Sam revealed to his Missouri teammates he is gay last August, but he didn’t disclose his sexual orientation to his parents until last week. He said Sunday in interviews with ESPN’s “Outside The Lines” and The New York Times that he is gay. Michael Sam Sr. told The New York Times that he received the news last Tuesday when his son wrote in a text: “Dad, I’m gay.” Sam’s father took the news hard. He said he was eating at a Denny’s restaurant but had to leave after receiving the text. “I couldn’t eat no more, so I went to Applebee’s to have drinks,” Sam Sr. told the newspaper. “I don’t want my grandkids raised in that kind of environment.” Sam Sr., who described himself as “old-school,” told the newspaper the idea of a gay player in the NFL bothers him, even when that person could be his own son. He told the newspaper that late Hall of Famer Deacon Jones, the leader of the Rams’ Fearsome Foursome who is credited with terming the word sack, “is turning over in his grave.” He told the newspaper, however, that he loves his son and hopes he makes it into the NFL. “As a black man, we have so many hurdles to cross. This is just one he has to cross,” Sam Sr. told The Times. Dayum, the man couldn’t even finish his meal.

Keri Gonzalez, 34, of Marana, broke her ankle when she landed and limped down the street away from the home in San Tan Valley on Jan. 23, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. About 2 a.m. that morning, the boy’s mother went to the room after hearing “knocking sounds by the stairs on the wall.” When he opened it, she reportedly saw a woman crouching down on the floor naked, hiding between the bed and wall. The mother yelled at her to leave the house, police said in a news release obtained by The Smoking Gun. The woman got dressed and leaped from the window so the mother would not recognize her, the teen explained. The 15-year-old boy told police that the woman was Gonzalez, a family acquaintance. She came over with some alcohol for them to share and they had sex twice before his mother awoke, the boy added. According ABC News: Sixteen teenagers ranging in age from 13 to 17 were recovered by law enforcement in a crackdown on child trafficking surrounding the Super Bowl last weekend. The FBI said the teens included high school students and young people reported missing by their families. “It is the most significant operation we’ve had around a big event,” Michael Osborne of the FBI’s Violent Crimes Against Children Unit told ABC News. “This is the most recoveries we’ve had at one time.” Officials said the vast majority of the rescued teens were girls. “These recoveries are victim-focused,” Osborn said. “Many times these young people are kept in this life by pimps using sexual, physical and emotional abuse.” The crackdown also identified and arrested 45 pimps and their associates. The arrests came in New York, New Jersey and in Connecticut in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. “High-profile special events, which draw large crowds, have become lucrative opportunities for child prostitution criminal enterprises,” said Ron Hosko, assistant director of the FBI’s Criminal Investigative Division. “The FBI and our partners remain committed to stopping this cycle of victimization and putting those who try to profit from this type of criminal activity behind bars.” We already know how guys who commit crimes against children are treated in prison… Shutterstock

According to Deseret News: A Davis High School teacher was charged Tuesday with having sex on multiple occasions with a former student. Brianne Land Altice, 34, was charged in Farmington’s 2nd District Court with three counts of rape, a first-degree felony. A boy told police that between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, when he was between 16 and 17 years old, he had sexual intercourse with Altice on three different occasions, according to charging documents. Altice was believed to have had sex with a 17-year-old on many occasions, including at her South Weber home and at a park, a Davis County Jail report states. The teen was allegedly able to accurately describe the layout of Altice’s home to detectives as well as tattoos on her body. The Davis County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday there were still “pending investigations” ongoing that involved other potential victims. Altice was placed on administrative leave by the school district in October pending the outcome of an investigation. SMH.
