Source: Pierre-Louis Ferre / Courtesy of Walgreens In February of 2019, Pierre-Louis Ferrer, a Parisian photographer, revealed his latest project, titled RAW. He shot a series of UV portraits using ultraviolet photography. The photos illustrate and show the true undertones of our skin and what the longterm effects of the sun will do on your skin. I had an opportunity to get my photo taken by the photographer through a Walgreens ‘Beneath The Surface’ Beauty & Skincare Event. It was an opportunity for me to see what products Walgreens was offering for summer and why I recently loaded up on sunscreen from my local store. Source: Pierre-Louis Ferre / Courtesy of Walgreens I was actually pretty impressed with my skin. I had the most sun damage on my forehead and inner part of my skin. On-goers marveled at how my skin didn’t have any sun spots. Nevertheless, the dermatologist seemed very concerned about my skin and its condition. She was a white dermatologist and I only mention this because I do believe it’s important to see a specialist who understands and knows your skin tone. Through Dove, I had the opportunity to sit with Dr. Mona Gohara, who chatted with me all things sunscreen and skincare to protect our melanin in the summer. I showed her the illustration and she actually told me my skin was great. I then dropped the big bomb on her. I don’t use sunscreen regularly. I don’t use sunscreen when I’m on vacations because I feel like my skin is deprived from the sun as I’m normally inside and I live in NYC. I’m a sun baby. I grew up in Florida where I regularly felt the rays dance across my skin. Dr. Mona explained that our melanin gives us a natural 13 SPF; however, we still need to do more. “The way Black and brown skin ages is with hyperpigmentation We have melanin, which is our greatest gift. Melanin protects us from the sun. Protecting us from the sun frankly, helps our skin not wrinkle as easy and maintain our elasticity.” She continued, “If you look at an 80-year-old white woman compared to a 80-year-old Black woman, the white woman will have wrinkles and sun spots. Black people will have hyper pigmentation, that’s how we age.” Melanin is our protector, but it’s also the active ingredient that makes us hyper pigment. It wasn’t just me, she sympathized that the average person is not diligent in sunscreen. Dr. Mona shared, “Diligence means a shot glass over your entire body every two hours. That’s how you are supposed to apply sunscreen.” However, it’s not only the sun that we need protecting from. Dr. Mona explained, “Sunscreen isn’t just protecting you from the sun, it’s protecting you from visible light, like light bulbs, and blue light, like your computer and phone.” While we may not be in the sun, how many hours a day do you spend on your phone or your computer? She added, “It’s now about protection from different types of light.” What’s so bad about looking on your phone all the time without protection? Dr. Mona stated, “Visible light can promote malasma and hyper pigmentation, so we are extrapolating other types of light that we’re coming in contact with like the phone and computer can be damaging as well, built we don’t know to what extent.” Source: Dove Beauty Bar / Courtesy of Dove If skin health is a priority, then sunscreen should be a priority. Dr. Mona educated, “90% of the visible signs of aging come from unprotected exposure to ultra violet light.” Black and brown skin also ages with dryness. Dr. Mona excitedly shared, “That’s where the Dove Beauty Bar ($5.49, target.com ) comes in!” She explained, “You should use any chance you get to infuse moisturizer into your skin.” The bar has 1/4 moisturizing cream. I’m in love with the lavender option pictured above and it definitely leaves your skin soft, smooth, and smelling good. Ever since I met with Dr. Mona, I’ve been diligent about my sunscreen and using it daily. The added moisturizing protection from my beauty bar also helps for me to keep my skin supple. What about you beauties? Do you use sunscreen? Will you consider using it more? Fans of t he movie directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans, starring his little brothers, Marlon and Shawn Wayans, will n ow have something to look ‘White Chicks 2’ as confirmed by Terry Crews. The movie, which was about two undercover FBI agents going undercover as white girls to protect them from being kidnapped pulled in a cool $113 million and grossed just over $70 million. One of the more iconic scenes in the movie is when Terry Crews character, Latrell Spencer, takes one of the undercover girls out on a date, Marlon Wayans character, Kevin Copeland, is trying to make this date as unpleasant as possible. On the car ride Kevin turns on a pop station, in an effort to annoy Latrell, well the song that was playing was ‘A Thousand Miles’ by Vanessa Carlton, it created a great scene, and the song became closely tied to the movie. Crews also told The Talk on Monday that White Chicks 2 could see a pop song performance — similar to his iconic rendition of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” — saying, “I think the modern day equivalent to that might be the song by Carly Rae Jepsen ‘Call Me Maybe’.” There have been no further updates, or details about the movie released. But as soon as we get more, we will update. Check out Terry Crews reveal the news bel ow.
Source: Lil Nas X / Columbia Records Lil Nas X has once again shocked the world with a recent admission of being gay. Irv Gotti thinks the culture will not blink for a second. TMZ caught up with the acclaimed record producer while in New York City. When approached by the cameraman he was immediately asked about the “Old Town Road” rapper’s sexuality to which he responded “you’re like the fifth person to ask me that”. Regardless of the repetition Lorenzo gave his two cents on the matter. “We don’t care whatever he is – if he’s gay. It’s all good” he explained. Rightfully so the reporter kindly reminded him that Hip-Hop has had a long history of being misogynistic and the Tales producer was spot on with his explanation. “If it was 20 – 30 years ago it would be a shocker. Late last month, 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? star Colt Johnson’s new girlfriend was revealed . She’s young, she’s hot, and like Coltee’s ex, she’s Brazilian. Now, we know her name, and she has opened up about how she really feels about dating Coltee. We previously reported on Colt’s alleged new lady love after he clued followers in on her existence a couple of weeks ago. At the time, someone reported that she was a friend-of-a-friend, which gave the allege source the inside scoop. That person claimed that this woman was dating Colt on a lark, but we emphasized at the time that we could not confirm the story’s veracity. Now we know this gorgeous woman’s name — Jess Caroline. And to hear her tell it, she’s dating Coltee because she wants to, not as some sort of prank. Jess Caroline spoke about the relationship on social media. “I lost my flip flops at the pool party on my first date with him,” Jess wrote. She recalled: “I was barefoot, dirty feet, hair was a mess, and super drunk.” In Touch Weekly reached out to her to confirm that she is dating Colt and that someone else is not just pranking 90 Day Fiance fans with her photo. “We have been together for a while,” Jess has shared. “[Anyone] who knows me,” Jess wrote. “Knows that I’m chill and have good intentions.” In other words, the claim that she was dating Colt because the idea seemed funny and nothing more sounds pretty bogus. “Also,” she continued. “That I don’t judge people’s choices. …” So what is her purpose for going on a date with the infamous reality star? Jess explained: “I’m with him because I want [to be] and because he wants [to be].” “We have chemistry,” Jess revealed. She knows that people have said cruel things about Colt. “If you say, ‘He’s ugly and fat,’ well, he can lose weight,” she acknowledged. So can a lot of people, though dramatic weight loss is usually unhealthy. The real point is that Colt’s weight is nobody’s business. “The important thing,” Jess emphasized. “Is how he treats me.” “He makes me laugh and he’s nice,” she claimed. “We like the same movies and songs.” “I know about his past,” Jess wrote. “And have watched the show. In reference to Larissa, she said: “I don’t defend him or her.” They were two people in a deeply toxic relationship, and Jess sees that. “It was just a relationship that didn’t work out,” she expressed. “And life goes on.” “I’m not going to be rude to anyone,” Jess declared. Meaning that no one should expect her to launch an all-out attack on Larissa. Jess would like to see people on social media and beyond be nicer. “Let’s have some empathy to people and their choices,” Jess asked. “Let’s try to make things lighter,” she suggested. “And criticize less, please.” You know what? That’s pretty reasonable. Larissa Lima has also moved on from Colt, dating a younger, hotter dude. She wrote on Instagram that she is “happy” that Colt is dating again. “Life goes on,” Larissa wrote of her attitude. That’s very similar to the sentiment that Jess expressed. Coltee really does have a type. View Slideshow: Larissa Lima: Heartbroken After Colt Johnson Starts Dating Again?

It's been a rough year for Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra. Fortunately, Monday night's episode of Teen Mom OG focused on a recent highlight for the troubled couple. Back in February, Catelynn welcomed her third child , a baby girl named Vaeda. With all these two have been through, it was a joy to witness their obvious elation at Vaeda's arrival. Teen Mom cast members frequently complain that they're treated unfairly in the editing process or that the show only focuses on the negative aspects of their life. Something tells us Lowell and Baltierra have no such complaints about last night's episode. Take a look: 1. One Happy Family It’s been a long and winding road for Catelynn and Tyler. But finally, we got to see them enjoy a bit of happiness thanks to the arrival of their baby girl. 2. Baby Vaeda The Baltierras have been gushing about Vaeda and sharing pics on social media ever since the moment she entered the world. 3. Overjoyed But for all the joyous family moments on social media, few details had been revealed about the day Vaeda entered the world — until last night. 4. Completing the Picture As we now know, Vaeda has been welcomed with enthusiasm by her older sister, and she’s proven instrumental in helping Cate and Tyler move on from the traumas of the past year. 5. New Beginnings Catelynn, in particular, had a difficult time in the months leading up to Vaeda’s birth, but last night, it was all love and elation. 6. Ups and Downs After a year marked by emotional disorders, rehab, and even a trial separation with Tyler, Cate was back on top last night. View Slideshow
As previously reported, Bernie McGee died on Saturday at the age of 41. The Seeking Sister Wife star suffered a heart attack while out for a bike ride, called his wife, Paige, in distress — and lost his life before paramedics could arrive and save him. McGee was the head of one of the polygamous households on this TLC series, which was a sort of Sister Wives spinoff that sought to capitalize on the popularity of one of that network’s longest-running programs. His death, as described above, was natural. No actual foul play is suspected. And yet… Paige took to social media shortly after confirming the tragic news and hurled enormous shade at her own brother. Not merely shade , we should note: She flat-out accused her sibling of killing her husband. Back in March, you see, Patrick Marble accused both Paige and Bernie of harassing and/or stalking him. The couple was actually arrested as a result of this allegation. According to Patrick at the time, Bernie and Page flooded his home with calls and would not stop trying to contact him at work, either. He also claimed his girlfriend was targeted by his sister and brother-in-law. With their court date fast approaching, Paige now says such legal issues had an awful effect on Bernie, Tweeting that “the stress of going to court this coming Wednesday with fear of 1 year in jail wore on [him].” From there, Paige got very personal and very accusatory. She laid into her brother and did not mince a single word in saying Patrick is to blame for what happened to Bernie. “Patrick Marble does not know a damn thing about my husband or him passing. All he knows is what he is reading on FB. I have not spoken to him for any reason and he damn well better not come to my house!” Paige wrote this week online. She continued: “Patrick and my mother having us arrested for not doing a damn thing wrong did this! “We were financially put out for having to hire lawyers, investigators and missing work for this bullsh-t.” Paige (whose mug shot from her arrest this spring is posted below) also alleged that Patrick harassed and bullied her and Bernie. “[He] has admitted numerous times he would not stop until we were fired from the show,” she wrote. “Well, that never happened so he continued his bullying and harassment. Bernie has been under so much stress and the stress of going to court this coming Wednesday with fear of 1 year in jail wore on Bernie. “Bernie was so upset the day we were arrested because our sons had to watch us being taken away. Every night since then, Bernie has said over and over, the look on Johnny’s face. He just couldn’t get over that.” Paige and Bernie made their debut on Seeking Sister Wife on Season 2. Following Bernie’s death, Patrick told TMZ that he plans to drop the stalking charges and that he spoke to his sister recently to attempt to hash things out. But it appears as if she wasn’t interested in any sort of peace accord. “Patrick Marble… YOU KILLED MY HUSBAND AND I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL… And you better stay the HELL away from me and my family,” Paige concluded. Yikes, huh? May Bernie McGee rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam
Kate Gosselin clearly doesn’t deserve love or companionship, but she may find both on her new dating show . But with all of the talk about Kate Plus Date , she has been slamming reports about a previous relationship. That hasn’t stopped her “non” ex from coming forward and confirming that they dated very seriously for two years. It was widely believed that reality TV villain Kate Gosselin had dated Jeff Prescott. Prescott is a millionaire philanthropist who co-founded Dreamstime. Kate Gosselin took to her Instagram Stories to claim that none of that is true. “I didn’t date him,” the walking nightmare insisted on social media. She went on to warn her fans and followers to never trust “people who sell stories.” We wonder how she defines her career as anything but that. Kate claims that “they are looking for publicity to benefit themselves/their business.” Saying that you dated Kate might get your name or even your business’ name out there. But will it help business? Some people might avoid it like the plague. Speaking to Radar Online , however, Jeff Prescott says that their romance was not fake news. They didn’t just go on a couple of dates. He says that they were an item for nearly two years. Prescott adds that he was, at one point, so serious about Kate that he went house-hunting so that he might live closer to her. Luckily for him, it sounds like their relationship ended before he sank money into Pennsylvania real estate. Now, house-hunting could be the actions of a one-sided man who’s read more into a relationship than is really there. According to Jeff Prescott, he and Kate were both serious about each other. “We were talking about our future together,” he tells RadarOnline . He even says that he and Kate were just about ready to go public with their romance. Just a few years later, and she’s saying that they were never even an item. Ouch. If push came to shove, there may even be a way to prove how serious they allegedly were about each other. Prescott says that he was prepared to do much more than announce that they were dating. He says that, back in 2015, he actually signed on to Kate Plus 8 . There, he would have played the boyfriend of the notorious mother. Clearly, those plans fell through along with their alleged relationship. Some of Kate’s suitors on Kate Plus Date have no idea who she is, which we suppose makes sense. (Who would agree to date her if they knew as much about her as the rest of us?) They have then been shocked to learn that she is the mother of eight children. Of course, that number doesn’t really reflect reality these days, does it? These days, she’s only regularly terrorizing six of her children. Two of them, Hannah and of course poor Collin, have escaped to the relative safety of their father’s house. Jon Gosselin’s not making anybody’s Father of the Year list, but at least he’s not an awful human .
At this point, it's been so long since Jenelle Evans and David Eason's kids were removed from their home, the couple is probably struggling to remember what raising children was actually like. But if they ever want a reminder, they need look no further than Nathan Griffith's social media pages. Griffith, of course, is the father of Jenelle's youngest son, Kaiser. Now, he has full custody of Kai for the first time, and it seems he's loving every second of it. It also looks as though Griffith is having fun demonstrating to the Easons what real parenting looks like. Take a look: 1. Nate & Kai Kaiser seems happier than ever now that he’s living with Nathan. And Nate seems pretty darn ecstatic, as well. 2. A Loving Home In addition to Nathan, Kaiser is currently being looked after by Griffith’s mother Doris and fiancee Ashley Lanhardt. 3. Paying Tribute On Father’s Day, Lanhardt gave a major shout-out to Nate in a heartfelt Twitter post. 4. Dad Vibes “Happy Father’s Day to this special man,” she wrote. Thank you for being such an amazing daddy to the kids & our fur babies!!! We love you.” 5. Nate With Kai In her photo collage, Ashley made sure to include a photo of Nathan spending time with Kai — a right that Griffith has had to fight for much of the boy’s life. 6. Mission Accomplished Clearly, Ashley’s intention was to make Nathan realize how loved he is within their young family — and it seems she did exactly that. View Slideshow
