Source: YouTube / Youtube This past Saturday night Lil Pump and Kanye West turned in a struggle performance for the ages when they were the musical guests on Saturday Night Live, and now the “Molly” rapper is reportedly canceling his upcoming Harvard Dropout Tour thanks to a probation violation. According to Complex , the tour dates for Pump’s highly anticipated 15-show tour have been scrapped from Live Nation ‘s website. A rep for Pump told Complex that “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lil Pump’s Harvard Dropout Tour has been canceled. Refunds will be provided at point of purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience.” We probably should’ve seen this coming as just a few weeks ago the “Gucci Gang” rapper took to IG to tell his fans that he was going to “do a couple of months” in the bing being that his arrest in Miami violated his probation in Los Angeles. Coast to coast consequences, B. We have to admit that he doesn’t seem phased by the pending prison stint he’s set to serve. Other rappers have begged judges to spare them from sentencing them to an unwanted iron vacation. Check out Pump’s previous announcement below. — Photo: WENN
Agency: Wilhelmina Models Instagram: @ieshahodgesofficial Claim to Fame: She’s has been snapped for Forever 21 , Nasty Gal , ASOS and others. She’s also ripped the runway for one of Cardi B .’s favs Christian Cowan, and won a V Magazine /Ford Model Search winner in January of 2014. There was a time when Barbie wasn’t brown . She didn’t have full lips , or a gap between her teeth. She didn’t have edge or energy, heck she wasn’t even anatomically correct. Then came women like Iesha Hodges. The model’s “ real beauty” has the very thing the commercial toy giant (not to mention the fashion industry ) has been accused of missing. When you see a platinum blonde doll sporting her face on her Instagram page you get it. It just feels right. She’s a new kind of blonde bombshell and her beauty is undeniable. Since breaking into the modeling business she’s been booked and busy with brands like Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs wanting to place her lovely features on front street. Still even she has been surprised at her own success. She was named one of Harper’s Bazaar faces to watch in 2017 and told the magazine, “ I was discovered at the age of 17 when I entered a modeling contest online. I had no clue that by submitting some photos of my teen self with shaved hair on the sides, a bad weave and poor background lighting would ever be the beginning of a beautiful journey.” That journey has allowed her to stick up for others. She says “redefining beauty standards ” is in her job description and devotes her time to mentoring “inspiring and empowering women and youth to follow their dreams.” Hodges is fittingly one of the fresh faces reviving Fila for a newer generation reclaiming the streetwear appropriated by Urban Outfitters devotees nationwide with ease. Considering the fact that she born and raised in Brooklyn (a place some consider the birth of streetwear), this too just feels right on time. Photo Courtesy of VH1 “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Scrapp Deleon Freed From Jail A “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star is finally free after spending several years behind bars. Scrapp Deleon who we haven’t seen on LHHATL since he was sentenced in 2016 is out of jail. The news was confirmed by Momma Dee who sent a congratulatory message to Scrapp’s mother Karen King and posed with him in a picture. Karen also confirmed the news with a photo of Scrapp’s super chiseled post-prison body. Scrapp received a five-year sentence after pleading guilty to drug trafficking. He also received 15 years probation and a $100,000 fine. We wonder what his ex-bae Tommie thinks about all this, she was JUST in jail herself for driving under the influence.
Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Global Citizen Panic Ensues As People Mistake Fallen Barrier For Gunshots At Festival Every year, thousands of people pack into Central Park in New York City for Global Citizen Festival, a concert that boasts big headliners and free tickets, all for the cause of ending extreme poverty by 2030. This year, however, there was some panic at the festival that almost halted the concert. Just ahead of Janet Jackson’s set at the Global Citizen Festival, a fallen barrier caused panic among the 60,000 attendees–who reportedly thought it was the sound of gunshots. Witnesses at the scene told the New York Times that the confusion and fear of an active shooter at the music festival nearly caused a stampede as concertgoers fled. Chris Martin, who was on the stage at the time, tried to calm the attendees down. “What happened is a barrier I think fell down. Of course it caused people to be a bit frightened and stuff like that. But nobody is trying to hurt nobody. You are all safe,” he said to cheers before handing the microphone to NYPD’s assistant chief Kathleen O’Reilly, who also reassured the safety of the attendees. WATCH: Chris Martin and NYPD Assistant Chief Kathleen O'Reilly explain that a fence barrier collapsed at #GlobalCitizen Festival; there were no shots fired: “You're all safe.” pic.twitter.com/wiAbyMVjqh — MSNBC (@MSNBC) September 29, 2018 “Everybody relax, calm down,” she said. “It was a barrier collapse. There was no shots fired. Hopefully the show is going to go on. We just have to reassess the situation and try and create a new safety lane. We’re going to have to try our best.” Global Citizen later tweeted out that there were a few injuries caused by those running away, etc, but the show would go on. Thank you to all the Global Citizens who took action and joined us today. Our thoughts are with those who were injured or afraid after the barrier fell earlier this evening. We're grateful for the first responders who ensured everyone's safety and enabled the festival to go on. pic.twitter.com/K03VEpP8FJ — Global Citizen (@GlblCtzn) September 30, 2018 And the show did just that. After some amazing sets from the likes of Cardi B and Janelle Monae, Janet Jackson took the stage–and even brought out Q-Tip out as a surprise guest to perform their classic hit “Got ’til It’s Gone.” The Weeknd ended out the night with an amazing performance, and the rest of the night went off without a hitch.
(Photo by Jason Miller/Getty Images) J.R. Smith Could Face Heavy Fines For New Leg Tattoo A new tattoo that JR Smith got inked on his right calf this offseason could end up costing the Cleveland Cavs guard more than he bargained for. Smith posted on Instagram that the NBA has threatened fines for the Supreme (a New York-based streetwear company logo tat on his calf if he doesn’t cover it up for games during the 2018-19 season. “NBA rules prohibit players from displaying any commercial logos or corporate insignia on their body or in their hair,” said league spokesman Mike Bass. This isn’t the first time the league locked down on players rocking logos. In 2013 the NBA made Iman Shumpert take out the Adidas logo shaved in his hair and also the league ruled that NBA legend Rasheed Wallace could not wear a temporary tattoo of a candy bar company during basketball games. Smith claims he was not compensated for getting the Supreme tattoo. “People were like, ‘Are they paying you for it?’ and I was like, ‘No,’ so they were like, ‘What are you doing it for?’” Smith told Complex in August. “And I was like, ‘That’s who I am. That’s why I am who I am.’ It worked out.”
Source: Dave Kotinsky / Getty After years of frustration and anticipation, Lil Wayne finally dropped Tha Carter V on Friday. Of course, fans made their opinions known on Twitter, but one song in particular is bringing the nostalgia and I’m not talking about 2008 “A Milli” feels. I’m talking way back to 2002 when G. Dep dropped his Bad Boy Records banger “Special Delivery.” Wayne sampled the song on the third track from The Carter V called “Uproar.” “Special Delivery” was released as a single from G. Dep’s debut album Child of the Ghetto. The music video was notable for featuring the popular dance The Harlem Shake. Kids from the clip showed off their shoulder action and soon a dance that was once known as a New York style was spread across the world. When listeners heard Lil Wayne’s “Uproar” they couldn’t help but take it back to the early 2000s. An #UproarChallenge even started gaining traction on social media. Just take it from @based_soc on Instagram. G. Dep had previously featured the dance in the music video for his debut single “Let’s Get It,” but with “Special Delivery” the moves were cemented in music culture. Artists were using the dance left and right for their music videos or performances, including Bow Wow for his 2002 music video “Take Ya Home.” Years later, The Harlem Shake would surge in popularity again, but unfortunately it was due to the electronic music producer Baauer , and the dance that came from his song had nothing to do with the moves from Harlem. The backlash from Harlem and people familiar with the original dance caused the media to revisit the history of the moves. According to DNAinfo.com , The Harlem Shake was created back in the 1980s by a Harlem resident named Albert Leopold Boyce a.k.a. “Al B.” According to his mom, Al B. would perform the dance at the Entertainer’s Basketball Classic tournament in Harlem’s Rucker Park. Ironically, Al B. had an alcohol problem, so his gyrating moves that would become known as The Harlem Shake probably had something to do with his public intoxication. But no matter how the dance came about, the community took hold of the moves dubbing it the “Al B.” Decades later, shakers around the world are re-inspired thanks to Wayne’s “Uproar.” Hit the next pages to check out more dancers showing off their revived Harlem Shake!
