The heaviest cat in Britain was officially forced to go on a diet. Ulric’s goal is to weigh 13 pounds, an optimum amount for a feline. Which means he’ll have to lose 17, or 56.6% of his body weight. After reaching 30 pounds, Ulric’s owner, Jan Mitchell, entered him in PDSA Pet Fit Club where 21 animals participate in a six month diet and exercise plan. Hopefully, healthy recipes and regular chasing of toy mice will help him get to the promised land and raise awareness for the growing epidemic of animal obesity. True San Antonio Spurs fan.” The admirable young man also took to Twitter himself and wrote: “Please do not pay attention to the negative people. I am an American living the American Dream. If you simply must Hoover up any new footage of Star Trek Into Darkness footage that’s out there, then have a look at this Japanese trailer . There are a few new morsels to be found in the footage, including a shot of Spock in the volcano looking perilously close to becoming one with the magma churning around him. There’s also a scene of Peter Weller’s character, Admiral Marcus , telling someone to “run this bastard down.” Presumably, he’s talking about Benedict Cumberbatch ‘s mayhem-causing character John Harrison, who’s getting high marks for his performance in early reviews of the J.J. Abrams -directed movie. Here’s what Lucy O’Brien wrote on IGN : “Cumberbatch himself has never been better. While he’s proven his ability at volatile emotional-detachment with his role in Sherlock, he is, here, a true snake; an expressionless, sliver of a man whose mask only slips when he lunges for his prey. The Enterprise crew look trivial against him, their uniforms retro and goofy against his men’s magazine sleekness. Even Spock, quite the regal figure, looks small next to him.” Nice description, although in this clip, Spock doesn’t look small. The ratings may not be there on American Idol Season 12. But the talent is very much present. With Janelle Arthur being eliminated this week, we are down to the final four – and any one of Candice Glover, Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller could take the grand prize next week. Who do we think deserves it? Once again, THG presents our American Idol Power Poll below, ranking the finalists from fourth to first… 4. Amber Holcomb. While her performance of ” What Are You Doing For The Rest of Your Life ” was technically flawless, it was old and a sleepy way to end the night. Amber struggles with the up-tempo numbers and isn’t as versatile as the other girls. 3. Kree Harrison . Kree falls to three this week after seeming disengaged during “She Talks To Angels.” Something just seemed off about her this week and we can’t quite put our finger on what it was. 2. Angie Miller . Angie behind the piano is a can’t-lose and her cover of Beyonce’s ” Halo ” had everything that Amber’s (from the previous week) didn’t. Energy, emotion, and excellence. This was a great week for Angie. 1. Candice Glover . Her arrangement of “Straight Up” made the song fresh and cool and ” When You Believe “? Well, after that performance the song should be retired from the Idol catalog. It’s unlikely anyone else will ever do it any better than Candice did. Unless we’re talking about Mariah herself, of course.
Both Candice Glover and Amber Holcomb enjoyed strong nights on American Idol Wednesday. Nicki Minaj? Not so much. First, the judge donned a VERY low-cut red dress, one that pretty much placed her cleavage in the living rooms of teenagers around America.
