Lucy Trailer The trailer above is for ScarJo’s new movie Lucy, a sci-fi/action epic from Luc Besson, director of The Fifth Element. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has vowed to live as a “recluse” for the next six months following her split from husband Chris Martin, according to a new report. The 41-year-old is determined to stay out of the public eye for at least half a year as she comes to terms with the inevitable, but still painful conscious uncoupling . The star, who was pictured embracing former boyfriend Donovan Leitch months before her separation, is considering pulling out of any acting and promotional work. Her focus is helping her children, Apple, 9, and 7, seven, deal with the situation. A source said that Gwyneth has been “rocked,” in particular, by the fact that “her friendships with men are being cited as possible causes for their split.” As a result, ”She has told her people she wants to retreat from any public life for six months and live as a recluse. Her focus is her kids as they face the trauma.” The children “heading back to school with all the headlines” is certainly a concern, and you can’t blame Paltrow for wanting to dial back the exposure. Ms. Marvel is back and more diverse than ever, having been reintroduced in the newly rebranded Marvel NOW! series as a Muslim teenager named Kamala Khan. The child of immigrant Pakistani parents, Kamala now lives in New Jersey. She’s “among the first to be a series protagonist who is both a woman and Muslim,” Time reports, as Marvel strives to “reflect a growing diversity among its readers.” The previous Ms. Marvel, Carol Danvers, went on to become Captain Marvel, boasting a range of superpowers that included strength, speed and flight. Kamala will have the ability to grown and shrink her body. She’ll ultimately be able to shape shift, as well, all while paying homage to her predecessor. After discovering her powers, Kamala takes on the mantle her childhood hero, Carol Danvers, a title left behind when she did become Captain Marvel. Editor Sana Amanat said when discussing Khan’s identity: “Captain Marvel represents an ideal that Kamala pines for. She’s strong, beautiful and doesn’t have any of the baggage of being Pakistani and ‘different.'” “Her brother is conservative. Her mom is paranoid that she’s going to touch a boy and get pregnant. Her father wants her to concentrate on her studies and become a doctor.” The series will be written by G. Willow Wilson, who explains, “I wanted Ms. Marvel to be true-to-life, something real people could relate to, particularly young women.” Marvel CEO Axel Alonso compares Kamala to another legend that is not Muslim or female, saying “Kamala is not unlike Peter Parker,” a.k.a. Spider-Man. “She’s a 16-year-old girl from the suburbs who tries to figure out who she is and trying to forge an identity when she suddenly bestows great power.” Like Parker, she “learns the great responsibility that comes with it.” Marvel does expect “some negativity,” not only from people who are anti-Muslim, but from Muslims who “might want the character portrayed in a particular light.” Clearly, that possibility isn’t enough to dissuade them, however. Don’t be scared, FX viewers, but 13 new episodes of American Horror Story are headed your way in the fall of 2014. The network made the easy call today to renew this Ryan Murphy-created drama for at least one more season, as American Horror Story: Coven continues to scare up the highest ratings in the history of this unique franchise. Said FX President Landgraf in a statement: “Put simply, Ryan Murphy is a master television producer. Time and time again he reinvents the form. What he, co-creator Brad Falchuk and their producers Dante Di Loreto, Tim Minear, Jennifer Salt, James Wong, Brad Buecker, Jessica Sharzer, Douglas Petrie, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, Alexis Martin Woodall and the entire production team and cast responsible for the American Horror Story franchise have done is nothing short of extraordinary. “Every year, they create a riveting and brilliant new miniseries. “AHS: Coven is the best yet, and I have no doubt that the next installment will be even better.” The first American Horror Story focused on a haunted house; the second turned its attention to a Nazi and alien-filled insane asylum; and the third is set in modern day New Orleans. It’s far too early to know anything about the cast and/or setting of American Horror Story Season 4 , but let’s all hope Jessica Lange continues to be involved.
Is Anne Hathaway pregnant with her first child? The rumor is floating around thanks to a comment made by her brother at a comedy club in New York. Tom Hathaway reportedly claimed his sister was expecting while he performed. “Tom opened his act by talking about Anne’s personal life,” an attendee said. “He said, ‘My sister got married last year and now she is about to be a new mom !'” the source added. “I don’t think he realized just what he had done.” Hathaway, 30, married Adam Shulman in September 2012 in Big Sur on the coast of California, so baby news would not be out of the question whatsoever. That doesn’t mean it’s true, however. Says her rep: “She is not pregnant.” Okay then. Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman married in front of 150 guests, who watched the Valentino-clad actress exchange vows with her love of four years. The two got together almost immediately after Hathaway split up with Raffaelo Follieri, her prior long-term boyfriend turned white collar criminal. “I am very much in love, (only) Adam totally ruined my plan,” she joked. “I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time and then I fell in love like a fool!” While her “alone time” was cut short by Shulman, the duo will continue enjoying one-on-one time as news of their family expanding by one is not true.
Kristen Stewart may or may not be hooking up again with Robert Pattinson . But the actress has definitely signed on for a new movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart will reunite with Adventureland co-star Jesse Eisenberg for America Ultra , an independent comedy directed by Nima Nourizadeh. The film will Eisenberg and Stewart as a couple in a small, sleepy town, where there uneventful lives take a startling turn when the former’s past comes back to haunt him and the twosome end up the target of a government operation. “Simply put, American Ultra will be the most fun you can possibly have in a movie theater without the use of drugs, fireworks or canola oil,” says Anthony Bregman, a producer whose most recent credit is Enough Said . This project is interesting and exciting and everything, but fans of Kristen’s are far more curious about her personal life than her professional life these days. She allegedly met up with Pattinson late last month and spent at least three hours inside her ex-boyfriend’s home. Did their clothes remain on the entire time? We can’t say for sure.
