Finally, someone is taking issue with Pamela Anderson’s body . The actres flew to Montreal this week to publicize her latest PETA ad, only to be turned away by the city. Canadian officials denied a permit for the unveling because they claim the bikini-based billboard is somehow sexist. Said Montreal film commissioner Daniel Bissonnette, whose office laid down the law: “It is not so much controversial, as it goes against all principles public organizations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women.” Anyone care to make sense of that statement? Do any men feel discriminated against by the following ad? As seen here, the poster reads: “All Animals Have the Same Parts. Go Vegetarian.” We’re pretty sure that’s inaccurate, however. We’ve never seen a cow or pig with silicone in their breasts. Moreover, Pamela’s parts haven’t stopped many men from eating her. Replied the actress to the controversy: “In a city that is known for its exotic dancing and for being progressive and edgy, how sad that a woman would be banned from using her own body in a political protest over the suffering of cows and chickens. In some parts of the world, women are forced to cover their whole bodies with burqas — is that next? “I didn’t think that Canada would be so puritanical.” Snaps, yo! PETA is at it again. No, the attention-seeking organization is actually not posing a D-list celebrity naked this time, wasting money on a campaign that could otherwise be spent on the lives of animals. Instead, the company is taking at at Brooke Shields, after the actress visited Kopenhagen Fur’s workshop in March and said: “I will advocate that both my generation and the younger generation can wear fur” and “I will wear the fur garment when I follow my children to school, when I drink coffee and when I sleep.” We must say: those are especially odd comments to make. Of all the causes to advocate, who chooses fur?!? PETA held nothing back in its response, calling out Shields and her floundering career: “When I was a little girl, I dreamed about growing up to be a rock star. Or maybe a veterinarian. Or a roller derby queen. I didn’t dream about anally electrocuting animals on fur farms, but apparently Brooke Shields did. “We understand that when some actors’ careers begin to fade, they’ll do just about anything to stay in the limelight, including appearing in eyelash-growing commercials and starring in short-lived TV shows. But Brooke, did you really want the world to remember you as a ‘fur pimp’ who stares agog at rows of animal skins?” We have to (painfully) admit: we agree with PETA in this one instance. American’s favorite baby factory, who gave birth to octuplets after having six kids already, is endorsing a PETA campaign to promote neutering of dogs and cats. Hey, they’re helping Nadya Suleman pay the mortgage. Facing foreclosure, she was fresh out of options, California home loan rates being what they are and all. The 34-year-old Octomom is being paid $5,000 to keep a sign promoting spay and neuter surgeries for critters in her garden in La Habra, Calif, until June 9. That’s the deadline when city officials say it must be removed. The sign reads : “Don’t Let Your Dog Or Cat Become An Octomom. Always Spay Or Neuter. PETA.” Since giving birth to her eight babies 16 months ago, Nadya Suleman has struggled to pay bills and was in danger of losing her home like so many Americans. Don’t let your daughters do it, either. Her lawyer negotiated an extension on a $450,000 California mortgage bill that had been due in March, and after PETA stepped in , she made this month’s bill! She declined a more lucrative offer in favor of PETA’s. “It’s really a win-win situation for everyone involved,” PETA campaign coordinator Amanda Fortino said of helping Octomom and animals at the same time. Ever generous, the group is also throwing in a month’s supply of vegan hot dogs and burgers for Nads and her 14 children. That’s a lot of gross hot dogs! Octomom couldn’t be happier: “I love animals and believe they should be spayed or neutered,” she said at her home “Humans of course are much different.” Sure, but maybe an exception can be made. Right? Please?
