The Bachelorette star Desiree Hartsock says she has a good idea what she’s after – and what she wants to avoid – when her quest for love kicks off May 27. “I like someone who’s spontaneous, adventurous and enjoys every aspect of life,” says the 26-year-old, who vied for Sean Lowe ‘s heart on The Bachelor . “And, not to get too serious, but someone who could be my best friend and a support system, someone who I can see as the father of my kids.” She does not have to look far for inspiration. “My parents have been together 40 years and married for 35,” she says. “My dad has her back no matter what. She’s so affectionate to him. They act like they are 16.” A deal breaker, Desiree Hartsock says, would be dating the kind of person “who is selfish and doesn’t want kids, because I really do want a family .” So how did she handle the pressure of finding Mr. Right from the vantage point of being The Bachelorette and having 25 men competing for her? “I’m not going to lie. National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre has sparked controversy, again, this time by linking the Boston bombing to the ongoing gun control debate . In the NRA chief’s view, it all boils down to a simple, rhetorical question: “How many Bostonians wish they had a gun two weeks ago?” “Imagine living in a large metro area where lawful firearms ownership is heavily regulated and discouraged,” he said at the annual NRA convention in Houston. “Imagine waking up to a phone call from the police, warning that a terrorist event is occurring outside and ordering you to stay inside your home.” “I’m talking, of course, about Boston, where residents were imprisoned behind the locked doors of their homes, a terrorist with bombs and guns just outside.” “Frightened citizens, sheltered in place, with no means to defend themselves or their families from whatever may come crashing through the door.” “How many Bostonians wished they had a gun two weeks ago?” he asked. “How many other Americans now ponder that life-or-death question?” LaPierre is the most public face of the NRA, which has determinedly fought efforts by President Barack Obama and Congress to strengthen gun laws. He is as unabashed as he is aggressive in fighting for what he believes in: “The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” “Boston proves it,” he said. “When brave law enforcement officers did their jobs so courageously, good guys with guns stopped terrorists with guns.” Is he exploiting a tragedy to make his point? No, he argues. In fact, it’s the Obama administration and gun control activists who are doing the exploiting. LaPierre said the “Washington elites” are interested only in “demonizing law-abiding gun owners,” and exploit tragedy “by choice, for political gain.” What’s your take? My name is Heidi, I’m 17 and I’m from Norway . I never ever thought that I would be writing down my own Bieber experience. I’m so happy that I can finally do it! In the picture (above) my best friend, Lene is on the left, then myself (with the pink and black scarf) and on right side it’s my other best friend. I was attending Justin’s concert on the 18 th of April. As every belieber, it’s been my dream to meet Justin. My best friend decided to start the hashtag #BieberMeetHeidi on Twitter, she wrote a twit-longer about it and spread the word. We got a lot of accounts tweeting about it but that wasn’t enough. As it came closer and closer to the concert, I tweeted the crew about the hashtag. I also had entered Bieberfever’s Best Collection contest a few weeks earlier. On the 17 th I was a nerve wreck all day long, and I had my phone with me because I knew Bieberfever was going to email whoever won their competition. My best friend came over to my house in the evening and we were just chilling when I suddenly got an email. It was from Bieberfever saying that I’ve won the contest and I was gonna meet Justin. I jumped up and down screaming, “OH MY GOD I’M MEETING JUSTIN! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I WON!” My friend was like, “Haha, you’re so funny,” but then I started crying and she realized I wasn’t kidding. I then called my other best friend because I was going to the concert with both of them the next day and I was allowed to bring only one friend to the meet & greet. I couldn’t pick between them, so I decided to write down each one of their names on a piece of paper, that was the only fair way to decide. I decided to email Bieberfever asking them if there was any way possible that I could get an extra M&G pass so my other friend wouldn’t be walking alone at the arena. They replied that they would put it in the request. The next day we were outside at the waiting area at the arena for 4 hours and it was so cold outside. When the clock hit 4:00 p.m it was time for the M&G people to walk to the arena. I asked the people for a third wristband but that wasn’t enough for them. Lena and I had no other choice to leave Lene in the waiting area inside the building. We went to another room, waiting to get the information we needed to meet Justin. Suddenly Lene came in crying – with a wristband on! We all cried a bit because we were so happy that all of us were going to meet Justin. There was a table outside the room where you could put down gifts you had for Justin, and I had written him a letter. Suddenly the whole lined moved really fast, and it was our turn to meet Justin! When the security guard held the curtain open to let the people who were meeting Justin before us in, I saw Justin. I said to my friends, “There he is! I just saw him!” and then it was our turn. I looked straight at Justin’s face. Not a single flaw. He really is as perfect as he looks like in pictures, he’s even more flawless in real life if that’s even possible. The security guards were like, “Okay, you go there, and you there, and smile,” and then the photo was taken. Right after the photo was taken, the security guards were pushing us out but I managed to ask Justin something as I walked past him, “Can I get a hug?” I asked, and he answered, “No, sorry.” Turns out they were all in a hurry and they were behind schedule. While Justin was saying, “No sorry,” he looked genuinely sad. I’m not even kidding. My friends also saw it, it broke my heart. The fact that he replied to my question, he heard what I said and he answered, made my day.. it made my year. He talked to me. When we were outside the arena I was just like… woah. Did I just meet Justin Bieber? My idol? My inspiration and hero? Yes. I just want to tell whoever reads this, never say never and believe in your dreams. Young black men are still dying suspicious deaths in the South. Via ABC Local News The family of a Lowndes High School student who died at school tonight is demanding a federal investigation. Today, investigators officially ruled 17-year old Kendrick Johnson’s death an accident. That announcement came just an hour before friends, family and civil rights activists marched outside Lowndes High School demanding justice. The family believes Johnson was murdered. His body was found inside a rolled-up cheerleading mat in the old Lowndes High School gym January 11th. Investigators believe he was in the gym alone, reached into the mat to get something he dropped, and got stuck. Today’s final autopsy report ruled the death an accident as a result of positional asphyxia. “I’m frustrated that my nephew was supposedly found in a mat, when that doesn’t make sense,” said Johnson’s Aunt, Stacy Roe. Civil Rights activists with Reverend Al Sharpton’s National Action Network and The United Justice League led the rally, calling for a federal investigation. “We want an independent investigation, lets just say by an agency with higher credentials than Lowndes County. There’s been a number of what we feel are inconsistencies, are mishandlings, and for that very reason is why we want another set of eyes,” said Atlanta’s National Action Network Chapter President, Marcus Coleman. The family says they expected the autopsy report would rule the death as an accident. And they plan to keep rallying until federal investigators step in. “When you have the body that’s been moved, when you have the Coroner’s Office being notified hours later, when you have the misplacement of his clothing, which could be a direct indicator of any evidence needed to move forward,” said Coleman. Lowndes County Sheriff’s officials say the statements of his body being moved and his clothes being misplaced are untrue. But Coroner Bill Waston has voiced his anger that he wasn’t notified until hours after Johnson’s body was discovered. The Sheriff’s office says the investigation still remains open. The Johnson Family organized another rally Saturday at Serenity Christian Church in Valdosta at 5:00 p.m. Reverend Al Sharpton is scheduled to speak Hit the flip for the photo that has people very suspicious over the true cause of Johnson’s death.
