The Taste Season 3 Episode 1 Recap: Who Will Taste Greatness?

Thursday marked the return of ABC’s culinary competition, as The Taste Season 3 Episode 1 saw a new crop of amateurs and professionals compete. With only 16 spots available in the search for America’s best undiscovered cook, The Taste Season 3 Episode 1 was a delicious battle royale indeed. Watch The Taste Season 3 Episode 1 Online We begin with the blind auditions, in which the judges will taste a bite blind. If you watch The Taste online , you know it’s make or break early on! Firefighter Dan’s crab cake impressed Nigella and Ludo, giving Dan the choice of celebrity advisor, not unlike NBC’s The Voice. He went with Ludo. Mika crashed and burned, however, while Renee Oteri from The Bachelor was chosen to be on Nigella’s team. Sure beats Juan Pablo’s team. Eric impressed all four judges with his dish, and he chose Anthony. With the teams chosen, they delved into the action with the theme of “childhood.” The task: Each mentor assigned a type of dish for their team to cook, then chose the best dish to represent the team in a blind taste test by Stephanie Izard. That renowned chef decided that Nigella’s team had the worst bite, which in turn meant that Nigella had to choose one of her cooks to be sent home. P.K. seemed like the consensus pick to get the chop, but Nigella sent home Renee. Again, it sure beats getting booted out by Juan Pablo Galavis .

Kristin Cavallari: Manipulated, Humiliated, Embarrassed By Laguna Beach!

On a new episode of Oprah’s Where Are They Now? airing Sunday, former Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari looks back at the show that made her a star. Her reflection isn’t as positive as her fans might expect, either. Why? “I was a junior in high school. MTV showed up and did open casting,” she recalls. “You grab a 20-page packet, then they would take your Polaroid, and from there, they did on-camera interviews.” “They sort of narrowed it down to these eight people.” That would be Kristin Cavallari, Stephen Colletti , Morgan Olsen, Trey Phillips, Christina Schuller, Talan Torriero, Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth . “We had no idea what we were doing,” Kristin says, with a significant tinge of regret. “We were just going along with whatever MTV was telling us to do.” In fact, Cavallari felt producers capitalized on her naivety. How so? “My boyfriend at the time [Stephen Coletti] would take Lauren Conrad to dinner and buy her flowers, which never would have happened if it weren’t for the show and MTV.” “I felt very used and manipulated.” Cavallari, in turn, served as Conrad’s foil, which was hard for her, “Being 16, 17 in high school, not knowing really how to handle your emotions.” “I put up a wall. I put up a really tough exterior because I felt like they were really trying to take advantage of me,” she says of being deemed the “bad girl.” Laguna Beach Cast: Then & Now 1. Now married to an NFL star quarterback (Jay Cutler) with two beautiful children, she’s come a long way from Laguna Beach, and is doing very well. “I still to this day think you should be 18 to do a reality show,” she still says, more than a little jaded from it all, “if only because of my experience.” Consider it a cautionary tale for teenagers from a seasoned pro. Nicki Minaj Hints at Teenage Abortion in New Release

Nicki Minaj has come out with a new single. But instead of fans focusing on the beats of “All Things Go,” many have honed in on the track’s lyrics, most notably a passage that seems to imply Minaj either suffered a miscarriage or had an abortion 16 years ago. Referencing younger brother Micaiah, Minaj raps at one point: “I want Caiah to go to college just to say we did it/My child with Aaron, would’ve have been sixteen any minute/So in some ways I feel like Caiah is the both of them/It’s like he’s Cai’s little angel looking over him.” The 31-year old also makes it clear that she was once engaged. Or at least that someone once asked for her hand in marriage. “Ten years ago, that’s when you proposed/I look down, yes I suppose,” Nicki raps. In 2008, Minaj admitted to feeling guilt about having had an abortion in the single “Autobiography.” She was around 15 at the time she ended her pregnancy. Earlier this year, rumors of Nicki Minaj being pregnant (courtesy of Lil Wayne) circulated around the Internet, but they were never true, of course. Minaj often shares pictures of her nipples , but rarely opens up about her personal life. As a result, fans who have listed to “All Things Go” have been expressing their support for the artist over Twitter. “The fact that we know how private of a person you are. To have u give us something like All Things Go. Taylor Swift recorded her performance this week for the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which will air December 9 on CBS and which will give viewers a look at the artist as they’ve rarely seen her before: In lingerie! The artist performs here at the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She completed the ensemble with maribou-trimmed high-heeled sandals. And with the jaws of men everyone dropped firmly to the ground. As seen in the photo gallery above, Taylor also wore a lacy black number that made it clear why Matt Healy wants to date the superstar. Last year, Swift performed at this same fashion show with Fall Out Boy. This year, she sang by herself while good friend Karlie Kloss strutted down the runway along her side. In case there was any doubt about whether the Victoria’s Secret Angels accept Swift on their stage, meanwhile, consider the group shot that was snapped after this week’s taping. Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac: Secretly Married!

UPDATE : Yup, they are married! Back in September, Scarlett Johansson welcomed her first child – a baby girl named Rose. Scarlett’s been dating Rose’s father  – French journalist Romain Dauriac – since 2012, and insiders say they began discussing plans to get hitched just weeks after they first met. Scarlett and Romain got engaged last year, just a few months before the actress announced her pregnancy. Sources claimed the couple decided to delay their wedding until after ScarJo gave birth, and the world waited with bated breath to see what sort of high fashion gown the famously stylish starlet would rock for her second wedding. Now it seems we may not get that chance, as Scarlett and Romain reportedly wed in secret back in September. “Scarlett and Romain were married in a very intimate ceremony after the birth of their daughter,” a source tells the New York Post. “They kept the wedding a big secret because they both wanted privacy.” Earlier this month, Scarlett was spotted wearing what many believed to be a wedding band at a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy victims. Johansson has hinted in the past that she plans to settle down in Dauriac’s native France. She divorced actor Ryan Reynolds in 2011 after three years of marriage. Kim Kardashian: So Thankful for North West!

It may not be alluring as photos of  Kim Kardashian nude . But it’s far more adorable. Kim Kardashian has posted a new picture online in honor of Thanksgiving, giving Instagram followers a fresh look at daughter North West and penning as a caption that she’s so “thankful” for her “best friend.” Little Nori looks all grown up in the image, as she stands around in a black furry coat with matching pants and shoes. She’s also rocking some diamond earrings and her black hair is pulled back in a small bun. Kim has been publishing more and more pictures of her child as North grows older. She says she’d be fine with North posing naked someday, which is a VERY disturbing thought, and she’s also been open of late about her plans to have a second child with Kanye West. There’s been some talk of Kardashian using a surrogate for this second baby, but that rumor has seemingly been put to rest. When the world first learned that Miley Cyrus is dating Patrick Schwarzenegger , many people assumed she’d settle down a bit and start pursuing a more toned-down, traditional life. It turns out, those people don’t know squat about Miley: Hey, sometimes on a Tuesday night you find yourself dressed like a taco drunkenly slurring into a microphone, right?  Yes, despite the fact that she’s now linked to one of the most powerful political families in America, Miley’s Instagram page is still one of the weirdest places on the Internet. We’re sorry to see that Miley’s no longer trolling Kim Kardashian with Photoshopped butt pics, but we’re glad she’s still posting some seriously WTF photos and offering nothing in the way of an explanation. Miley celebrated her 22nd birthday over the weekend, and from the looks of things, the party is still chugging along. Not that Ms. Cyrus needs a reason to get hammered and wrap herself in a tortilla. Of course, it’s possible we’re jumping to conclusions here. We don’t know for certain that Miley is drunk. We’re just basing that assumption on her eyes, her attire, and the fact that she admits she woke up with “yesterday’s face jewlz on.” Naturally, we don’t blame the girl. A couple weeks ago,  Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger were caught kissing on camera on the sidelines of a college football game. But if that was the couple’s way of going public, we have to now wonder: What does it mean to be caught licking each other inside a photo booth?!? The singer and the actor’s son attended the birthday party of tattoo artist Dakota Gomez last night.  It was held at The Hudson bar in West Hollywood and Gomez posted a snapshot on Instagram of various photo booth participants from the evening. Look closely and you’ll see Miley and Patrick playfully groping each other while squeezing into the tight space with their pals: “To all of you that surprised me last night and came out to celebrate my birthday thankyou,” Gomez wrote as a caption. “Great friends, good food and even better drinks (thankyou @jessebrooke @kevmarciano ) made it a night I will never forget!” Cyrus and Schwarzenegger are clearly going very strong. Over the weekend, they came together to celebrate Miley’s 22nd birthday , which was held by good friend Jeff Beacher at the new Beachers Madhouse, also in West Hollywood. Onlookers say the twosome enjoyed plenty of PDA for this occasion as well. “Miley and Patrick were spotted hugging, kissing and dancing together,” a witness tells E! Kendra Wilkinson’s mother is at it again, criticizing her famous daughter for taking part in more reality shows in the wake of her recent marital problems. If you watch Kendra on Top online , or read celebrity gossip sites, you know Kendra and her mother have had plenty of ups and downs over the years. This may be the lowest of the lows, though. While Friday’s season finale ended with Hank Baskett proposing and Wilkinson saying he’s worth forgiving (whatever happened), her mom is disgusted. Not for Kendra taking Hank back, though we’re guessing she doesn’t approve of that either. It’s Kendra’s new TV ventures that have Patti Wilkinson upset. “We do not talk, it’s really sad,” Patti Wilkinson told The Sun (UK) , summing up their present status. “I don’t think she cares at all. She’s written us off.” “Kendra and I have no contact.” The latest rift comes as Kendra has signed on for two new reality shows in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here and Marriage Boot Camp (with Hank). Patti says she didn’t even even know about the former, which has Kendra competing with other celebs in Australia for a matter of weeks, off the grid.
