The strange disappearance of CDC employee Timothy Cunningham continues to wear on his family and friend who are no closer to finding an answer. The Morehouse graduate, who was highly regarded at the Center For Disease Control vanished after leaving work on February 12, saying he was ill. He apparently never made it home. When his parents, who drove from Maryland to his Atlanta home two days later got there, they found his keys, dog, phone and wallet, but no sign of him. Our own Shaun King, who attended Morehouse with Cunningham, used his vast network to try to find some answers. But since then, there’s been nothing. No news, no answers. The middle of the Cunningham’s three children, Timothy did provide a clue 24 hours before his disappearance. According to Fox 8 Cleveland, his parents say that he sent a disturbing text. They have not shared what was said in the text with the public. We’ve shared that with the detectives, and we’ve kept that as a private matter,” his father, retired Air Force colonel Terrell Cunningham, who also worked for the FDA for decades, says that he knew something wasn’t right. “As a parent, you have indicators when things are just not right with your child, and that was the case,” he said. The Cunninghams are notified when bodies that may fit the description of their son are found. So far, there have been four false alarms. “It takes you to a place that the light is not shining in,” Terrell Cunningham said. “I won’t call it a dark place, but they are lows. This is extremely hard.” Cunningham is a respected epidemiologist with the CDC and has worked on viruses like Ebola and Zika. The Cunninghams have refuted online conspiracy theorists that have speculated that their son was involved in or knew of something through his work that might have made him a target. Despite early media interest in the case, as it usually happens, the media moves on. What that means for the Cunninghams is that as time goes on, the interest and therefore the resources given to their case, wanes. On Sunday, 22-year-old Stephon Clark was holding a cell phone in his grandmother’s backyard in Sacramento when officers mistook for a gun and fired 20 shots at the kid. Is it just us, or the whole “I thought he had a gun” excuse is getting redundant and implausible. We heard the same thing regarding the murders of Tamir Rice and Oscar Grant just to name a few. Wow…they shot him 20 times for standing his own backyard and talking on his phone…all bc they THOUGHT he had a gun…like this stuff hurts me. That’s could be me, or one of my brothers. According to reports, he reached out to the family of Stephon Clark to cover the cost of the funeral. Back in 2015, Cousins covered the funeral costs for a local high school football player, Jaulson “JJ” Clavo, who was gunned down. DeMarcus isn’t the only athlete looking to help the Clark family. Sacramento native Matt Barnes sent out his thoughts and prayers for the family, asking anyone who knew the family to send him a direct message. Hundreds of people hit the streets this week to protest the senseless murder. No word yet on whether or not the cops involved will face any consequences. Although we’ve seen this whole story play out before, hopefully this time there’s an alternate ending. Protestors have shut down the freeway in Sacramento calling for justice for Stephon Clark, who was murdered after being shot at 20 times by police in his grandparents’ yard. The life of O.J. Simpson has taken another strange turn today. Simpson’s former best friend and longtime confidante Tom Scotto has passed away at the age of 56. To understand just how bizarre Simpson and Scotto’s relationship was, we need only to look at the last few months of both men’s lives. In October of 2017 Simpson was released from prison on robbery charges. At the time of his release, Scotto offered to allow Simpson to move into his palatial home in Naples, Florida. Scotto publicly rescinded the offer shortly thereafter, alleging that he recently learned Simpson had slept with his then-wife in 2007. Shortly after that, Scotto was hospitalized due to complications from pneumonia. Just nine days ago, Scotto spoke with Radar Online and informed the outlet that his health was on the upswing. He claimed was soon to be moved out of the intensive care unit with the eventual goal of returning home. Two days later, however, Scotto signed a “do not resuscitate” order after his health took yet another turn for the worse. Today, family and friends were shocked by the new that Scotto had passed away. “Tom Scotto died of the broken heart because O.J. slept with the man’s wife!” a source close both Scotto and Simpson tells Radar. “O.J. only cares about himself but with Scotto’s death, he’s going to feel like sh-t!” “It’s desperately sad Tom and O.J. didn’t settle their differences before he died, but now everyone’s worried what O.J. might do. He can behave all crazy and has an awful temper,” says a second source. The tipster included a chilling (thought likely apocryphal) account of Scotto’s final moments: “Scotto’s last words were ‘O.J. took everything away from me and I don’t want to live anymore,'” the insider alleges.
