Millenials Are The Loneliest Generation, According To These Studies

Source: Peathegee Inc / Getty It’s no secret that there has been a rise in mental health issues over the last 40 years. Disorders that use to plague a select few now besets an entire generation — hence the reason why Gen Y has been deemed the “anxious generation”. Older folks are quick to write millennials off as lazy and entitled, but quite the contrary. “A 2017 study found that perfectionism is more prevalent than ever. This is important to note because a lot of research connects perfectionism with anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.”- The Thirty Even though we have the ability to connect with different kinds of people from all over the world at any given time, thanks to social media, millennials reportedly  feel lonelier than any other generation. “A study from the Intergenerational Foundation that compared three generations of young people, today’s millennials are unhappier and lonelier than previous generations, reporting a lower sense of wellbeing across areas including health, relationships, and finances. The quality of family relationships declined “by more than 50 percent between 2005 and 2015″, while close friendships fell by six percent.” – Bustle Research also claims that feeling lonely is as dangerous to health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Socioeconomics, race and gender also play a part in experiencing loneliness in life — but for millenials as a whole, social media seems to be the biggest culprit. 77 percent of Americans reportedly have a social media account of some kind, but regardless of the platform, the effects on health are the same. “What happens many times when they log on is that you kind of activate a lot of social comparison. People don’t necessarily have to be super aware that this is occurring, but it does. You log on, you’re generally dealing with very curated content on the other side.” – Oscar Ybarra, PhD, a professor of psychology at the University of Michigan Starting your healing process and staying off social media is not as easy as some may think. Social media started out as just a leisure thing to do and now it’s involved in every aspect of our lives. So what’s a practical cure for the daunting feeling of isolation? Experts say that prioritizing social interaction and feeling connected to something or someone are major keys to healing. “Research has found that attachment to even just a place reduces loneliness. If everyone decided to remain in the same city or town for a lifetime, as people once did for centuries, we’d receive the two best remedies for loneliness — a home and a community.” – Psychology Today It’s cool to be independent and self-reliant, but the truth of the matter is that humans are social beings and we need each other. So put down the phone for a day or two or three and go talk to someone IRL.

Closet Calamity: The Ladies Of RHOA React To THAT Storage Space Scandal [Video]

The Ladies Discuss NeNe’s Closet On The RHOA Aftershow Another day, another bit of drama surrounding that closet calamity . After NeNe went OFF about Porsha and Kandi exploring her closet and (possibly) put her hands on Porsha seemingly snatching her belt , the ladies of RHOA reacted to the scandal. According to NeNe, she was flummoxed that women she invited into her home for her “Bye Wig” party had the audacity to invade her personal space. “I changed and didn’t even realize I changed,” said NeNe. I went ape on they a**, I was just so irritated that these girls would come to somebody would come to someone’s house and start opening up their drawers. Kandi, however, had no idea it was even that serious but she’s remorseful. “I got the fact that she thought it was off limits but I think she was moreso upset about the cameraman who followed us into the closet,” said Kandi. After we came out the closet I was like ‘Okay I’m getting the hell up outta here.’ NeNe comes rushing down the steps and I’m just trying to keep things calm, I felt bad that I was part of the trigger.” This is FOR SURE going to be a hot topic of discussion at the reunion. YOU tell us; did NeNe overreact about her closet?

Really?!?! R. Kelly Ridiculously Rationalizes Refusal To Render Child Support, Ex-Wife “Brainwashed” Their Kids

Source: Handout / Getty R. Kelly Rationalizes Why He Stopped Paying Child Support R. Kelly was released from jail this weekend after some heada$$ enabler paid the $160,000 child support that was in arrears. Today, we find out why Robert was so far behind despite the claiming to Gayle King that he wanted a relationship with his children. According to TMZ , sources close to Robert say that he stopped paying child support to spite his ex-wife Drea Kelly. The singer believes Drea “brainwashed” the kids and turned him against him. Which, ironically, is the exact same thing that the parents of his *alleged* victims have said about him. This withholding of money just goes to show how stupid Robert really is. Taking away the money your children need to live in order to punish your ex-wife makes no sense whatsoever. Kelly “scraped together” the cash to get out of jail thanks to an unknown “benefactor”. He had been paying $20,833 since January 2009 but fell off the wagon HARD last year. Drea and Robert have conflicting stories about why he doesn’t have a relationship with his children, both blaming each other for changing their phone numbers. Drea says she’s down to allow Robert to see the kids but she hasn’t heard from him since 2017 after she went public about his abuse of her. Robert’s life is an absolute f**king mess. Just put him in prison already.

Corey Feldman, Former Childhood Friend Of Michael Jackson, Slams ‘Leaving Neverland’

Originally posted here:

“L eaving Neverland ” premiered Sunday and Monday on HBO and the documentary shocked the world with graphic accusations of long-rumored child abuse allegations against Michael Jackson . Many people have been speaking out about the documentary, including Corey Feldman , who was a child actor when he and Jackson became friends in the 1980s. See Also:  ‘I Thought It Was A Hoax’: Sparkle Talks R. Kelly’s Marriage To Aaliyah Feldman, who is most known for the 1985 film “The Goonies” told Page Six he was never assaulted by Jackson. “What happened with me [and Jackson] was strictly aboveboard,” Feldman said in the interview published Tuesday. “We’d be on the phone for hours. You’re talking about someone who has spent their life in the industry, who grew up in the industry and didn’t have a childhood and have friends and have sleepovers, I could relate. That was my life. We both came from abuse — abusive homes. There is not a lot of kindred minds that can connect on those levels or achieve the success he had. That was the common ground we shared.” He continued, “I am not saying they are lying. I wasn’t there. I can only go based on my experiences. Every victim’s voice must be taken seriously and must be heard. In no way would I ever intimate that I would want them to be silenced.” The 47-year-old added, “If God forbid these things were true, then there is a completely different Michael that I knew. I guess anything in the world of pedophilia is possible. All I can say is my heart goes out to both of them — and if for any reason the things are proven true, I would be in full support of them.” That said, he explained, “I don’t think we can go jumping on a bandwagon without evidence. That’s why there are court cases and cross-examinations … when [Jackson] was on trial [ending in 2005], he was cleared of all the charges … I don’t think anyone can take [the allegations] lightly, but I also don’t think we should go making a judgment on information we have that’s strictly conversation without backup.” Feldman blasted the parents. “To me, the most shocking and appalling part of this whole thing are the actions and misdeeds made by the parents of both children, and the decision to allow their kids to be unaccompanied in the presence of an adult they did not know and trust,” Feldman said. “As a father, I could not ever imagine allowing my child to go off with a grown man I did not consider as close as family without any adult supervision. Not even Michael Jackson. It comes down to trading your kids out for an opportunity, and making them the focus of your financial interests, as opposed to the child’s wellbeing.” Feldman did say he and Jackson slept in the same room, but the singer slept on a cot. Feldman tweeted Monday that the documentary was more like “la la” land and that it was one-sided. #Neverland OK I WATCHED IT ALL I KNOW IS WHAT I EXPERIENCED, & YES EVERY EXPERIENCE WAS THE SAME….RIGHT UP 2 THE SEX PART! THAT IS WHERE IT BECOMES LALA LAND, INSTEAD OF NEVERLAND 4 ME. WE NEVER SPOKE ABOUT SEX OTHER THAN A FEW WARNINGS ABOUT HOW SEX WAS SCARY, & DANGEROUS. MJ — Corey Feldman (@Corey_Feldman) March 4, 2019 HOWEVER I DO TAKE ISSUE WITH THE FACT THAT THIS WHOLE THING IS 1 SIDED W NO CHANCE OF A DEFENSE FROM A DEAD MAN, & NO EVIDENCE OTHER THAN THE WORD OF 2 MEN WHO AS ADULTS DEFENDED HIM IN COURT! BUT AS WE WILL NEVER REALLY KNOW, I ONLY HAV — Corey Feldman (@Corey_Feldman) March 4, 2019 According to TMZ , Brett Barnes , who knew Jackson when he was a child, threatened HBO with a lawsuit “claiming the documentary puts him in a false light and subjects him to ‘hatred, contempt and ridicule.’ Presumably, the lawyer is saying MJ supporters will target Barnes as a result of the documentary.” Barnes testified at Jackson’s criminal trial in 2005  and said he was never assaulted by Jackson. He also tweeted this in January: Not only do we have to deal with these lies, but we’ve also got to deal with people perpetuating these lies. The fact that they fail to do the small amount of research it takes to prove these are lies, by choice or not, makes it even worse. — Brett Barnes (@IAmBrettBarnes) January 30, 2019 In 1993, Jackson was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy. In January of 1994, Jackson reportedly settled for $23,000,000. The accuser’s father committed suicide in 2009, five months after Jackson passed away. Jordan Chandler reportedly has never come forward about the allegations and supposedly lives outside of the country. In 2017, when choreographer Wade Robson accused Jackson of sexual assault—even though he’d said in the past the singer didn’t assault him—there was a hunt to find Chandler. According to The Daily Mail , he left the U.S. to avoid investigators. In 2003, Jackson was charged with seven counts of child molestation and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent to a 13-year-old boy. He was acquitted of all charges. R. Kelly Doesn’t Have Enough Money To Post Bail, Lawyer Says

Kelly is still inside of a jail cell this morning as his lawyer, Steve Greenberg says the 51-year-old singer does not have the money to immediately post his $100,000 bail . According to Newsweek , Greenberg told reporters on Saturday that he is confident Kelly will be able to produce the money eventually. The singer also owes $162,000 in back child support to ex-wife,  Andrea Kelly . Greenberg also said that Kelly’s defense team is pleased with the bail amount, given the severity of the counts against his client. Kelly is being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. “Right now he’s presumed innocent,” he said according to CNN. “We haven’t seen any reason to believe that these allegations are credible. Mr. Kelly is strong, he’s got a lot of support and he’s going to be vindicated on all these charges—one by one if it has to be.” Kelly has long denied the allegations against him.
