Gary Wendale Mincey, 36, won’t be eligible for parole and will die in prison for raping or attempting to rape five women during a six-week period in the fall of 2011. “These women’s lives have forever been changed by the heinous acts of a serial rapist,” said DeKalb County Chief Assistant District Attorney Nicole Marchand Golden. “We hope this guilty verdict and sentence will bring some form of relief to each one of our victims and (their) loved ones. There is a monster who no longer roams the streets of DeKalb County.” Last month, a DeKalb County jury found Mincey guilty of all 17 charges against him – rape, sodomy, sexual battery, false imprisonment and armed robbery. On Tuesday morning, a DeKalb County Superior Court judge handed Mincey the maximum possible sentence of eight life sentences, plus 135 years. Utah Man Arrested For Watching Graphic Movies On Plane Via HuffPo reports: A Utah man charged with viewing kiddie adult films on a Boston-bound commercial flight won’t have to serve his jail sentence if he sticks to the terms of his probation. Prosecutors say 50-year-old Salt Lake City resident Grant Smith pleaded guilty Thursday to possessing child pornography. A Boston judge suspended Smith’s 2 1/2-year sentence and placed him on five years’ probation. Smith must continue sex offender treatment, comply with Utah sex offender registry requirements and follow restrictions on contact with children and Internet use. Prosecutors say a fellow first-class passenger saw Smith viewing pornographic computer images of young girls during a November 2011 flight. The passenger took a cellphone photo of the images and alerted a flight attendant. Smith was arrested in Boston and initially pleaded not guilty. He resigned his job as a University of Utah engineering professor. So lets get this straight… people who are caught illegally downloading movies are subject to jail time and hundreds of thousands of dollars of fines. A guy watching child movies in public doesn’t even get jail time? If you get caught with a gram of kush in the wrong state you can get prison time and thousands of dollars in fines. DaNita Wilson, 32, was arrested Tuesday and charged with seven counts of sexual assault, reported CNN. “Some of the (relationships) had been going on for at least one year or longer,” said Stacy Carson, assistant special agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Wilson is accused of having sex with six students who are over 16-years-old, Georgia’s legal age of consent, and one 15-year-old student, Carson explained. Wilson was suspended with pay from her job at Charlton County High School, pending a formal employment hearing, where the school district’s superintendent, John Lairsey, will recommend her termination. “We’re just shocked and disappointed,” said Lairsey. “And it’s just hard to believe. Just disappointed and disheartened that people we put our trust in would violate that trust.” The school district started investigating the claims after receiving a complaint about Wilson, who has worked at the school for a decade. “We received information within the school system,” he said. “The main meetings continued on Tuesday. At that point, we got the sheriff’s office and GBI involved, and (Wilson) was removed from class before lunch.” Lairsey escorted her to police custody just before lunch and handed her a letter that explains her suspension, according to CNN. Wilson’s bond was set at $35,000 — $5,000 for each case of sexual assault. Her court dates have not yet been scheduled. This guy is as gross as they get: A local elementary school teacher was arrested Friday morning on felony charges involving allegedly luring children online. Suspect John Kinloch, 41, is a first grade teacher at Wolf Canyon Elementary in Chula Vista. He’s been teaching for the past 14 years. Federal agents believe the veteran teacher lured children online in order to obtain nude pictures of minors. Kinloch is now being held at San Diego Central Jail on three felonies involving minors. On Friday, the Chula Vista Elementary School District handed out 900 letters informing parents of Kinloch’s arrest. The letter reassured parents that none of their students were targeted and none of the alleged crimes were committed on campus. The news left both the school district and parents in disbelief. “It hurts me that the kids have established a relationship with this teacher, so I’m really going to be asking some questions,” said Wolf Canyon parent Denise Roldan. “My kids [have] only mentioned him a couple of times. They say he was a cool teacher; kids were really happy with him.” Anthony Millican of the Chula Vista Elementary School District said Kinloch’s arrest came as a complete surprise, especially since there were never any red flags concerning the teacher. “There’s nothing in the individual’s file to indicate anything of this nature, thus [we’re feeling] a sense of surprise and concern and shock,” said Millican. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force says Kinloch posed as a 13-year-old girl online. He has allegedly been in contact with boys between the ages of 12 and 16, getting them to send him nude photographs and videos. In addition, Kinloch is accused of selling or sending the obscene materials. Now, the well-liked teacher is under investigation and on administrative leave from his position. “Anyone who harms children isn’t someone we want in our system,” said Millican. Kinloch’s neighbors say the teacher was not married, lived at home with his mother and generally kept to himself. He’s scheduled to appear in court and face a judge on Dec. 7. youtube ABC7
