Kush Chronicles: Dumba$s Dude Growing Marijuana Puts Himself On Blast

How dumb can you be???? A Connecticut man’s plan to grow marijuana went up in smoke after he called 911 and asked how much trouble he would get into for growing the drug. “I was just growing some marijuana and I was just wondering what, how much, you know, trouble you can get into for one plant,” a not-so-bright Robert Michelson asked on Thursday night. When the dispatcher asked if there was an active crime in progress, the 21-year-old answered “possibly.” Dispatchers traced the call to Michelson’s home in Farmington, where cops found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of pot. Michelson admitted he bought seeds and equipment online for growing. He was released on a $5,000 bail. As he left the police station, he gave dispatchers two middle fingers. “Presumably for doing such a good job,” police said. Source

Kid Rock Doesn’t Want Praise For Touring With USO

‘It’s really a rewarding, life-changing experience,’ Rock says of performing in Iraq, Afghanistan. By James Montgomery Kid Rock Photo: MTV News In 2007 (and again in 2008) Kid Rock teamed with the USO to perform for troops based in places like Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Contingency Operating Base Speicher in Tikrit, Iraq. He was moved by the men and women he met there — enough to write “Born Free,” the title track off his upcoming album, due November 16. But up until very recently, he didn’t talk about the experience. He didn’t think he needed to. “It’s one of those things I used to do and try not to talk too much about, because it’s not something you go to promote something at, or do anything for any self-gain at all,” he told MTV News. “But what I’ve learned is that maybe if I do talk about it, the more I can encourage some other people in my position to go, because they’re really happy over there just to get a slice of America at any level, but to have someone in the entertainment industry who’s had a little slice of success is really a big boost for those guys. “I would encourage anybody that hasn’t gone to really think about it,” he continued. “It’s really a rewarding, life-changing experience.” And obviously, the soldiers he met and the sacrifice he witnessed made a lasting impact on him … because Born Free is very much an album he made for them. It’s a tribute to their sacrifices, their selflessness and their tireless service in defense of the U.S. Which is why, whenever he’s praised for performing at USO shows, Kid Rock only shrugs. The way he sees it, it’s the least he can do. “It’s a funny thing to do that and get commended, because it’s obviously just the opposite way [of] how I view it, [which] is to do something to commend these brave men and women,” he said. “It’s been a long war, let’s face it. We were talking the other day, wondering how many times Bob Hope’s been [overseas], thinking of, you know, those World Wars were, like, four years, and this is going on eight, nine years now. There’s a lot of entertainment needed over there, and that’s what I can provide, and it’s always a privilege just to be asked to go and play for those guys.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Kid Rock Related Artists Kid Rock

N.E.R.D. Debut New Music At Times Square Show

Pharrell and Shay play new song ‘Help Me’ from Nothing album. By Mawuse Ziegbe N.E.R.D.’s Pharrell Williams in Times Square on Thursday Photo: Mawuse Ziegbe/ MTV News NEW YORK — Braving the unexpectedly intense heat of a New York City fall day, N.E.R.D. brought even more fire to their Thursday (September 23) Times Square performance. Shay Haley and Pharrell Williams of the hip-hop alterna-rock crew (fellow member Chad Hugo was absent) played to a slew of die-hard N.E.R.D. fans at a day-long event in celebration of Honda’s spankin’ new CR-Z Hybrid Coupe. During a warm-up set from downtown selector DJ Lindsay, featuring sunny tunes from Janelle Mon

N.E.R.D. Say Nothing Album Is ‘Intended To Inspire Humans’

‘If you can find something positive in here that motivates you, then this album is for you,’ Pharrell tells MTV News. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Steven Roberts N.E.R.D’s Pharrell Williams Photo: MTV News N.E.R.D. have said that their upcoming album, Nothing, will be a “psychedelic” romp through the throwback counterculture vibes of yesteryear inspired by, among other things, women. However, the band recently made it clear that while the release caters to the ladies, all fans are welcome to the party. “Women are essential to life on this planet,” frontman Pharrell told MTV News when the group stopped by the newsroom Monday. “They just hold a very sacred place, they always have for me. My taste and appetite for women has been clearly evident in my music and my videos. We just felt like that was the sweetest spot for us to concentrate on. Having that in mind, just because the concept of the album is us having a conversation with women at a roundtable, it doesn’t mean that that’s what the audience is about.” The producer and rapper likened the project to a chick flick geared toward a certain type of woman but ropes in other fans as well. “The audience for [the album] is just like any other film,” Pharrell said. “Like a Sandra Bullock film. The concept may be geared toward a chick-based theme, but of course those audiences are not 100 percent women. There’s just all kinds of human beings who just wanna be entertained by that particular story. That’s the concept here. This album is meant and intended to inspire humans. Man, woman, whatever you are. If you can find something positive in here that motivates you, then this album is for you.” Chad Hugo chimed in as well, joking that fans can enjoy Nothing “even if you’re not human” and adding that the album’s appeal extends to “cats and dogs” too. The fellas revealed that they pushed back the album but also gave up a few details about their new single. While they didn’t reveal the title, they did hint that the track will feature a special guest and that “it’s like the ultimate party song.” Shay Haley said the track is inspired by a hard-partying night in Europe. “We were in Monaco, and we were looking around, and we were just seeing how people were having a great time and you couldn’t tell them sh–. It was like 5 in the morning, and you would have thought it was like 1,” Shay said. “People were partying just as hard, so we were like, ‘Whoa.’ ” Who do you think might make an appearance on N.E.R.D.’s next single?
