Starz Execs Refuse To Cast Chris Brown To Appear On “Power” Earlier this week, 50 Cent took to Instagram to defend “his boy” Chris Brown against the cop’s overzealous response to the accusations put forth by f**kgirl Baylee Curran. As he says, 50’s relationship with Chris goes way back and to that end, he was looking forward to giving him a role on his hit show “Power”. However, the Starz execs put the kibosh on Breezy’s appearance and he was NOT happy about it according to PageSix Chris Brown “lost it” after he was booted from 50 Cent’s show “Power” just before he allegedly pulled a gun on a former beauty pageant contestant. Sources tell us that Fiddy had promised his friend Brown a major role on his hit Starz show, but network execs put a stop to the plan. A source close to Brown told us, “50 promised Chris a big role on ‘Power,’ playing a drug dealer. But 50 didn’t consult the network first, and execs were not happy when they found out about it.” The source continued, “The network insisted that Chris’ casting was not going to happen, because of fears about his anger issues. There was a big blowup, and they had to tell Chris he was not going to get the role. The news was delivered to him early Monday. He was livid.” Despite “the man” putting bangin’ the gavel, 50 ain’t trying to hear it… On Thursday, 50 Cent was still insisting he’ll get Brown on the show, despite the network’s reservations. He told Page Six, “Tune into ‘Power’ next season, because you will see Chris Brown.” We can’t think of a better show for a person with “anger issues” to play a role on. As a starting quarterback, Colin Kaepernick often bolted from the pocket at the first sign of pressure from the defensive line. As a controversial protestor, however, Colin Kaepernick isn’t going anywhere in the face of ongoing criticism. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback refused to stand during the playing of the national anthem prior to a preseason football game last week. After cameras found Kaepernick glued to the bench, he explained to reporters that he felt a responsibility to take some kind action against racial injustice in America. “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said, adding: “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.” In subsequent comments, Kaepernick brought up the recent deaths of African-American citizens in confrontations with white police officers and said he would continue his protest until he saw “significant change.” And he meant it. On Thursday evening, Kaepernick kneeled on the sideline while the Star-Spangled Banner played overhead prior to his team’s matchup against the San Diego Chargers. In this case, Petty Officer 1st Class Steven Powell sang the anthem, as 240 military officers held the U.S. flag on a night when the home team hosted the 28th annual Salute to the Military night. But the quarterback wasn’t alone this time around. Teammate Eric Reid also dropped to a knee. Elsewhere on Thursday, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane refused to stand during the national anthem before his game against the Oakland Raiders. “I’ll continue to sit,” Kaepernick said earlier this week. “I’m gonna continue to stand with the people that are being oppressed. To me, this is something that has to change. “When there’s significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it’s supposed to represent and this country is representing people the way that it’s supposed to, I’ll stand.” However, Kaepernick is doing more than merely kneeling on the ground for a couple minutes in protest. He has announced plans to donate the first $1 million he earns this year to charities that assist communities in need. “I’ve been very blessed to be in this position and to be able to make the kind of money I do,” Kaepernick said after last night’s game. “And I have to help these people. I have to help these communities. It’s not right that they’re not put in a position to succeed or given those opportunities to succeed.” Kaepernick also said he spoke to a military veteran before the game about his cause. He received the man’s full support and explains that he took to a knee, as opposed to sitting all the way down, to “try to show more respect to the men and women that fight for this country.” Kaepernick has received some celebrity support, as well. John Legend, for example, says the Star-Spangled Banner is weak and that “America the Beautiful” should be our anthem instead. Either way, this is where things now stand: Colin Kaepernick is taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem. He’s doing so to draw attention to racial inequality in a country that prides itself as being the “land of the free” and he’s now giving $1 million to causes that are trying to help with this issue. Kate Gosselin says her troubled son, Collin, has been sent away from home to treat “special needs” … and fans are far from pleased. Obviously, Collin’s personal situation has sparked debate and sympathy from the public, as no one likes to see an adolescent struggle. The 41-year-old single mom’s conduct – past and present – has come under heavy scrutiny, however, as it pertains to the child. Kate’s Instagram post promoting her People cover story, which featured all the kids but Collin, has quite the collection of harsh comments. Followers have lashed out, accusing her of exploiting her 12-year-old son’s issues for her own personal gain – nothing new for Kate. Well, fans are even more pissed. “I can’t help but think, one day Collin will read about himself on the Internet, and really think there’s something wrong with him,” says a fan. Collin has reportedly been undergoing care for at least one month at a Philadelphia-area facility nearly two hours from the family home. “[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things,” she said. “This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this.” “By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him … our entire family has been impacted [by this].” Meanwhile, a source close to the children’s father, Jon Gosselin, says he’s furious at the reality star for taking their son’s problems public. “Jon can’t believe that Kate is talking about this for the cover of a magazine,” the insider said. “Collin is just a kid, and deserves his privacy.” Jon is also beside himself that his daughters called him a deadbeat in the interview, but that’s a whole different story for another time. Colin Kaepernick stuck to his guns with his decision to take a knee during the National Anthem tonight, and teammate Eric Reid joined him in making the statement — at a game meant to salute the armed forces, no less. And it looks like Colin’s action is inspiring players on other teams as well. Drake and Rihanna are a very cute couple. They have yet to confirm their romance, but they made it clear as day during a performance on August 31 . The performance took place in Miami and they got super close to one another while performing “Work.” They were all over one another and it was pretty great. It was only a few days ago that Drake confessed his undying love to Rihanna during the MTV VMAs. They may have been trying to keep their relationship quiet at first, but it seems they are now going full steam ahead and aren't afraid of people knowing about it. After the VMAs, they were pictured looking very affectionate with one another. This didn't sit well with Chris Brown, who mocked them on Instagram. Luckily, it didn't develop into a full blown feud. That's no doubt down to the fact that Chris Brown has been acting super sketchy and waving guns at women. If that wasn't bad enough, he then refused to surrender for fourteen hours. Yikes. Rihanna made a lucky escape from that bad egg. Rihanna's relationship with Chris was full of drama, so we're glad she's finally moved on. The 2016 VMAs were career defining for Rihanna, who wowed crowds with four different performances. She essentially performed the full set from her tour. Not many singers get the opportunity to do that, but it shows how popular Rihanna is with fans. They met while filming Famously Single , but Aubrey O’Day and Pauly D could very be married by the end of this year. O’Day just wrapped Celebrity Big Brother in London, so she and the D are taking a lover’s holiday around Europe. And though she didn’t end up winning the reality competition, Pauly D still thinks O’Day a champion. “In My Eyes She Won !” he Instagram’d five days ago. Before starting the show, Aubrey sent a love note to her man on social media. “My dearest hubby@djpaulyd, I will miss you so much,” she wrote. “You are my best friend, my lover, my person, my soulmate! Hold the fort down.. take care of our babies… hopefully I’ll come home with an amazing accent ;)!” However, once O’Day was inside the CBB House, TMZ reported that Pauly D. had dumped her without her knowledge, since celebrity participants (including Mob Wives ‘ Renee Graziano) are cut off from the outside world. The site reported that the couple split “for a few days” in May, and then on August 1st the Jersey Shore star and DJ deleted all of his social media posts involving O’Day. It appears, however, that they are back together, because both O’Day and D have been posting an insane amount of loved-up photos on Instagram, complete with a selfie stick. “some people have selfie sticks.. some don’t,” O’Day wrote on one Instagram. In the photo below, O’Day is showing off a big ole’ rock on her left finger, prompting fans to wonder if Pauly D had popped the question. Teyana Taylor Joins “The Breaks,” “Hip Hop Squares” All eyes are on Teyana Taylor since her oiled-up, ab-rolling and booty-popping appearance in Kanye’s ‘Fade’ video made her everyone’s brand new #bodygoals . According to The Hollywood Reporter , Teyana’s “newfound recognition” after Kanye’s Fade video — highlighting her INSANE body and expert dance moves — has parlayed her into two steady Viacom checks. [In The Breaks ]Taylor will recur as a rapper discovered by Nikki (Afton Williamson), who is one of the first artists signed to the label that Barry Fouray (Wood Harris) is launching. The actress-singer joins a cast that also includes Mack Wilds (90210), Antoine Harris (Ballers), David Call (The Magicians), Evan Handler (Sex and the City), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Sinqua Walls (Power) and Ali Ahn (Billions).
