on her Instagram according to US , because as she noted in February, she doesn’t like to post “unflattering photos” from her so-called “thic” times. And I’m sure most of the world can agree that her “thic” times are far from unflattering. But at least we know she isn’t leaning on photoshop to falsely create her desired figure. The 90 Day Fiance alum strives to show that muscles, in fact, are feminine. And to all the people who say “lifting makes you look manly.” She fights back by sharing a lacy lingerie photo where she captioned it: “k.” The gym enthusiast also partners with detox tea company, Teami, which she claims was the cure to her bloating and even helped construct her six-pack. “I’ve found a new passion for working out and eating healthy,” she wrote on December 2018 while showing off her abs and advertising the healthful tea. Like most Insta famous users, Anfisa has had her share of online trolls. But she wasn’t scared to confront them by saying “it feels frustrating when some of you try to knock me down for doing what I love and enjoy.” “So if you don’t want to see anything other than #90DayFiance related stuff and you want to keep commenting nasty things under my pictures, please unfollow me and move on.” The gym guru is not messing around and she’s got the muscles to back up her voice. I don’t believe it, not around here … Half the people are gay and the other half are black.” On Sunday, Chicago police said Smollett has yet to turn over data from his cellphone to verify that he was on the phone with his music manager, Brandon Moore, when he was attacked. Not only that she called out BET for sending out that “Nicki Minaj’s getting dragged by her lace front” tweet in response to her trophy. “It’s not my style for people to put other people down to uplift somebody else, that’s not my style and that’s not what I’m with and I don’t support that,” said Cardi. “However, I been taking a lot of s*** today, I’m seeing a lot of bulls*** today and I saw a lot of s*** last night. And I’m sick of this s*** I worked hard for my motherf***g album.” According to Cardi, she had support last year over “Bodak Yellow” but suddenly she’s getting pushback. Not only that she recorded “Invasion of Privacy” while heavily pregnant with baby Kulture all while detractors claimed her career was over because she was with child. “I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow,’ everybody was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed, Cardi got snubbed.’ Now this year’s a f****g problem?” she said. “My album went two-time platinum, my n***. And every chart that there was, my album was always top 10. Number one album as well. “I f***g worked my a** off, locked myself in the studio for three months, my n***, then went to sleep in my own bed, sometimes for four days straight, pregnant. On last Monday's intense episode of The Bachelor , Colton Underwood walked away and seemed to quit the show. He didn't really , of course, but ABC did conclude the installment by fading to black before even airing a rose ceremony, telling fans the storyline would “be continued” this week. Those were the circumstances under which we turned in to The Bachelor yesterday, curious about Colton and where his mind is at these days. But we ended this episode with thoughts about two suitors instead, following their historic decision to truly quit the show. We Started This Week with a Rose Ceremony Gotta make up for not showing it last week, right? Almost right off the bat, Onyeka is sent packing after her explosive fight with Nicole in Miami. 2. What About Nicole? She got the early boot, too, of course. 3. We Move to the Group Date… The women competed in martial arts prior to going to a party, at which Sydney confronted Colton about giving other women more opportunities than her. 4. Why No One-on-One Date? Colton had no answer for Sydney. It’s not like he even picks who is rewarded with these outings. “I feel like ever since someone’s like, ‘Hey, you’re The Bachelor,’ it’s a lot of pressure. Everybody expects me to have everything figured out, and I don’t. I don’t have it figured out,” Colton told Sydney during this emotional chat. “I’m not naive to the fact that there’s other people here and I know every relationship is so different.” 5. Tyler Baltierra just learned the hard way: You really can’t have fun on the Internet. Not even when you joke about all the strangers out there who fantasize about riding your joystick in bed. Confused? Allow us to explain… The veteran Teen Mom OG cast member turned a few heads of his Twitter earlier this month when he retweeted someone who had tagged him in a rather X-rated message. It read as follows: “Last night I had a sex dream about [Tyler Baltierra] yeah… so there’s that revelation.” Weird and random, but whatever, right? It’s still flattering! And Tyler basically responded as such. “Dude I swear, I see posts from people about having sex dreams with me at least once a day hahaha!” he Tweeted. “Apparently I’ve been getting around in the dreamworld.” This seems like a totally normal and harmless response. But try telling that to some folks on the World Wide Web. “This is so inappropriate, as a married man to post,” wrote one troll, somehow thinking Tyler was betraying wife Catelynn by simply noting that a bunch of folks out there evidently fantasize about his naked body. Tyler snapped back at this individual as follows: I told @CatelynnLowell about it & you will NEVER believe what she did!? She laughed her ass off! I know, I know, it’s gotta be shocking to everyone that we can joke with each other about such “sensitive” issues lol! Especially as sensitive as one’s inability to control dreams. Well said, dude. This was/is perhaps a sensitive topic for Tyler because he recently requested a 30-day break from his marriage. Many people interpreted this as meaning Tyler wanted to sleep around, prompting an angry reply from Baltierra. “When you say ‘separation,’ everyone’s like, ‘Oh my god, a separation?” It’s not like we’re seeing other people or we’re not talking at all or not spending time with each other,” Tyler previously told Us Weekly about his quasi, temporary split from Catelynn. Tyler’s own father actually asked his son a short while ago when he wanted to take a hiatus because he wanted to have sex with a new woman. And this belief clearly bothers Tyler a lot. “The main goal is to stay with my wife and live this life,” Tyler insisted in this same Us Weekly interview. He added at the time: “We love each other. It’s crazy because when you do grow up with each other, no one can really understand the bond. There is no explanation for it. “It’s hard for people like my dad, who’s been in prison his whole life and never really had a serious adult relationship, to relate. Matt Roloff is raising a whole batch of interesting questions these days about his personal life. And, by extension, his professional life as well. Witih Little People, Big World on an extended hiatus (come on, TLC, tell us when it’s coming back already!), Matt has been making the most of his time away from the television cameras. As anyone who frequents the reality star’s Instagram page on a regular basis knows well, he’s spending most of this time with Caryn Chander. Is the couple finally engaged after well over a year of dating? Not yet, Chandler herself recently said in response to a question she’s been asked a lot of late. But it’s clear this is a topic that is far from taboo between the pair. Now, Roloff has once again raised the possibility that not only if he in this relationship for the very long-term… … but he also may be done with life on his family’s farm for good. Six days ago, Matt told social media followers that he was departing the Oregon residence for a “few weeks, adding simply: “next stop … Arizona …to visit with my folks (papa and huny) this coming week.” Then, this past Friday, Chandler shared the above photo of her and Roloff holding hands, penning as a caption to the snapshot: “Yay for Sunshine (but it’s chilly) here in AZ …. Excited that Matt’s parents fly in today !!!!” Yup. Caryn had dinner with Matt’s mother on her birthday. We told you this romance was serious! Roloff surprised fans awhile back when he said he was moving to Arizona . He later made it clear that the home he and Chandler purchased would just be a vacation house, but the decision has still left Little People, Big World viewers afraid for the show’s future. We know it’s coming back for another season… but beyond that? Audrey Roloff and Jeremy Roloff quit the series last summer; Amy may soon get engaged to Chris Marek; Jacob has been done with the program for awhile now; and Matt is at least less dedicated to the farm than in years past. We don’t blame any of these relatives from moving on, of course. The series has been on the air since 2006. The Roloffs actually set a world record last year for starring in the longest-running, family-focused reality show in small screen history. At some point, though, it has to come to an end. Will that point arrive soon? Will it be spurred on by Matt’s growing affection for the warm weather of Arizona? And would you keep watching if Matt were to leave? So many questions.
