Source: Jason LaVeris / Getty Jussie Smollett gave his first interview to the media about his racist and homophobic attack , sitting down with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts on Thursday . The “Empire” actor attempted to clear up those pesky rumors that he made up the “MAGA” details behind his attack. He stressed that his critics don’t believe the truth , because they “don’t even want to see the truth.” “What is it that has you so angry? Is it the attackers?” Roberts asked. “It’s the attackers but it’s also the attacks,” Smollett said. “At first it was a thing of like, ‘Listen, if I tell the truth, then that’s it, cause it’s the truth,’” the singer said. “Then it became a thing of like, ‘Oh, how can you doubt that? Like how do you not believe that? It’s the truth.’ And then it became a thing like, ‘Oh, it’s not necessarily that you don’t believe that this is the truth. You don’t even want to see the truth.’” “I think people need to hear the truth,” he said. Adding, “Cause everybody has their own idea. Some are healing and some are hurtful, but I just want young people, young members of the LGBTQ community — young, black children — to know how strong that they are.” The 36-year-old singer also doubled down on the validity of his story, stressing that he knows what he heard the assailants scream at him. “I didn’t need to add anything like that. They called me a f*****, they called me a n*****. There’s no which way you cut it. I don’t need some MAGA hat as the cherry on some racist sundae.” “I could only go off their words,” the actor said of the motivation. “I mean, who says, ‘f***** ‘Empire’ n*****, this is MAGA country,’ ties a noose around your neck and pours bleach on you? And this is just a friendly fight?” Smollett later explained his hesitation in turning his phone over to officials, who wanted him “to give my phone to the tech for three to four hours.” He continued: “I’m sorry but — I’m not gonna do that. Because I have private pictures and videos and numbers: my partner’s number, my family’s number, my castmate’s number, my friends’ numbers, my private emails, my private songs, my private voice memos.” As we previously reported , on Jan 29, Jussie was reportedly attacked by MAGA supporters, in Chicago, who brutally beat him and left him with a fractured rib before putting a noose around his neck and pouring bleach on him, TMZ reports. He was treated at Northwestern Memorial before being discharged. Smollett was reportedly walking out the subway at around 2am when two men, wearing ski-masks approached him and asked, “Aren’t you that fa**ot ‘Empire’ n*gga?” The culprits reportedly yelled, “This is MAGA country” during the attack. Days before the incident (which is being investigated as a hate crime), a threatening letter addressed to Jussie Smollett was sent to Fox Studios Chicago with the words, “You will die black f**.” Chicago Police have released surveillance footage of two persons of interest who are wanted in connection with the brutal and possible hate crime committed against Jussie Smollett. Meanwhile CNN is reporting that CPD are questioning two people for the actor’s attack. “These individuals are not yet suspects but were in (the) area of concern and are being questioned,” police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Thursday in a tweet. “Investigation continues.” “The people of interest are alleged to be in the area where a crime was reported,” Guglielmi said in a subsequent tweet. “They are not considered suspects at this time as they are currently being questioned by detectives. Through s meticulous investigation, #ChicahoPolice detectives have identified the persons of interest in the area of the alleged attack of the Empire cast member. For a family that gained fame from sex tapes and reality shows, the Kardashians have a lot of secrets. It’s a testament to Kris Jenner’s prowess as a media puppet master that the family has been able to keep anything private, especially in cases where the truth is right under our nose. Or more accurately, on top of Kim’s nose. Yes, for years, there have questions about how much plastic surgery Kim has undergone. While she’s copped to the occasional fillers and “maintenance” work, the 38-year-old has mostly avoided questions about major procedures. Her silence on the subject is just one of the reasons that everyone assumed Kim got a nose job . The other reason is that Kim very obviously got a nose job. But remarkably, this week, Kim finally opened up on the subject of her nose, and — we can’t believe we’re about to type these words — she claims it’s never been touched by a surgeon. “I never had my nose done,” she explained during a Master Class event with makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. “Everyone thought I did, and I said wait until I have kids because your real features come out.” Kim attributes the change in her appearance to masterful contouring. “Pictures, I swear, I look at them and would be like, ‘Wow the bump looks so much bigger in some pictures than in others,'” she said. “I always want to get my nose done,” she confessed. “I went to the doctor, I had them take the pictures, he showed me what it would look like and it just didn’t … I wouldn’t look the same.” We suppose it’s possible that she’s telling the truth, but this is a bit like finding out that the moon landing was fake or O.J. is actually innocent. Kim has spoken extensively about her nose over the years, but she’s always been evasive on the question of whether or not she went under the knife. “Hated it,” she told Wonderland magazine, in 1996. “Now I love that it makes me look more ethnic.” She conceded that her schnoz “looks smaller” than it used to, but suggested that “maybe it’s the contour I use.” Yeah … that could be. Just like how Kylie used lip liner to magically achieve that trout-pout look. View Slideshow: Kardashians Talk Tristan, Kris (Humphries!), Kanye and More!
Source: Rockstar Games / Red Dead Online Beta Rockstar Games right now is basking in the success of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the steady but cautious rollout of Red Dead Online beta. Listening to feedback from gamers, the studio is rolling out a massive update that aims to tackle some of the online component’s most significant issues. While it did not stumble out the gate like Grand Theft Auto Online , Red Dead Online had a much smoother introduction but has suffered from some in-game issues since its November launch . Players were quick to point out the lack of missions, problems with the in-game economy and players hell bent on just being destructive trolls in the game or as some describe it “grieving.” To combat those issues, Rockstar announced a massive update coming February 26 that will hopefully improve Red Dead Online . New features and more coming to the Red Dead Online Beta on Feb 26th with new improvements and enhancements to the game’s open world, including a new Law and Bounty system, weapons balancing, changes to player blips on the mini-map and more. https://t.co/MOSaXStj7m pic.twitter.com/huXgpk4Dcd — Rockstar Games (@RockstarGames) February 12, 2019 First, we will focus on “grieving” and how that main issue alone took the fun out of Red Dead Online . Being a Black gamer, of course, my character in the game reflects that. The minute my created character stepped foot in the digital Wild West I was greeted with racial slurs and regularly killed and chased down by white players. Now don’t get me wrong I’ve experienced racism while gaming before but when you play Red Dead Online it just feels too real,. In speaking with The Verge’s Patricia Hernandez who wrote a piece about Black players enduring racist nonsense myself others detailed our experiences within the game. “I remember a player actually saying ‘get that nigger’ with a Western twang to his voice,” Smalls says. “It was like they felt they have the perfect game to do so.” I would dread playing the game alone opting to only hop on with friends in hopes to deter trolls from aggressively targeting me. Now the game does allow you to initiate a parlay with that person who is hellbent on killing you, but Rockstar will take things even further. The upcoming update will now reduce your visibility or blip over long distances only revealing your location on the map to players within 150 meters of you. Your position will only be shown if you’re firing your weapon. This new feature aims to stop people from continually targeting you from long distances. Now if you are one of those players who like to cause trouble on the regular the new system will highlight your over-aggressive play by darkening your dot on the map. The only way to make your visibility fade is by good behavior but if you keep killing innocent players and horses a bounty will be placed on your head, and NPC bounty hunters will track you down this also another new feature coming with the update. Another much-needed improvement is the ability to parlay with an entire posse because of course trolls run in gangs. Last but not least there some bug fixes and minor improvements as well as the introduction of daily challenges such as foraging for herbs, selling items at a Fence, hunting, and skinning animals, clearing hideouts, winning feuds and so much more that will reward players with gold nuggets and XP. Rockstar says it will continue to expand and evolve the challenges over time. This sounds like a step in the right direction, and I personally applaud Rockstar for listening and taking some sort of action to make Red Dead Online fun for EVERYONE. — Photo: Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2
Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty Somehow foolishness continues to seep into Black History Month, but this time it’s by our own — now removed. Los Angeles Chargers player Jahleel Addae was proudly filmed by his white fiancée Lindsey Nelson toasting to “light skin kids” among a group of swirl friends. Might I add, there wasn’t a sista in sight. The video above was initially posted to Nelson’s Instagram story with the caption reading “Cheers to more light skin kids” in case their ovation wasn’t audible enough. Addae, who is Ghanian-American, is currently being dragged by Twitter and subsequently left the chat, as his Instagram account is now private. Now, for those who want to go on a love-whoever-you-want tangent, please note, the issue isn’t that he’s engaged to a white woman, it’s the underlying reasons indicated by his praise for a potential “light skin baby” (because being mixed doesn’t automatically equal a fair complexion) showcasing an inherent hate toward his own dark skin. Then there’s also those truth-telling Tweets unearthed on Twitter. But everything was considered a joke #NFL #chargers #JahleelAddae #SportsCenter obviously from these previous tweets he has a problem pic.twitter.com/S0BbKMIvw2 — Belida Hernandez (@colombianwynter) February 11, 2019 One user questioned how his female family members feel about his comment? #JahleelAddae family photo. #addae #African #Ghana pic.twitter.com/3Gon2M3brW — Hero Serena (@SwampSipper) February 11, 2019 Others questioned the validity of his engagement? 90 Day Fiance star Anfisa Nava is ready for the next chapter of her life. One that is much more challenging and physically demanding than finding her love at first ‘like’ . After finding her match made in heaven TLC, Anfisa needed another project to focus on, so she is shifting to bodybuilding. On Monday, February 11 she took to Instagram to share an overblown before and after body transformation photo, and she definitely took an impressive turn. According to Us Weekly , she started by sharing a slide of her thong-clad butt in front of the camera inviting fans to scroll through her transformation. The second pic shared a full-length photo of her body in a one-piece teal bathing suit next to a current photo of her in a teal bikini. “Which do you prefer,” she asked her followers, “before or after?” And while the before photo shows an also sexy Anfisa, which was taken just a year ago after she moved to the US from Russia, the after picture shows her noticeably slimmer and extremely muscular. Fans have been following her weight loss ride since December 2018 when the Moscow native first shared photos of her “toned arms and legs and six-pack abs,” according to US . She announced on Instagram that her weight loss was actually coming from her strength-training hobby. The reality star became interested in fitness after husband, Jorge Nava, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison after being caught with 293 pounds of marijuana. ( what?) “To fill the void that I felt after Jorge was sentenced and I was left on my own I decided to try to stay busy and do what I enjoy the most and it was working out,” she explained via social media. “And ONE DAY I want to take it on a higher level and compete in NPC bikini division.” Telling from her already successful journey it seems as though her fantasy could easily become her reality. There aren’t many of Anfisa’s before photos on her Instagram according to US , because as she noted in February, she doesn’t like to post “unflattering photos” from her so-called “thic” times. And I’m sure most of the world can agree that her “thic” times are far from unflattering. But at least we know she isn’t leaning on photoshop to falsely create her desired figure. The 90 Day Fiance alum strives to show that muscles, in fact, are feminine. And to all the people who say “lifting makes you look manly.” She fights back by sharing a lacy lingerie photo where she captioned it: “k.” The gym enthusiast also partners with detox tea company, Teami, which she claims was the cure to her bloating and even helped construct her six-pack. “I’ve found a new passion for working out and eating healthy,” she wrote on December 2018 while showing off her abs and advertising the healthful tea. Like most Insta famous users, Anfisa has had her share of online trolls. But she wasn’t scared to confront them by saying “it feels frustrating when some of you try to knock me down for doing what I love and enjoy.” “So if you don’t want to see anything other than #90DayFiance related stuff and you want to keep commenting nasty things under my pictures, please unfollow me and move on.” The gym guru is not messing around and she’s got the muscles to back up her voice. Along with a small waist? Anfisa revealed that she never tells people what she eats and when asked what diet helped her to lose weight, she responded with a very practical response. Recommending her fans to take an at-home blood test to determine which foods your body is intolerant to. But, she does share a few secrets. Side salad and juice is always on her menu, as she showed in her August 9 Instagram photo. She’s also shared that she uses the HelloFresh meal delivery service. Along with eating salads, two of her favorite exercise routines include yoga and weight-lifting. Not only has Anfisa transformed her body image through her passion for fitness, but she has also created a new healthy lifestyle. And it looks as though she is truly living her best life.
