BOSSIP Exclusive: #HELLO!! Lionel Richie Says New Adele Record Helps Him Stay Relevant

(Photo by Monica Schipper/Getty Images for DuJour) Singer Told BOSSIP His Opinion Of Adele’s New Record Lionel Richie was just as shocked as anyone else when he heard fellow singer Adele released new single “Hello” – the same title of his own hit song. “I cannot tell you, my phone blew up. People were going, ‘are you gonna let her get away with that?’” a youthful looking Richie told BOSSIP in NYC Tuesday night. “I said, ‘Guys, it’s hello. They said ‘yes – but you own hello.’ I said ‘no no, no. I don’t own hello.’” Richie was in town to celebrate launching his new dining decor brand, Lionel Richie Home. The singer, 66, arrived Tuesday night at the PHD Terrace at the Dream Midtown with his young girlfriend Lisa Parigi. He posed for selfies with fans inside the champagne bash, hosted by DuJour Magazine , before heading downtown to Cipriani for a private dinner where guests tested out his new line. Richie said his collection, which features gold-trimmed plates and cocktail glasses, was just an extension of his creativity as an artist. He said Lionel Richie Home hits stores early next eyar, and plans for his own clothing line are also in the works. “I spent a lot of my career with people asking me one question: Lionel, what the hell are you doing?’” Richie said. “And this is the same… just in a different form and it really to me, is seamless, because I do this all day.” The Adele nod was just another way Richie said his music stays relevant. “I think what’s happening now with all the younger artists, is that we’re out here picking up a whole other generation now. We did Glastonbury, 150,000-200,000 (people). I can show you pictures of absolute seven to nine year olds with ‘Hello’ written across their heads.” Continue reading →

Really??? Daycare Leaves Baby Inside After Closing Parents of a 1-year-old are currently fighting to have a Chicago daycare shutdown for leaving their baby behind after closing. According to the couple, their child Journee was left in the dark at the daycare facility after workers closed the operation and aimlessly left their child to roam free. Why? Because they thought she was a toy doll. Fox 32 Chicago reports: A Chicago father went to go pickup his 1-year-old daughter at daycare on Monday. But instead, he found a locked building with all the lights shut off and his little girl crying alone inside. Now, dad Cornelius Jones and mom Quanesha Borum want ‘All Things Are Possible For Kids’ daycare shut down because police told them this is not the first time this has happened at the business. “I was ringing the bell and no one came to the door, so I called the number and no one answered the phone, so I called again like two more times and I was like, so I kicked the door like two times, then I heard my baby screaming in the background,” Jones said. When no one answered, he called 911 and his girlfriend, the baby’s mother. The fire department had to break in the front door, which workers were repairing Monday night. The baby, one-year-old Journee, was found crawling around in the back room of the daycare. “I was glad that she was OK, but I was like real mad, I was mad because how could you leave a baby in a daycare, how could a child go unaccounted for,” Jones said. And here’s what the daycare director had to say for herself…. The director, Tommie Butler, shielded her face from our camera but offered an explanation to Journee’s mother. “She said the lady that was in charge of Journee put her to sleep and once everybody got ready to leave, she told her that everybody was gone,” Borum said. “But my thing is, I come here and I sign her in and out, and so why wasn’t the list checked before everybody left?” The director told FOX 32 she is not sure who the last person at the daycare was, because she left about 15 minutes before the dad arrived. However, she told the baby’s mother that when workers checked the daycare, they thought her daughter was a doll. Police were on the scene as of 9PM and are continuing their investigation. Netflix Makes Netflix And Chill Button That Dims Lights Netflix & chill is always a good idea but the good people at Netflix just made that special night even more easier! Via Engadget : At the 2015 World Maker Faire this weekend, the company unveiled its prototype and instructions for a big button that it calls “The Switch.” When you hit it, The Switch dims the lights, activates your phone’s Do Not Disturb feature and gets Netflix ready for the streaming ahead. Think of it as a Netflix and Chill button, but with maybe less Chill. The Netflix Switch is powered by a Particle Core, an Arduino-compatible development kit that features on-board WiFi. There’s also a battery, a bunch of LEDs and an IR transmitter that mimics the IR signal found on Netflix-compatible TVs. Netflix lists everything you need (including Philips’ Hue lighting system), but you’ll want to have a basic understanding of electronics, web servers and how APIs work before getting started. If the project is a little out of your reach, the good news is that Netflix is taking proposals for its next build. Just head over to the “Make It” site and share your suggestion in the relevant box. Caitlyn Jenner: Cleared of All Charges in Vehicular Manslaughter Case!

Back in February, Caitlyn Jenner was involved in a car accident that claimed the life of 69-year-old Kim Howe, a neighbor of Jenner’s. As recently as last month, it was reported that Jenner could face jail time , as the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department had concluded in its investigation that Jenner’s criminal negligence may have played a role in Howe’s death. The case was then passed along to DA, who was to determine if Caitlyn would face charges. Fortunately for Jenner, TMZ is now reporting that the DA has decided Jenner is not to blame for Howe’s death , and will not be forced to stand trial. The DA’s office says that while Jenner may have been “driving inattentively,” she was not speeding, and she did apply her brakes – though not soon enough to prevent an accident. Though Jenner’s delayed response was undeniably the cause of the accident, zoning out while driving is not illegal, and witnesses say the 65-year-old was not texting or looking at her phone at the time of the accident. “A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter,” reads a statement from Jenner’s attorney, Blair Berk. That’s true, but hopefully, Caitlyn still learned something from all this and will start instructing her daughters not to take selfie videos while driving . As the fourth season of Kendra on Top rolls on, Hank Baskett finds himself a familiar situation, and in uncharted territory at the same time. The familiar: His wife punishing him for getting fondled by Ava London (and, some argue, Kendra faking divorce drama for TV ratings). The unfamiliar: Wilkinson trolling Hank by flirting with other men, turning the tables on her husband and pretty much driving him insane. When the topic of Wilkinson’s estranged mother Patti arises, she is forced with a familiar dilemma: Does she reach out or put up a wall? Ultimately, she decides to finally give Patti a call, Kendra is visibly vulnerable and affected by this even though her mom didn’t pick up the phone. In another sweet and unusually unscripted moment, she promises daughter Alijah that she will always be there for her and will never judge her. No matter what, both Hank and Kendra seem to intensely love and care for their kids, and for that, we can only hope they make this marriage work. Rapper ‘I Heart Memphis’ Accused Of Gang Rape I Heart Memphis, the rapper behind the “Hit The Quan” craze , real name was Richard Colbert, is facing some serious legal issues just as his song is catching on nationally. Memphis police allege that the rapper and one other man drugged and gang-raped a young woman back in May. Via WREG : Colbert was one of two men accused of gang raping a woman, who was under the influence, at a home on Long Meadow in Raleigh. On Tuesday, WREG spoke to the rapper who said he did not do it. “No, I did not,” Colbert responded when asked if he raped the victim. Colbert was out of town recording music on Tuesday but told WREG over the phone that the victim was lying. “I was at the wrong place, wrong time, and my name got caught up in something,” Colbert explained. However, Police in Memphis disagreed with that claim. Police are still looking for a third suspect, a female between 18 and 23-years-old. Colbert said he was planning to fight the charge and said he would not let it get in the way of his, now popular, music. Colbert and a second man charged in the case are expected in court on Wednesday. Yikes! Why is there so much of this going on these days?? SMH.

Joe Giudice Accused Of Verbally Abusing Daughters

Earlier this month, cops were called in response to a screaming match between Joe and Gia Giudice . Those closest to the family were puzzled, as the 14-year-old aspiring singer is a self-described “daddy’s girl” who’s always gotten along well with her hot-tempered father. Now, sources are claiming that the sudden friction between the two has less to do with Gia’s teenage rebellion, and more to do with Joe cracking under the pressure of raising a family single-handedly, with a lengthy prison sentence looming. “He curses and yells at his daughters,” one insider tells Radar Online. “It’s just the way he speaks — and they are [often heard] crying because of it.” Some have even gone so far as to say that Joe verbally abuses his daughters , often shocking other family members with his behavior. “Audriana, the youngest, was in the bathtub and the water overflowed and came through the light fixtures in the kitchen,” says the source. “Teresa’s mother and father were there — and Joe noticed the water and started swearing and cursing like a crazy person.” “He went flying up the stairs yelling, ‘Why isn’t Audriana monitored?’ He was cursing out Gia, who was supposed to be watching Audriana, and he yelled at Audriana as well.” “Teresa’s mother ran up and grabbed Audriana and screamed, ‘She’s only a baby. She’s only a baby!’ And Teresa’s dad scolded Joe and said, ‘I never swore or yelled like that in front of my children in my life.’” Some insiders claim that part of the problem is that the girls have picked up lots of bad habits due to a lack of supervision, as Joe is often out romancing other women while his wife is incarcerated. Others say Giudice realizes that his 41-month prison sentence is fast approaching (He’ll turn himself in shortly after Teresa is released later this year.) and the pressure is causing him to crack. Whatever the case, we’re sure the girls will be happy to have their mother back.
