TMZ reports that whip-its were behind actress’ health scare, while People says friends have been worried about Moore for a while. By Katie Byrne Demi Moore Photo: Jason Kempin/ Getty Images While the many reported reasons for Demi Moore’s recent hospitalization have varied from exhaustion to substance abuse, TMZ is now saying nitrous oxide was behind the health scare. According to the website, friends who were on the scene the night of the hospitalization told EMTs the actress was inhaling nitrous oxide from aerosol cans — also known as whip-its — before 911 was called. TMZ’s sources said the actress was exhibiting seizure-like symptoms after inhaling the nitrous. Demi’s hospitalization caps a rough patch for the actress. People magazine also talked to sources close to Moore, who said they’ve been worried about their friend for quite some time. “Really, it was over the last year her friends saw a change,” one source said about her split from husband Ashton Kutcher. “She wasn’t sleeping as well, didn’t seem to be eating and looked really gaunt.” Another source told the mag that Moore’s recent prescription-drug abuse was a factor in the end of her marriage. “It was a sticking point for Ashton,” the source said. “He wanted her to take care of herself and get a hold of things, and she wouldn’t.” Check out photos of Demi and Ashton from happier times. Moore endured a very public and emotional split from Kutcher back in November, publicly announcing the breakup with “sadness and a heavy heart” after months of not-so-quiet rumblings that her husband had been unfaithful. While it was announced earlier this month that Moore would star as feminist icon Gloria Steinem in the upcoming film “Lovelace,” her rep said the setback in her health would prevent her from working on the project. ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ actor Oscar Isaac has been recording music with Timberlake for the ’60s folk flick. By Jocelyn Vena “W.E.” star Oscar Isaac is deep in musical preparations for the next Coen Brothers film, “Inside Llewyn Davis,” in which he’ll play the title character. In a couple weeks, Isaac and his castmates, including Justin Timberlake , Carey Mulligan and Garrett Hedlund, will be on set, but until then they are in the recording studio putting the finishing touches on the film’s musical elements. “Right now I’m gearing up for the Coen Brothers film, which is all music based,” he told MTV News at the New York premiere of the Madonna-directed “W.E.” “So that’s actually taking up a lot of the musical creative energy. So excited.” Isaac, much like his co-stars, has dabbled in music, having put off recording his own music to focus on the film. And with some assistance from some big-name musical heavyweights, the music is destined to shine. The actor said the cast is currently in the studio with Timberlake, the Punch Brothers, T-Bone Burnett and Mulligan’s fianc
Sundance represents an opportunity to ‘[push] forward with Common as an actor and as a producer,’ the rapper tells MTV News. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Common at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Photo: Jemal Countess/Getty Images PARK CITY, Utah — When you’re making your debut as a producer and lead actor in a feature film, it doesn’t hurt to surround yourself with stellar actors like Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton, Dennis Haysbert and Michael K. Williams. With talent like that on your side, it’s nearly impossible not to produce good work. That’s Common ‘s hope, at least. The rapper/actor makes his first turn as a leading man in a feature film in “LUV,” the Sundance Film Festival drama about an ex-con who leaves prison and strives to mentor his troubled nephew upon release. The film represents a lot of firsts for Common: It’s his first starring role and it’s the first movie he’s ever acted in and produced to appear at Sundance. “This is something that is me,” Common told MTV News at the fest. “And it’s a part of what I want to do pushing forward with Common as an actor and as a producer.” The Chicago MC is no stranger to appearing onscreen, of course. He’s had memorable roles in movies like “Wanted” and “Terminator Salvation,” and he stars on the AMC western “Hell on Wheels.” But this is Common’s first time in an independent movie, and the differences between the indie world and the studio system became abundantly clear to him very early on. “Things are just different. But what’s still cool about it is you’re really using your artistic creativity to come together and make the best thing, because you don’t have that many resources,” he said. “You don’t have the bigger budgets, you don’t have the things that [studio films have]. You need to use total creativity to make things rise. “So this is a first for me — and it’s a great first,” he added. The 2012 Sundance Film Festival is officially under way, and the MTV Movies team is on the ground reporting on the hottest stars and the movies everyone will be talking about in the year to come. Keep it locked with MTV Movies for everything there is to know about Sundance. My name is Aaliyah, I am 12 years old and I am from New Jersey. My Bieber Experience was in April 2010. It all happened when I heard about a My World 2.0 Buyout in New York City at Borders. I was with my cousin Danyelle because we were both searching on Twitter looking for details and stuff. Traffic was terrible so we got there a little late. We got our navigation to the spot where the HUGE crowd of Beliebers were. When we were walking by people, they thought it was a class trip. Once we got to borders, it was crazy. They told us if we didn’t calm down, Justin wouldn’t come. We calmed down quickly because of course we wanted Bieber. I was just shaking, and walking in circles. I heard a lot of screaming and since I’m so small I really couldn’t see anything which sucked. I heard Scooter ‘s voice and I was getting more excited. I was jumping up and down, and the crowd got louder again. Once everyone/everything was calm, Justin went into the store and took some pictures. He came out, and it got crazy again. We had to separate into 2 groups to take one big photo with Justin , which you can see in the photo. I was in the first group. (Please don’t make fun of me for wearing a Jacob Black shirt). Scooter had to take the picture and he used someone’s camera. At first, I was ALL the way in the back of the crowd, you couldn’t see me at all. I ran to the end and smiled quickly. I really could have gone in front of Justin, but Scooter was literally about to take the picture. At least i got in it. So after the photo, I ran across to my cousin. I turned around and just looked at him. He was perfect, his hair was just flawless. Once I saw him do the hair flip, oh gosh I died inside. I went into the other group so I can get a second picture, but then I knew that wasn’t the right thing to do because I already got my picture. I stepped out, and just waited for them to be done. After the photos were done, Justin had to leave because he had to go rehearse for SNL. He actually got in a cab and left. I really didn’t want the day to end because it was just amazing. I may not have TALKED to him, but I was at least 10 feet away from him. But I’m not done yet. We heard alot of talking from behind us and saw a little crowd gathered around. I never even KNEW Scooter was still there. Then him and Carin had to leaave. I yelled ” BYE SCOOTER!! ” and he quickly turned around, waved and said bye. -@BieberAchieve/@BieberRauhlin Go here to read the rest: My name is Aaliyah, I am 12 years old and I am from New Jersey….
Singer opens up about his split from supermodel wife as he promotes his album Soul 2. By Jocelyn Vena As Seal preps the release of his album, Soul 2, he isn’t shying away from answering questions about his split from supermodel wife Heidi Klum . In two new interviews, the singer opens up about the breakup. “I think we were shocked,” Seal said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in an episode airing Tuesday (January 24). “You go into these things with the greatest intentions when you say ‘I do’ and you say ‘Till death do us part.’ Those vows hold value. They are not just words. These things happen. We pretty much said how we feel and made it clear in the release statement.” With regard to the fact that he’s still wearing his wedding ring, Seal added, “I think it’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years, eight wonderful years together. Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. “We will be connected in many ways till the rest of our lives … through our children and also through this tremendous admiration, respect and love that we have for each other,” he continued. “Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand, so I have intentions of taking it off anytime soon.” In another interview for the PBS chat show “Tavis Smiley,” set to air on Friday, Seal continues to gush about his ex, and notes that the couple are hardly the first to have a much-publicized split. “In terms of our love and respect for each other, it hasn’t changed at all,” he says. “When two people feel that way about each other, it is easy — it is easier to make that transition. What one has to do in this situation is remain civil and to retain one’s dignity and to be professional and to understand that we are not the only people on this planet that go through this,” he said. “It is just unfortunately a chapter of life.” Were you surprised to hear that Heidi and Seal are splitting?
