Ed Sheeran Grammy Performance: Taking it Back to His Roots

Ed Sheeran was a last-minute addition to the 2017 Grammy Awards ' list of performers, but his effort Sunday night looked … effortless. Not in the sense that Ed didn't put in the effort, but the British singer-songwriter has a way of making it look easy on stage sometimes. Sheeran, 25, took the Grammy stage, having announced he was doing so just seven hours earlier, for a smooth, stripped-down performance. His loop-pedal roots are what launched Ed's popularity, and he showed that Sunday night with a rendition of “Shape of You.” It was a performance profound in its simplicity. An acoustic guitar, a keyboard and a couple of mics (which worked, unlike with Lady Gaga and Metallica ) were all he used last night. No in-ear monitors were employed, even. Ed is known for his casual style fashion-wise as well as personally and musically, and was true to that as well at the Grammys. Sporting a simple black t-shirt and jeans, he crushed the performance … and in the process, he unwittingly crashed a website. How did he pull that off, you ask? Sheeran's pedal board of choice, the Chewie II Monsta Looper, caused fascination among the millions of music fans tuning in to watch. As such, an influx of web traffic to Equipboard (dot) com caused the online database of music gear to display a 502 error after Ed played. Without getting too technical, the site got an arse-load of traffic thanks to Sheeran, and its servers became overloaded with the demand. Even more awesome considering that not even 24 hours prior, he was the musical guest performing on Saturday Night Live in NYC. Three thousand miles away. Pregnant Beyoncé Will Still Perform At Coachella With Special Surprise Guests Previously we reported that Beyoncé’s recent pregnancy announcement posed a serious threat to her performance at Coachella this year. Despite the #BeyHive’s excitement that she was pregnant the thought of not seeing her take the stage was undoubtedly a disappointment to the fans and festival’s producers. That said, Beyoncé wouldn’t be Beyoncé if she wasn’t prepared to handle her business and make lemons out of lemonade. Let TMZ tell it, Bey has every intention of not only performing, but bringing some very, very, VERY special guests with her to help bolster her show. It’s said that one of the mystery guests is a Roc Nation artist (Rihanna? J. Cole??) and the other is from a different record label. Both have known for quite some time that Bey was knocked up and have been preparing for Coachella for several months now. No details on HOW Mrs. Carter will perform being that she will be so far along in her pregnancy, but in her world, 2 babies don’t stop no show. We’d just like to add that there is no way in HELL that a man would still try to perform if he were pregnant with one baby, much less two. Beyonce To Take Home $1 Million In Coachella Cash Beyonce quite literally shattered Instagram with her surprise announcement that she’s carrying not one, but two more royal Carter seeds in her womb on Wednesday. But she also surprised the big wigs that run Coachella, who agreed to giver her a million dollar check for doing her diva dance across the stage at the annual festival this upcoming April. AEG Live and Goldenvoice had no clue Mrs. Carter was carrying…and seeing as how she’ll be anywhere from 6-8 months along (as no one really knows how pregnant she is) come Coachella time, there’s no telling if she’ll even show. But Bey ain’t missing no checks! According to TMZ , an insurance clause in the contract makes sure that Bey gets paid no matter what she decides to do. Whatever insurance company that’s handling it will likely have to pay the fee citing “incapacity” — the condition under which a “high risk” twin pregnancy would fall for a performer. Now we aren’t sure exactly how late or early in the game these Coachella contracts get inked. BUT, if Bey knew she was totin’ twins when she signed her name on the dotted line, she is the scammer of the CENTURY. Two new babies and, an easy sweat-free check, and a horde of fans so happy that she simply exists that none are truly even upset about it. Nina Dobrev & Glen Powell: Dating!

After a tumultuous two years in both her personal and professional lives, it’s clear that 2017 will be a major comeback year for Nina Dobrev. Dobrev is returning to The Vampire Diaries for the show’s series finale, even though it’ll mean working with her ex, Ian Somerhalder. Sounds like a nightmare scenario, but fortunately, Nina is riding high these days, thanks to the new man in her life. E! News is reporting today that Nina is dating actor Glen Powell. Powell might not be a household name, but he’s drawing rave reviews for his performance in Hidden Figures, and many expect him to be the next big thing. He’s also a regular on the Fox series Scream Queens. We’re sure Nina isn’t the type to date a guy or not date a guy because of his star power, but with the way her last relationship publicly imploded, it must a nice confidence boost to be tied to an up-and-coming heartthrob like Powell. In case you missed it, Dobrev and Somerhalder were romantically involved for several years, and TVD fans obsessed over their real-life romance as much as – if not more than – their onscreen love affair. The relationship ended in ugly fashion, and Somerhalder got married to Nikki Reed (a former friend of Dobrev’s) not long after he and Nina parted ways. Shortly after Somerhalder and Reed got engaged, Dobrev quit The Vampire Diaries , and, many believe, doomed the show to cancelation. (In fairness, even diehard fans admit the show’s quality has dropped off precipitously in recent years.) Dobrev has denied quitting the show as a result of her history with Somerhalder, but those in the know say she’s just covering her tracks. “The real reason she quit was because she couldn’t stand to see costar Ian with another woman,” one insider said at the time. “Seeing them together made it not fun to come to work at all.” So it’s noble of Nina to come back to the show for one last go-round for the sake of the fans and her former co-stars. We’re not saying the opportunity to throw her new relationship in Somerhalder’s face made the decision easier – but it probably didn’t hurt.  Watch The Vampire Diaries online to get caught up for the series finale.
