Dua Lipa Understand Social Media in Lingerie of the Day

Dua Lipa is some clickbait who got a record deal being clickbait…. You know singing other people’s song, the lesson taught in Social Media 101… Produce content people are googling or searching on youtube, then rip it off with your tits out, and the follower count will grow and grow and grow…. It’s funny to me that it’s just that easy for some people, yet other people just try so hard to make it on social media. It’s not like the big brands are that sophisticated, they’ll do anything or buy anything or throw money at anything that has a following…to get a piece of the action witout having to invest in building a audience like they used to do in the past. Sure quality is going down, you get what you pay for, but at least this trash gets naked enough on her social media, the other kind of clickbait…and at least it’s not a top 10 list…the worst kind of clickbait… The post Dua Lipa Understand Social Media in Lingerie of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

Alaskan Bush People: Renewed for Season 9… with a Catch!

A year ago ago at this time, we were unsure if Alaskan Bush People would return for an eighth season. To be frank, we were unsure whether Ami Brown would even be alive right now. The veteran reality star had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and her prognosis was grim. But here we are now, and, we’re so very happy to say, here Ami is now: still alive, still kicking, still starring on Alaskan Bush People. The Discovery Channel hit recently wrapped filming on Season 8, which focused on the family moving from Alaska to Washington because Ami had to be closer to doctors who could assist with her pressing medical needs. It hasn’t been an easy adjustment, especially because the Browns can never go back home , but it beats the alternative, right? Again: Ami is alive. And now we’ve received word that the show is as well. Alaskan Bush People is coming back for Season 9. With Ami on the mend, the central storyline will move from her health battle to the struggles of Matt Brown, who announced last month that he is headed for rehab . This is bad news for the family, but actually positive news from the view of Discovery Channel executives. It has given them new content for future episodes. “Everyone is interested to see if he is able to overcome his addiction battle,” an insider tells Radar Online of the reaction to Matt’s admission. Upon confirming he is seeking professional assistance, this is what Brown said to People Magazine: “I struggle with substance abuse, and after a year of ups and downs, I decided to return to treatment. “I’m really grateful for everyone’s support and hope to have my life back on track soon.” Matt is the oldest of all Ami and Billy’s children. Back in 2016, he checked into treatment after being arrested for DUI in Juneau, Alaska. According to Radar Online, he remained on the straight and narrow, fully on the wagon… until last year, when he started drinking again to cope with his his mother’s tragic diagnosis. A terminal illness for a parent is an understandable trigger for anyone that has dependency issues. In an interview with People, Ami touched on Matt having to go to rehab prior to the Season 8 finale being shot and said: “It’s hard not having one of my babies here with us. He was so strong for me, and I want to be strong for him.” We wish him the best. And we’re excited for Season 9! View Slideshow: Alaskan Bush People: 13 Secrets They Don’t Want You to Know

How Black Women Can Get Their Finances In Order And Live Their Best Lives

Continue reading here:

Source: vorDa / Getty Black women are now the most educated group in the country , which means it’s natural we have more money at our fingertips. However, as anyone who has ever dealt significantly in the financial arena knows, just because you make money that doesn’t automatically mean you know what to do with it. It’s easy to neglect investing, saving and making other sound decisions with your money, in favor of spending it on things you want instead of things you need to provide you with a comfortable life long after your working days are behind you. Culturally, Black people don’t utilize their finances the way they should in comparison to their non-white peers, but that has a lot to do with not making as much and being afforded the same opportunities. When you know better, you do better, so we spoke to Tiffany Aliche (known as The Bugetnista) and AttiQuewa Green (known as That Finance Chick), black women who are financial experts and filled with sage advice, to give us some tips on how to get your finances to where they should be and how to make your money work for you even while you’re sleeping. This is the year to level up…and that definitely includes your finances! Hello Beautiful: What do you think are the biggest obstacles between black women and their finances? Tiffany Aliche: The biggest obstacle for black women surrounding their finances is thinking that we need to manage it all on their own, and asking for help is a sign of weakness. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength. I had a period after getting laid off from my job where I felt ashamed. It was isolating. Nothing gets solved in isolation. This is what’s so powerful about my Facebook forum, the Live Richer Dream Catchers Group. Over 300,000 members are in the group. I see women daily getting support from each other. They share stories of how getting advice on building credit, repaying debt, and saving has completely changed their financial outlook. AttiQuewa Green: I think the biggest obstacles black women have when dealing with our finances is finding a way to end the cycle of financial illiteracy for ourselves and finding our financial comfort zone to meet our goals. Often times, it’s up to us to learn how to “do better” with our money when we didn’t realize there was an issue in the first place. Then once we get over that hump, we have to silence the voices around us saying that our ambitions are too much for our current circumstances. For example: for the woman barely making ends meet aspiring to make six figures so she doesn’t have to figure out which bill not to pay for the month and maybe be able to travel once in a while. Or the most insulting obstacle in my opinion, silencing the old traditional or insecure voices telling us not to intimidate our men by making more than them. HB: How do you feel about the belief that black people lack the abundance of generational wealth of other races, thus leaving them behind financially? Aliche: History’s impact on our ability to generate wealth can’t be ignored. But I don’t believe that the black community lacks the capacity to build wealth for future generations. Abundance is all around us, we just need to give our community the right tools to accumulate it. Creating affordable tools with strategies to build wealth is my passion. Green: I believe it’s true. The historical events involving slavery through mortgage redlining has set us back tremendously, but I also believe that we don’t have to stay where we are. We cannot continue to play the blame game as it does nothing for us. It’s all about educating yourself, your family & community to get ahead. There are so many tools and resources available to us that can allow us to create generational wealth including, but definitely not limited to, having multiple sources of passive income. HB: At what age do you recommend sitting down with a young black woman and teaching her the basics of financial responsibility? Aliche: I’m working on a children’s book right now teaching children how to manage money. I also worked on a financial literacy bill to make financial education required in schools. The basics of financial responsibility should be taught to young black women right along with reading and writing at a very young age. Simple lessons like saving an allowance and giving back has a long-term positive impact as they transition into their teenage and young adult years. Green: As soon as possible. If they can talk, they can listen. It’s all about creating great habits young because it’s way easier than having to break bad habits as an adult. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people with the mindset that “kids should be kids” or they need to stay in a “child’s place” not realizing that they are stifling them. Your childhood is about learning life lessons you’re going to need as an adult and the sooner we can adopt that mindset they better off our next generations will be. HB: With the uncertainty of the current administration, what advice do you have for black women to secure their financial future? Aliche: Don’t let fear or uncertainty scare you into inaction. The news can be depressing, but there are moves you can make within your control. Of course, vote — locally and on the national level. Entrepreneurship as a means to building generational wealth is another way to secure your future. Developing multiple streams of income is advice I always stress. You never know when you could lose a job or lose a salary in your household. Having a side business can ease the financial blow. A side hustle can also grow into a full-time job or a company that you can pass down to future generations. Green: Definitely have multiple streams of income! It is a must! Also, prepare for your future by saving now, making safe investments and taking advantage of the current tax laws when looking at investing and growing your money as well as have the best credit you can possibly obtain. HB: What financial mistakes do you commonly see black women make that they need to change? Aliche: Living beyond means is a common problem I see with black women, but the good news is this isn’t such a terrible problem to have. You can rectify it by taking a hard look at your spending habits, downsizing, and creating a good budget. I was able to save about $40,000 in a few years on a teacher’s salary, so cutting back can be done even if you’re making a modest salary. Green: Not having multiple sources of income. Living a life that they can’t afford. Not planning out their financial future. Letting other people have an influence over their money (significant other, friends, family “black tax” & jobs.) HB: If you could narrow it down to a few specific tips, what advice would you give a black woman about her finances? Aliche: Know it’s not a race. As teenagers, we believe we’ll be married by 25, living in a McMansion by 28, and driving a Rolls Royce at 30. Then we get to 30, realize we’re sitting on a pile of student loan debt, and feel like failures. There’s no race. It’s a journey. Mistakes will be made. Financial security happens from learning and making smarter decisions over time. Get your emergency fund together. An emergency savings fund is where you should put a few months’ worth of your salary. Don’t ever spend this money. Keeping a cash cushion will help you avoid having to rely on credit cards and other debt when unexpected expenses come up. Protect your credit. Having good credit history comes with many perks like affordable loans and credit. You may think you’re a good friend, partner, parent, or cousin by co-signing for someone else, but their payment habits will impact you. Your needs come first. Work to keep your credit history clean. Use your employer retirement plan. It’s never too early to start saving for retirement. Even if you can only put a few bucks away in your employer retirement account, do it! Work towards increasing your contribution to match your employer contribution. If your employer doesn’t offer a retirement plan, consider investing in an IRA or another retirement account. Green: Outside of the usual “make sure you have a great budget, plan for your future, fix your credit & have multiple sources of income,” do not allow anyone to make you feel negative about your financial ambitions. As women, we crave stability and security and if people don’t understand that, that’s none of your business. Also, be sure to surround yourself with like-minded people. It’ll make your financial journey a lot easier. Jenelle Evans Defends David Eason: We’re Allowed to Hate Trans People!

Jenelle Evans might be the very worst person to ever emerge from the reality TV cesspool. We don't say that lightly, as the genre has produced all kinds of narcissists, manipulators, and all-around douchebags, but it's easy to make an argument for Jenelle as the absolute worst. She's an abuser, an addict, a bigot, and an enabler. It's tempting to dismiss Jenelle as merely “troubled,” but she actively goes out of her way to make life worse for other people in a way that makes her truly dangerous. And her latest social media hate campaign is a prime example of what we're talking about.   1. No Chill Jenelle has made no secret of the fact that she has little time or tolerance for anyone who’s not straight, white, and American. 2. A Bad Influence Jenelle has always been a bad person — selfish, violent, abusive, cruel — but the bigotry and obsession with firearms that have made her so much more dangerous as of late seem to be the result of her relationship with David Eason. 3. Dipsh-t Dave David was fired from Teen Mom 2 earlier this year for hurling homophobic slurs at fans of the show on social media. 4. No Lesson Learned Sadly, his termination did not inspire David to change his ways. Instead, he seems to have doubled down on his hateful views in recent weeks. 5. Still a Douche David continues to goad the LGBT community with idiotic remarks and foolish memes about “straight pride.” 6. This Effing Guy We’re used to him being an idiot, but David may have actually sunk to a new low this week. And, of course, Jenelle is defending him every step of the way … View Slideshow

Georgia Removed Scores Of Voter From Its Rolls As Stacey Abrams Tries To Make History, Lawsuit Says

G eorgia’s Republican secretary of state, who’s competing against Stacey Abrams for governor, allegedly oversaw the removal of thousands of likely Abrams supporters from the state’s voting rolls. See Also: GOP Ramps Up Voter Suppression Efforts Ahead Of Upcoming Elections A group of voting rights organizations announced a lawsuit on Tuesday against Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp for using a racially-biased method that has purged about 700,000 voters ahead of the Nov. 6 midterm elections, WXIA-TV reported. The organizations reportedly include Jesse Jackson ’s Rainbow-PUSH Coalition, the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Kemp has failed to notify the affected voters who will likely be turned away at the polls on Election Day, the suit alleged. “What has taken place here in Georgia is an insult to all of the efforts and accomplishments that we have done throughout this country,”  Charles Steele , president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, said at a press conference Tuesday about the Black struggle to win voting rights. This comes as Abrams attempts to make history as the nation’s first elected Black female governor. Civil rights lawsuit filed against Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp | WJBF https://t.co/j7jGoqjV3D — The Voting News (@VotingNews) October 3, 2018 This case is part of a larger Republican voter suppression effort, according to activists. In June, the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 split decision, approved Ohio’s practice of removing registered voters from its rolls if they haven’t participated in recent elections. About a dozen other states controlled by Republicans wanted to adopt Ohio’s system following the court’s ruling. “Georgia has been more aggressive than Ohio in removing names,” Nse Ufot , executive director of New Georgia Project, told NewsOne , adding that the practice disproportionately affects people of color. Her organization “stands in solidarity” with the groups that filed the suit. Kemp is accused of using the Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck Program to maintain Georgia’s list of eligible voters. The inaccurate system is seriously flawed , Ufot said. Meanwhile, Kemp has vehemently denied the voter suppression allegation, claiming in a statement that the lawsuit “has no merit” because Georgia hasn’t used the Crosscheck Program. Black Mirror Effect: We’re ThisClose To Being Ranked By A Social Credit Score IRL

Read this article:

Source: ABC Finance Ltd If you’ve never seen British television series Black Mirror , don’t worry, there’s a chance you could get a dose of the dystopian fiction show in real life. In one terrifying episode , people were ranked and punished by their social credit score, which determined what kind of jobs they could work, where they could live, and the kind of people that would befriend them. Increasing this score meant upgrading your overall existence. IRL, the Chinese will rank its people by the year 2020 and Europe is currently considering the national reputation system as well—so how close are the United States and the UK to implementing a SCS…because quite frankly, it feels like it could be right around the corner. According to ABC Finance Ltd, should this go into effect everywhere “Governmental and financial institutions will monitor your everyday behaviour; ranking the way you spend your money, behave on social media and even who you associate with. This score could affect every aspect of your life, from the seats you can book on a plane to your access to dating sites, priority healthcare and even the school your children can attend.” The commercial finance specialists have been surveying folks in the wake of this disturbing news, and what they found was at least a fourth of the people questioned would be penalized under the credit system for these actions: 30%  had criticized the government on social media. 64%  would refuse to sign up for military service if it was asked of them. 41%  of respondents admitted they’ve been late paying bills. 35% admitted to disobeying traffic laws when driving 66% of respondents said they would change their day-to-day behavior to increase their score. Also interesting is the fact that 75% of those surveyed said they would stop associating with friends if they were lowing their own personal score. Of the incentives to earn a good social credit score, priority healthcare was the most appealing. “Being publicly named and shamed” was the most concerning penalty, according to the survey results—because, of course, people want to do their dirt in private. Other penalties include not being able to get the best jobs, slower internet speeds, and even limited access to public transportation. If you think you could live with your social credit score, take this interactive quiz that shows you where you would potentially be ranked. It asks about what you post online, how you would modify your behavior moving forward, how much time you spend watching TV, and more. David Eason Says "All Trans are Perverts" in This Bigoted Rant

This NOT just in: David Eason hates gay people. The husband of Jenelle Evans was fired by MTV several months ago for so often sharing this viewpoint, not that his dismissal caused Eason to reconsider his opinion or keep his social media mouth shut or anything of that nature. Quite the opposite, in fact. The polarizing personality has said recently that he's proud to be a straight white redneck and that, of course, gay people suck . What about transgender individuals?  Eason expresses his close-minded and very ignorant take on them below… 1. Eason Has Been Ranting About Gay People for Awhile Dude is obsessed with the topic, bringing it up out of nowhere at times. Back in February, in response to a discussion online about parenting methods, he said to an Internet user: “Why don’t you go tell the homo and transgender parents to start teaching their kids better morals? Oh I forgot that’s supposed to be normal.” 2. You’re Fired! This was merely the latest example of Eason being a horrible bigot, which led to MTV firing him a few days later and releasing this statement: “David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on Teen Mom 2, effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him.” 3. So… Why are We Still Talking About Him? Because he’s still married to Jenelle and because he keeps saying such terrible stuff. Just consider his latest ranting, raving and insulting on Facebook… 4. It Started with This Meme We assume the first photo here, as shared by Eason, is a reference to the ongoing controversy over whether or not Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted women back in the early 1980s… while the second is a reference to many people out there being in favor of transgender individuals using whichever restroom with which they identify. 5. … And He’s Off As you might expect, this meme generated many comments from users and many, many ridiculous comments from Eason. 6. Being Transgender is Not Okay, Eason Has Always Argued View Slideshow

Scientists Conduct Consent-Free Experiments Disproportionately on Blacks, Study Says

Read this article:

G iven the African-American experience with the infamous Tuskegee experiment , it’s worrisome that the risks associated with consent-free experiments are not fairly spread out by race. See Also: Blacks Underrepresented In ‘Life And Death’ Clinical Research, Study Finds A study released on Monday found that African Americans are enrolled in clinical trials that don’t require patient consent at a disproportionately high rate, Stat News reported. This involves administering experimental emergency medical procedures and drugs on patients who often can’t give consent because they’re unable to respond to questions. The Food and Drug Administration permits researchers to conduct these treatments under certain guidelines. The study , published in Health Affairs, found that 29 percent of the patients involved in these experiments are Black, although African Americans represent about 13 percent of the population. African Americans are overrepresented in many clinical trials that don't require informed consent. My @statnews story on today's research: https://t.co/4FdSnjs4kd — Ike Swetlitz (@ikeswetlitz) October 1, 2018 This stands in contrast to multiple studies that found African-Americans are underrepresented in consensual medical research. One study published in June , found that doctors have long used  inaccurate guidelines to determine cardiovascular risks, which was particularly the case with at-risk African-Americans patients. A significant part of the problem with the guidelines was that Blacks were underrepresented in the patient sample used to create the guidelines. News about consent-free experiments comes against the backdrop of government experiments, from 1932 to 1972, on African-American sharecroppers in Tuskegee, Alabama. Researchers deceived Black men about receiving treatment for syphilis, which actually went untreated. The experiments have contributed to widespread distrust in the African-American community of medical experiments—especially without consent. The new study also revealed that many researchers who conduct consent-free experiments use a loophole to avoid publishing certain demographic data about the people they test. Government reporting regulations don’t specify which data they must reveal. This only adds to the lack of transparency and distrust.
