Alexander Kinyua, Maryland College Student, Admits Devouring Roommate’s Brain and Heart

Maybe this zombie apocalypse thing really does have legs. In another odd, horrifying incident of human flesh-eating, Alexander Kinyua, a student in Maryland, allegedly admitted to devouring his roommate’s brain and heart. The 21-year-old Morgan State University student says that he killed Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, who was reported missing last Friday, cops told the Baltimore Sun . Kinyua’s father called police late Tuesday night when Kinyua’s brother reportedly found human remains, a head and two hands, in a metal tin in the basement. The brother and father left the room for a short time, but when they came back, the body parts had been moved and Alexander Kinyua was washing out the tin. Officers searched the house and arrested Kinyua. The man then allegedly confessed a shocking revelation eerily reminiscent of Rudy Eugene: not only had he killed Agyei-Kodie by cutting him up with a knife and then dismembered him, he ingested parts of the victim’s brain and all of his heart. He allegedly dropped most of the remains in a dumpster. It’s yet unclear what Kinyua’s motive may have been (no, there were no bath salts involved), but he was charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday. The gruesome case comes on the heels of a similar attack in Miami, in which Rudy Eugene was killed after eating homeless man Ronald Poppo’s face.

Demi Lovato Dreams of Marriage, Kids

Demi Lovato is currently judging X Factor auditions and will kick off a summer tour on June 12 in Del Mar, California. In other words: she’s very busy these days. But give the singer about a decade and she’ll be ready to settle down. “I want to be married with kids in 10 years,” Lovato tells the latest issue of Cosmopolitan , which is apparently all about sex and nudity for a change. With what kind of man will Lovato end up? She can’t say for certain, of course, but she does dish on one deal breaker:’ “I know one quality I won’t tolerate: I would never be with a guy who is controlling.” That point of view has to do with the problems has Lovato encountered throughout her teenage years, issues related to depression and eating disorders. She tells Cosmo she felt “relieved” when she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2010. “I felt relieved when I found out. Like I’m not completely crazy; there’s a medical reason for all of it. It’s a daily thing; you don’t get time off from it. And if I feel myself slipping back into old patterns, I have to ask others for help, which is hard for me to learn, because I really like doing everything on my own.”

Michelle Obama (Sort of) Speaks on Barack’s Pot-Smoking Ways

Leave it to Michelle Obama to take the high road. Pun sort of intended. While appearing on The Daily Show to promote her newest book, American Grown , the First Lady was asked about President Barack Obama’s pot-smoking past. Stewart likened Obama’s youth to “the script of a Cheech and Chong movie.” Not surprisingly, the Commander-in-Chief’s better half had a classy response. “He was like many young people,” she said, adding that her husband changed his ways in college when “he realized he could do more with his life.” Stewart later tried to a comparison between President Obama and George W. Bush, whose past was also “out there,” saying “he really related to that.” “I’m not taking any bait,” Obama quickly replied, to Stewart’s amusement. The First Lady is classy and funny, ladies and gentlemen.

Military Moms Breastfeeding in Uniform: National Pride or Over the Line?

National pride? Disgrace? Somewhere in the middle? A photo of two servicewomen breastfeeding their children while in uniform has gone viral and added a new layer to the ongoing debate over nursing in public. It’s probably safe to say the Time Magazine breastfeeding cover went over quite well with Mom2Mom, a breastfeeding support group for military mothers. In a series of tasteful professional photos showing beaming moms nursing kids, one jumps out for obvious reasons: the photo of two servicewomen below … “A lot of people are saying it’s a disgrace to the uniform. They’re comparing it to urinating and defecating [while in uniform],” says Crystal Scott, a military spouse living at Fairchild AFB outside Spokane, Wash., who started Mom2Mom in January. “It’s extremely upsetting. Defecating in public is illegal. Breastfeeding is not.” It was Scott’s idea to ask photographer Brynja Sigurdardottir to take the photos and create posters for National Breastfeeding Awareness Month in August. One of the moms photographed in uniform, Terran Echegoyen-McCabe, breastfeeds her 10-month-old twin girls on her lunch breaks during drill weekends. “I have breast-fed in our lobby, in my car, in the park … and I pump, usually in the locker room,” says the proud member of the Air National Guard.” “I’m proud to be wearing a uniform while breastfeeding. I hope [the photo] encourages other women to know they can, whether they’re active duty, guard or civilian.” She said she’s surprised by the reaction to the photos, which also feature her friend Christina Luna, because it never occurred to her it would cause a stir. “There isn’t a policy saying we can or cannot breastfeed in uniform,” Echegoyen-McCabe says. “I think we do need to be able to breastfeed in uniform and be protected.” What do you think? Should they be allowed to?

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd: New Couple Alert?

Dancing With the Stars’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy was photographed kissing fellow pro dancer co-star Peta Murgatroyd this weekend, sparking rumors of romance. On Saturday at the Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, Maksim was there celebrating with Peta, who won Dancing With the Stars with Donald Driver last week. That wasn’t the only time the hard-bodied pair and rumored couple were spotted together in Sin City. Witnesses have seen them together all over Vegas. And, at the opening of Chmerkovskiy’s new dance studio in Connecticut on May 23, the pair stood arm-in-arm while he whispered in her ear. Hmm … “She’s had a crush on him for a long time,” a source tells People of Peta. “They are really great together. And he is very happy. It’s early but I think this will last. They’re a great match, a good couple. She says they’re not dating but they are. Everyone knows it.” Still, at the debut of the Dance With Me studio (which Maks opened with his brother Val and fellow pro Tony Dovolani), both danced around questions . “I’m here to support Maksim,” was all Murgatroyd would say about Chmerkovskiy, who wouldn’t directly address the nature of their relationship either. “I try to keep certain things private just because – what’s a politically correct way of saying it? It’s none of anybody’s business,” he said. “It’s very intimate and personal.” Yeah. They’re totally doing the horizontal Argentine tango. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]

Will Ferrell Injured in Million-Dollar Soccer Match of the Stars

With $6.4 million at stake for UNICEF, some of the world’s best footballers faced off in England over the weekend with some of the sport’s most enthusiastic celebrity hobbyists. The good news: Charity won big! The bad news: Celebrities did not, with one even landing in the hospital. The annual Soccer Aid benefit packed Old Trafford, the home of the Manchester United, where the team from England beat the “Rest of the World” team — comprising the likes of Will Ferrell, Edward Norton, Mike Myers, Gerard Butler, James McAvoy, Woody Harrelson and shouty TV chef Gordon Ramsay — by a score of 3-1. And since no soccer tilt would ever be complete without some poor bastard writhing on the pitch in hyperdramatic anguish, this match was no different — at least until, in the second half, things got really ugly : Ferrell limped off the field in considerable pain with a leg injury late in Sunday’s annual Soccer Aid game at Manchester United’s Old Trafford but will have counted himself more fortunate than Ramsay, who earlier was hospitalized following a heavy challenge. The foul-mouthed Hell’s Kitchen star was stretchered off the field while receiving oxygen, after being flattened by former England international Teddy Sheringham midway through the second half. He later was released from the hospital. Let us relive the moment in pictures! Observe Ferrell above right, shortly before he wound up on the turf with a leg injury that ended his day: So were any actors not hurt during this very intense exhibition match? Surprisingly many, if the rest of the photo record is to be believed! Nevertheless, Edward Norton and Woody Harrelson took every fluorescent precaution available to them… …while Mike Myers competed with swanlike finesse and grace… …along with flying Scotsmen Gerard Butler and James McAvoy (as seen alongside teammate Harrelson)… Here’s to a swift recovery for Ferrell, Ramsay and all the rest convalescing after the match. Charity hurts. [Photos: Getty Images]
