Ryan Lanza Responds on Facebook After Media Erroneously Reports Him as Sandy Hook Killer

Ryan Lanza is already grieving and no doubt floored by the deaths of his brother, Adam Lanza, their mother Nancy and the 26 other people Adam killed yesterday. As if that weren’t enough to process, he was erroneously named as the man responsible for the Connecticut shooting by overzealous media outlets at first. Many TV news outlets and websites were scrambling after reporting Ryan Lanza, 24, was the shooter, even though state and federal officials did not confirm this. It is now believed that Adam Lanza , 20, had an ID of Ryan’s on him, leading to the initial confusion. But for Ryan, it made for an interesting few hours at work. Ryan, 24, has worked at Ernst & Young in New Jersey for four years, following in the footsteps of his father, a former partner in the large accounting firm. Ryan was at work yesterday and not a suspect in the case for even an instant, but news outlets claimed his killed 26 people in Newtown, Conn. Some even splashed his photo on screen. Not surprisingly, he was inundated with posts, texts and calls, after which someone began posting on his Facebook page (presumably Ryan) that he is NOT the killer. Because he was not involved whatsoever, it’s unclear if he realized his brother was involved at the time the media was initially reporting the story. NBC, one of, if not the first to report Ryan’s involvement, later said that an ID bearing his name on Adam’s person made them believe Ryan Lanza was the culprit. Not the case, clearly. In any case, it’s the last thing Ryan and Peter Lanza care about now. They are said to be “in shock” over what happened, much like the rest of the nation and world. Both spoke to the FBI in Hoboken, N.J., but “are not suspects, they have no involvement ,” a source says. Ryan, the source adds, is as clean as they come. The Lanza brothers’ parents are divorced, and Adam lived with mother Nancy in the same town where the massacre – one of the worst in U.S. history – took place. It is believed the guns used were registered in her name. The first Adam Lanza photos were released to the media last night, along with a portrait of a young man whose troubles apparently went unrecognized. “It looks like there’s mental history there,” a law enforcement source says.

Rhonda Lee Fired For Defending Hair on Facebook, Meteorologist’s Fans Lash Out

Louisiana meteorologist Rhonda Lee defended her short hair after being insulted on Facebook, only to be fired … and receive a groundswell of support online. A viewer took Lee, of Shreveport’s KTBS, to task October 1 for having short hair, rather than for any job-related issues. Lee, 37, responded in the comments. Instead of backing her up or deleting the offensive post, however, the network fired Lee , saying she had violated the company’s unofficial social media policy. Now, her fans are furious. Nearly 1,000 people have signed a petition asking that KTBS rehire Lee, saying she was victimized twice, once by the viewer “and again by KTBS.” “Rhonda Lee deserves to have her job back,” the petition reads. “Her eloquent response to the bigoted and sexist remarks of viewer Emmitt Vascocu were warranted.” “Employers such as KTBS-TV should stand by their employees and on-air talent whenever they are verbally attacked based on their looks, values or merit.” “I would never have dreamed in a million years that I would get all this support,” Lee told the Daily News. “It’s been a tough go at first to not be angry. But mostly I’m just sad. I genuinely loved where I worked. I loved my viewers. I made my home here.” For its part, KTBS says Lee “was not dismissed for her appearance or defending her appearance” but rather for the repeated violation of the company policy. “Unfortunately, television personalities have long been subject to harsh criticism and negative viewer comments about their appearance and performance,” the ABC affiliate said. “If harsh viewer comments are posted, there is a specific procedure to follow.” Rhonda Lee, however, says she never saw the policy in question, and that when she asked for it following her termination, higher-ups told her no. KTBS, on the other hand, says Lee received an email outlining the procedure, which states that it is “best not to respond at all” to viewer complaints. What did Lee write, and in response to what, exactly? “The black lady that does the news is a very nice lady. the onlt [sic] thing is she needs to wear a wig or grow some more hair,” wrote Emmitt Vascocu on October 1. “im not sure if she is a cancer patient. but its not something that i think looks good on tv.” Days later, when KTBS still hadn’t respond to the Facebook post on its page, Lee did. “Hello Emmitt I am the “black lady” to which you are referring. My name is Rhonda Lee. Nice to meet you,” she wrote on October 6, in the comments. “I am sorry you don’t like my ethnic hair. And no I don’t have cancer.” “I am very proud of my African-American ancestry which includes my hair. For your edification: traditionally our hair doesn’t grow downward. It grows upward.” “Many Black women use strong straightening agents in order to achieve a more European grade of hair and that is their choice. However in my case I don’t find it necessary.” “I’m very proud of who I am and the standard of beauty I display. As women we come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and levels of beauty.” “Showing little girls that being comfortable in the skin and HAIR God gave me is my contribution to society,” the TV personality concluded. “Little girls (and boys for that matter) growing up in this world need to see that what you look like isn’t a reason to not achieve their goals.”

Carly Rae Jepsen Nude Photo Hacker: Arrested!

The Canadian hacker accused of stealing photos of Carly Rae Jepsen nude off her computer and trying to sell them has been arrested, according to reports. Yes … Carly Rae Jepsen apparently has nude pics of herself on her computer. According to Vancouver police, Christopher David Long, 25, turned himself in. He has been charged with fraudulently obtaining telecommunications services, unauthorized use of computer, mischief to data, identity fraud, and possession of stolen property. Officials originally received a tip about the stolen Carly Rae Jepsen nude photos from her camp in March, and have been investigating the matter ever since. Police have been closing in only recently; it’s unclear why Long gave himself up . Long has since been released from custody and is due back in court January 4. None of the alleged pics made their way online … that we know of. Yet. If they were indeed hacked, it’s probably only a matter of time. [Photo: WENN.com]

Elin Nordegren Mansion: Home Swede Home!

Elin Nordegren isn’t quite done renovating her mansion, but the model’s European roots will be prominently displayed on her expansive Palm Beach property. She already has a Swedish flag flying from the roof, according to reports. New photos of the former Mrs. Tiger Woods’ 21,000-square foot mansion were published this week. The master bedroom is 1,200 square feet. That’s one room. There’s a path to the beach, an Olympic-sized pool, a spa, a gym and a wine room, koi ponds, a movie theater and of course, the giant ass Swedish flag . Elin Nordegren reportedly received more than $100 million after her divorce from Tiger and is using some of the gigantic settlement to build her dream home. She dropped $12.2 million on an estate in North Palm Beach last year … then had the thing razed to the ground. The photo above shows it in its previous form. Guess she liked the view more than the decor? The locale is just 30 miles from Tiger’s home in Jupiter, Fla., which is good for their kids, and is a short commute to Rollins College where she’s studying psychology. Maybe they offer courses in spotting habitual cheaters. For extensive evidence on just how much of a moron Tiger Woods is, check out these Elin Nordegren photos ! [Photos: Pacific Coast News]

Kim Kardashian Lingerie Photos: Ogle Away!

You’re not gonna believe this, but Kim Kardashian recently posed for French fashion magazine Factice and the lingerie photos that resulted from the shoot are quite revealing. If you’re a Kim fan, they’re nothing short of ogle-worthy. The cover girl for the new issue isn’t covering much. Kim’s sexy spread includes garter belts, lacy lingerie, a pearl necklace (yeah, yeah), fur wraps and sky-high heels. Kanye is buying 1,000 copies right about now. “Here are the inside shots from my cover issue of Factice Magazine, shot by Vijat Mohindra,” Kim blogged. “I’m so pleased with the way the shots turned out.” “This was such a glamorous, feminine shoot and it was an honor to work with Vijat.” And an honor, as always, to increase Kim’s celebrity by posting them, while simultaneously wondering how she got so famous. The cycle is not un-paradoxical. Anyway, hot stuff! Click to enlarge more Kim Kardashian photos below:
