Home Alone Cast: Where Are They Now?

Well, it’s Christmastime, which means crowded malls, in-laws, travel expenses…Wait, why does anyone like this holiday again? Oh, right, the movies! (And the office parties that provide an acceptable excuse to get sloshed in the presence of your co-workers, but that’s a different story.) Yes, everyone has a favorite Christmas movie, but amongst all the Griswolds and Grinches, no holiday film stands out for its enduring, inter-generational appeal quite like Home Alone. It’s a family film in which the main character hates his family. It’s a kids’ movie in which Joe Pesci suffers a series of gruesome injuries, a la any number of Scorsese films. Home Alone Cast: Then & Now 1. Maculay Culkin – 1990 Home Alone made Culkin a box office god in 1990. He’s undergone quite a change over the years… Perhaps that’s why it’s the one film (and depending on your family, the one thing ) that everyone can agree on during the holidays. Sure, the old folks prefer It’s a Wonderful Life; the kids want some creepy stop-motion BS; and your  48-year-old uncle who still plays with blocks wants to watch Larry the Cable Guy in Jingle All the Way 2, for some reason. But Home Alone is the one film that gets everyone to cease their incessant griping and enjoy time with family the way that it was meant to be enjoyed – in silence. The flick’s got something for everyone. Name another Christmas movie that features a variety of sadistic booby traps, as well as an ingenious attempt to give a poor pizza delivery guy a coronary event. (“Keep the change, ya filthy animal!”) That was a rhetorical challenge. There is no other family-friendly Christmas movie that so gleefully thumbs it’s nose at the spirit of the season, yet still delivers the requisite heartwarming message. As a bonus, it’s given us such timeless web gems as Home Alone meets Argo and of course, Home Alone reeanacted by pugs . But while Macaulay Culkin skyrocketed to fame and went on to form a pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band (Is he making amends for effing with that delivery guy?), not all of the cast has been so lucky. Even Joe Pesci – who was arguably the most recognized of the film’s stars at the time of its release – has done just about bupkis in terms of real acting work in recent years. (Unless you count Snickers commercials, which we do.) Check out the gallery above to see what the stars of Home Alone have been up to in the 24 years since the film’s release. There are some stunners here, so don’t be surprised if you wind up slapping your hands on your cheeks and shrieking in adorable fashion.

Kate Middleton and Prince William "Rarely" Spend Time Together, Source Claims

Last week, Kate Middleton and Prince William visited New York City and were spotted together at events ranging from an NBA game to a gathering of American political figures. It was the usual fast-paced frenzy of photo-ops and media events, but the couple seemed to enjoy their time in the Big Apple, and they appeared to be every bit as in love as they were at the Royal Wedding back in 2011. One inside source claims, however, that behind closed doors, Will and Kate’s relationship has cooled and they spend time together only for the sake of keeping up appearances. Part of the problem, the source says, is that Kate disapproves of the rowdy behavior often exhibited by Will’s mates: “People have noticed that [Kate] is rarely by Will’s side when he socializes,” an unidentified Londoner tells the Daily Mail. “It gives the impression that she wants to avoid some of his friends.” “She doesn’t like drunken behavior, but some of them like to party. One drunken incident recently put her off one of Will’s close female friends, and Kate wasn’t afraid to let her know that she disapproved of her sloppy behavior.” The tabloid notes that Kate was not by Will’s side at at least eight major occasions in the past year, including four weddings. Some of that, of course, is due to the extreme morning sickness suffered by Kate in the early months of her second pregnancy. Royal watchers have noted, however, that even when Kate is healthy, the she and Will often travel alone, and they’ve even been known to stay in separate residences just miles apart while they’re both in England. Kris Jenner has issued a challenge to daughter Kendall Jenner : Anything you can do, I can do better. And far more disturbingly. A few days after Kendall got spanked by Santa and tried to seduce in black lingerie on behalf of Love Magazine, Kris has also posed for a photo spread with the publication. Lisa Rinna: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is Melrose Place With No Script!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5, which premieres tonight, is getting a major dose of drama from a woman who thrives on it: Lisa Rinna. The Melrose Place and Days of Our Lives alumna, along with fellow daytime standout Eileen Davidson, gives the Bravo show a jolt of star power. Suffice it to say, Rinna and Davidson are not intimidated by Kyle Richards, Kim Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Brandi Glanville and Yolanda Foster. Rinna, who has also appeared on Dancing With the Stars and Celebrity Apprentice , added that the Real Housewives is quite similar to Melrose Place . “This is very close to doing Melrose Place without a script in your hand,” Rinna said, adding that to her, “like everything in life, it’s all about timing.” “It’s funny, when I went on to Melrose Place it was year five.” “This is year five of Housewives . To be honest with you, after talking about it with my husband, it’s been a really great gig for me. It felt right, to be honest with you.” “I like an adventure, I was looking for an adventure.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 Trailer The adventure starts this evening on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 1 , with Kyle Richards’ White Party serving as the backdrop. It sound be good, too, if the previews are any indication. In The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills trailer , Rinna is seen throwing wine, and a wine glass it appears, at co-star Kim Richards, who recoils in abject terror. Lisa won’t dish too many details, but would say, “I can’t say it’s anything I would have ever expected or imagined to ever have happen in my life.” “Most of my friends,” she reflects, “have never heard me raise my voice or get angry, really … what I learned is I am fiercely protective of my family.” Color us intrigued for the new season, to say the least. As Us Weekly as irritatingly told readers for many years now, stars… they’re just like us! They take out the trash. They get coffee in their sweat pants. And they can’t always make up their minds about love. Even the most well-known singers, actors and reality stars have made headlines over the past few years for breaking up and reconciling time and again with the same famous person. 11 Famous Roller Coaster Relationships 1. We’re not doctors here at The Hollywood Gossip. Are Kylie Jenner’s lips real… or the result of some plastic surgery? We don’t know for sure. Was Tori Spelling hospitalized last week due to a panic attack… or as a headline-generating move to garner ratings for her nauseating reality show? 13 Celebrities Who Became Utterly Unrecognizable From How We Think of Them

There’s changing one’s look or appearance, and then there are these 13 celebrities, who became completely unrecognizable from how we once knew them. 13 Celebrities Who Became Unrecognizable 1. Lindsay Lohan Lindsay Lohan compared to what she looked like as a fresh-faced teenager, not even 10 full years ago? Pretty astounding and not in a good way. Either for a period in their lives, or for good ( Renee Zellweger’s face likely isn’t going back to its Bridget Jones version), this is stuff you couldn’t make up. Not even if you used all the makeup in the world. We can’t believe these dramatic transformations, especially among some stars who are still so young. Some celebs’ looks naturally change, of course, as they age from child teen stars to adults, so it’s unfair to say that doesn’t play at least some role here. This is part of why Renee Zellweger then and now photos shocked the Internet so much this week, though. Renee is 45, and the change was recent. Relatively speaking, the Zellweger we envision when we hear her name still looked more or less the same just a few years ago (see gallery below). The pressures of Hollywood are immense, though, whether it’s a problem with addiction or a question of trying to remain forever youthful looking. Either battle is a losing one, and some of the above side by side photo comparisons should serve as a cautionary tale regarding the dark side of fame. Some are just funny, though. Can you imagine Zooey Deschanel without her signature bangs? Louis C.K. with hair on his head but not on his face? A clean cut Zach Galifianakis? We didn’t think so. Outlander Season 1 Episode 8 Recap: Happily Never After?

Outlander Season 1 Episode 8 served as the Starz show’s midseason finale, and proved that the bliss we saw at the end of last week was too good to last. Claire and Jamie were all over each other in typical newlywed fashion, while in stark contrast, Frank was crushed by despair at the loss of his wife. Also, Outlander Season 1 Episode 8 gave us our first look at life in 1945. There is no sign of Claire. No leads, no sign of a struggle or crime. Frank is incredulous at the notion that his wife may have run off with another. Claire and Jamie’s Christmas plans are cut shot by an attack, though the Scots prevail easily, while Frank nearly kills a man over a false lead. After Jaime and Claire, smitten as they can possibly be, decide to get down and dirty in the woods, they are discovered by a couple of redcoats. One starts ravaging Claire in a disturbing scene, with Jamie watching. That knife training she received after the attack came in handy, though, as she got ahold of it and stabbed the assailant while pressed on top of her. In the chaos, Jamie breaks free and quickly kills their other captor. These events cause Claire to enter a state of shock, and she remembers her old life, before 1700s Scotland, and her promise to return to Frank. Who, in 1945, talks to a woman who suggests to him that Claire may have actually traveled through time. He does not believe this theory, of course. As we blast back to the distant past, Jamie leaves Claire behind to take down some redcoats, and as she walks through the woods, she finds some stones. Not just any stones, the standing stones she has longed for. On the other side of time, he hears her calls to him … until she is taken away by redcoats at that inopportune time, and she is captured, again. Then her captor tries to rape her, again, but Jamie, having stormed the fort, saves the day and kindly (not really) encourages him to back off. What will happen next when the saga continues? We’ll have to wait until 2015 to find out, but fear not: You can watch Outlander online to catch up on all of the episodes so far. We highly recommend it.
