Bristol Palin is officially a mother for the second time. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant and daughter of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin announced on Christmas Eve that she gave birth to day before. “My sweet Sailor Grace was born yesterday, our family couldn’t be more complete,” Bristol wrote on Instagram as a caption to the photo above. The 25-year old also included a picture of her son, Tripp, standing alongside his new sister, including as a caption: “My heart just doubled.” Palin called off her wedding to Dakota Meyer back in May. A few weeks later, she reluctantly announced that she was pregnant with another child out of wedlock. “Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one,” she wrote at the time. “When life gets tough, there is no other option but to get tougher.” Since then, however, Bristol has tried as hard as possible to act all excited about this second child. “Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself,” she explained in her separate blog post. “Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on.” It remains unclear who the baby’s father is, though most assume it is Meyer. Based on a recent message from Meyer , it seems as if he is not on very good terms with his ex-fiance. It is believed that Bristol (with help from her famous mother and a number of nannies, we’re sure) will raise Sailor on her own. View Slideshow: 21 Famously Unwed Mothers
Kate Middleton, Prince William and their children pretty much make the perfect family … but was their perfect Christmas portrait doctored? Yes, this is a serious debate happening on social media. Many Royal Family fans feel that Princess Charlotte, or at least her head, was somehow altered in the official photo released last week. Charlotte’s “recycled” ensemble in William and Kate’s Christmas portrait was quickly noted, but whatever, all babies re-wear clothes. However, people started “observing” that Charlotte’s head is clearly defined in the picture, yet the area around her head is a bit fuzzy. Supposedly. The rumors began to swirl, in any event, and Elliot Wagland, Photo Editor of Huffington Post UK and AOL, weighed in. “Something is wrong with this (photoshopped) picture of the royal family,” he wrote on Twitter, taking the “scandal” to a new level. Then BuzzFeed did a whole story on this in BuzzFeed fashion. “We’re not the only ones to notice something is afoot,” the site declared. “Why is her head so clear and the area around it so blurry?” The Christmas photo has been dissected, enlarged and analyzed countless times, and frankly, the “evidence” is flimsy at best. For one, the supposed blurriness around the cutie’s neck is only visible whilst zooming in so far that the whole image is blurry . Secondly, there are other imperfections, if you will, such as Charlotte adorably losing a shoe and William not looking at the camera. Any family of four – particularly ones who own humans under the age of three – know it’s next to impossible to get everyone to look. If they cared, they would choose a different picture, no? Finally, even if there were airbrushing, filtering or Photoshop involved … this distinguishes the royals from exactly no one in this era. You don’t even need Photoshop proper these days, as technology on every mobile device lets you enhance and edit photos in 20 seconds. Seriously, the drama over Kate Middleton’s bangs and her oft-debated commoner holiday plans have more legs as royal non-scandals go. A Palace spokesperson told BuzzFeed that the royal family had no comment … but reportedly laughed out loud when asked about it. LOL, indeed.

Atlanta Teenager Candace Hill Is The Fastest Track Star In Nation Georgia teen, Candace Hill, is breaking records and excelling in her academics as one of the premiere young athletes of our generation according to New York Times : When Candace Hill became the fastest teenage girl the United States has ever clocked, sprinting 100 meters in 10.98 seconds in June, she was suddenly good enough not only to qualify for next summer’s Rio Olympics, but also to potentially win a medal there. Now, at age 16, she has become the youngest track athlete in the United States to turn professional. “It’s the era of the girl in general,” said Lauren Fleshman, a professional runner and five-time N.C.A.A. champion at Stanford. “Women have never been more marketable in sports than they are now, from U.S. soccer to Serena. Forty-plus years since Title IX means we have our first generation of supportive parents and coaches who grew up with the idea of female athletes not being horrifying. People are training girls harder than ever.” Allyson Felix turned professional instead of running for the University of Southern California in 2003, going on to become one of the most successful American sprinters in history. Felix remained the only track athlete to bypass college for professional running until a decade later, when the middle-distance runner Mary Cain signed with Nike in 2013 at age 17 before enrolling at the University of Portland. Cain was followed by the distance runner Alexa Efraimson, who signed with Nike at age 17 in 2014. Earlier this year, Kaylin Whitney, who set the high school 100-meter record before Hill shattered it, signed with Nike on her 17th birthday. The middle-distance runner Ajee’ Wilson turned pro right after high school instead of competing in college in 2012. But none of them stood out the way Hill does. Her potential is considered so outsize that she brokered an unusual arrangement with Asics, a running footwear and apparel company. It will cover full tuition for Hill, who has a 4.6 grade-point average and top-10 class ranking in her magnet school near Atlanta, at any college that admits her. The contract, which at 10 years is also uncommonly long, effectively serves as an athletic scholarship, even though Hill, who plans to attend college while competing, will not be eligible to race collegiately. (Asics and Hill declined to discuss the financial terms of the arrangement.) “Candace is as good a student as she is an athlete, and we found that intriguing,” said Gene McCarthy, the chief executive of Asics America Group. “For us, she’s a Halley’s comet of sport, a teenager who’s tremendously gifted in both mind and body. With that talent and drive, we’re betting that she can be the fastest woman in the world someday.” See you at the Olympics Candace!!! Steve Strother Photo
