Courtney Robertson, the controversial finalist on The Bachelor, has shocked more than just fans by trying on wedding dresses in Beverly Hills on Wednesday. Nicki Sterling, who was eliminated this week, is beside herself as well. Sterling is “positively shocked” by the photos, and the implication that Robertson, a season-long source of Bachelor drama will get Ben Flajnik’s final rose. “I’d have to chew on that for a while,” Sterling tells People . “I don’t even know. I’m kind of shocked right now. I’m sorry, wow, my mouth is open right now.” There’s always the possibility that the attention-loving Courtney Robertson was merely putting on a publicity stunt of sorts. Or maybe she was “modeling”! “I would hope and pray that is not the case,” Sterling says of a possible stunt by Court. “There are no words to describe how horrible that would be.” “I mean, somebody’s heart is on the line.” “Not just somebody’s, but Ben who I care deeply about. I cannot believe anybody – even as manipulative as Courtney – would take it that far. I would hope not.” Only time (and perhaps some more hinting on Court’s part, or The Bachelor spoilers if you’re into that sort of thing and believe them) will tell.

She’s great, so why don’t I help her get out of Canada? @alexqte : Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Bieber : I see myself acting. I have some ideas right now I’m working on. This week’s Hobnobbing explains the film’s pre-release numbers. By Amy Wilkinson Jennifer Lawrence in “Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate Fans of Suzanne Collins’ dystopian teen drama ” The Hunger Games ” have long predicted that the series’ big-screen adaptation would emerge victorious from its box-office battle. And now, it seems, preliminary estimates support the stan speculation. Deadline reports that the early tracking figures for the March 23 release are “numbers every film studio can only dream about,” with 23 percent of respondents selecting the film as “First Choice” and 54 percent indicating “Definite Interest.” In fact, one estimate Deadline editor Nikki Finke received predicted the film could open to more than $70 million — narrowly besting the “Twilight” opening-weekend gross of $69.6 million. All good news for fans fretting over the series’ fate … but what do these numbers really mean? Tracking, in essence, measures the results of a studio’s marketing campaign and is by no means an exact science. “The real use of tracking is to measure the effectiveness of the marketing weeks out from release, so you can make adjustments while there’s still time,” Vinny Bruzzese, president of the worldwide motion-picture tracking firm OTX, told TheWrap as part of an interesting piece examining the practice. “By the time the official prediction comes out on the day of the release, it’s fairly useless.” Clearly, Lionsgate’s clever campaigns (including Capitol Couture , puzzle scavenger hunts and advanced screening giveaways) have resonated with fans and non-fans alike, gaining plenty of exposure for the fledgling franchise. However, we must remember that tracking is not necessarily meant to prognosticate box-office returns (TheWrap’s story calls such predictions nothing more than “parlor tricks”). For argument’s sake, however, let’s say that “The Hunger Games” does indeed meet its $70 million expectations. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told Bloomberg that the debut installment would need to earn $100 million in overall domestic sales to justify a sequel. With a potential $70 million opening weekend, the film would need to gross only $30 million more to reach that benchmark. And unless attendance drops off as steeply as the Arena’s cliff, it will prevail, all but guaranteeing “Catching Fire” will, well, catch fire. Soul songstress Mary J. Blige candidly spoke about not only her feelings about Whitney Houston’s death, but about her own former drug demons as she sat in for Whoopie Goldberg on Tuesday’s ABC-TV’s talk show ‘The View.’ Blige, who is known for not holding her tongue when it comes to speaking her mind, reflected on the recent passing of Houston, who had been a great influence in her life. Blige admitted that she never attends funerals because she was traumatized by them as a child but felt compelled to go to Houston’s because they were so close: “This was really sad because Whitney was everything to women like us,” she lamented. Blige even divulged a conversation that she had with Houston about how important she was to the world. “I got a chance to express to [Whitney] what I felt about her and how I didn’t like seeing her like that.” Blige was referring to Houston’s much publicized battles with drug addiction. The 41-year-old singer, songwriter has in the past, discussed in detail her struggles with cocaine and alcohol. Blige told her co-hosts, Barbara Walters , Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar , how she almost died from her drug habit. The actress and fragrance entrepreneur who admitted, “I’ve never done crack,” said her self-destructive lifestyle was formed by the role models she had as a child. “In my family, as a child, all we saw was people getting drunk.” Rehab was not an option for Blige, who instead says that she gave her life to God to help get her off drugs and liquor because she almost died. Discovery News reports that Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest has distributed 55,000 condoms around local colleges and universities that feature implanted QR codes, which track when and where people have sex. The reported data is stored on a website called WhereDidYouWearIt.com , all in the name of public health, of course. The way it works is each condom has a barcode which the user can scan with their Smartphone to upload their location as well as general details of their sexual experience (anonymously). A rep for Planned Parenthood said: “Condoms are an essential tool in preventing unintended pregnancy and stopping the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV… We hope the site promotes discussions within relationships about condoms and helps to remove perceived stigmas that some people may have about condom use. Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter-rapper Cee-Lo Green has signed with Grand Central Publishing to publish his memoir next year. The as-yet untitled book will “tell the personal and candid story of how he found his voice as an artist and a showman.” Mediabistro.com says that fellow Goodie Mob member Big Gipp and Rolling Stone reporter David Wild will also aid with the project. In a statement, Atlanta-native Cee-Lo said about the release: “After reading my book, there will be no doubt that I am meant to be. You will enter into the supernatural, the surreal, and extraordinary. As CeeLo Green, a.k.a. ‘everybody’s brother,’ I will make you a believer. Singer Billie Joe Armstrong promises that their ninth studio album will ‘blow minds.’ By Gil Kaufman Green Day Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Green Day have covered a lot of topics over the years: politics, war, greed, depression, boredom and the mind-numbing spiral of drug addiction. But carnal knowledge? Not so much. According to a YouTube video posted by the group chronicling the sessions for their upcoming ninth studio album , that will be remedied in the near future. Of course, Green Day being Green Day, they didn’t put it quite as delicately as all that. “I’m just trying to think of how we can make people feel more attached … as attached to this record as we feel,” says an unseen questioner (who sounds exactly like bassist Mike Dirnt) in the recently posted 35-second clip, which features scenes of Dirnt skateboarding and playing ping-pong. “I think it’s so personal and it is so voyeuristic,” replies singer Billie Joe Armstrong, shown adjusting levels at a mixing board. “And it is … this is the first time we’ve ever really sung about f—ing.” And there you (bluntly) have it. Green Day are opening the door to their hearts by singing about the oldest topic there is in rock and roll. The thing, you know, that actually gave rock and roll its name. But still, Dirnt wonders if even that’s enough. “I know, but it’s that daunting … they’re gonna get, ugh … you can sit there and hold the record, look at a piece of art. ‘Here you go, come on in even further,’ ” he says. “The songs are gonna f—ing blow their minds.” Armstrong tries to assuage his concerns, saying, “You’re taking it personal. You’re taking it way too personal.” Either way, the as-yet-untitled album is shaping up to be a big step away from the group’s two lauded recent efforts, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, both of which were concept albums about the ills of modern society and Bush-era paranoia. A February 14 post from Armstrong strongly signaled that the album would tackle all things carnal. “Happy Valentine’s Day!” he tweeted . “Officially started recording the new record today. But when you’re Justin Bieber , you get shouts from Usher, Lil Wayne and Sean Kingston. Be jealous! On Thursday (March 1), the Biebs turned 18 years old, and his most famous of friends hooked up with MTV News to celebrate Bieber’s birthday . “I hope that you are around all of your loved ones and having a good time. This is from big bro, from the heart,” Usher said in a video piece compiled by MTV News for the Biebs. The Confessions singer initially signed Justin along with his manager Scooter Braun, and he has since become a mentor to the pop star. So of course the 33-year-old Usher had to impart some b-day wisdom on his young homey. “Eighteen will give you an opportunity to do a little bit, not all, so we got a few more years before you can go all the way,” he said, acknowledging the three years until JB turns 21 and is allowed to legally drink in the U.S. “Maybe I might even be able to sneak you into a club. Anyway dawg, happy birthday. I love you.” Comedian Kevin Hart isn’t buying all of Justin’s birthday hype, though. “Whatever Justin Bieber is supposed to be doing at 18, he was doing at 15,” he joked after sending his well wish. Platinum hitmakers RedFoo, B.o.B, Sean Kingston and Flo Rida all helped MTV News celebrate the occasion. Even Lil Wayne, who was with Bieber in the studio in February, sent a special message. “Happy Birthday, slime, the big one-eight. You in the club, slime,” Weezy said, standing beside Young Money’s Lil Chuckee. As far as birthday presents go, it’s anybody’s guess what his buddies will actually get Bieber. But Robin Thicke bypassed tradition and instead hit up the “Never Say Never” singer for a loan. “Send me some money, Justin. You got way too much,” he said, laughing. Police are investigating the murder of a man who was apparently shot in front of Rick Ross ‘ house in Miami. According to TMZ : Law enforcement sources tell us … Ross was NOT home at the time of the shooting and at this point in the investigation, he’s not considered a suspect. Investigators, however, do want to know if the man had a relationship with Rick Ross and plan on questioning him on that matter. After all, it was his property. No official comment from Rick Ross.
