Britney Spears Lip-Syncing Video: Singer Busted AGAIN in Vegas!

Lip-syncing rumors continue to dog Britney Spears. After a rash of reports circulated that Brit wasn’t singing live when she kicked off her Las Vegas residency late last year, a new video has gone viral. The clip shows a Britney Spears wardrobe malfunction of the technical sort, as her mic pack flew off of her waistband, pulling her earpiece away from her mouth. Of course, her vocals didn’t change AT ALL. Watch: Britney Spears Lip-Sync Video Commenters on Instagram were quick to call her out. “#Lipsyncforyourlife” @andres_santana_ wrote. Another commented, “Playback or nothing!” Britney Spears lip syncing accounts are not new, or surprising, but before “Piece of Me” residency began, her reps were insisting she would be singing live. “Britney Spears will be singing live during her show (and) she will not be ‘lip-synching,’” her rep said, while Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph was quoted as saying: “There might be some numbers where she’s full out dancing with a (vocal) track underneath her, but there won’t be any lip-syncing across the board on anything.” So much for that. Last fall, reports also surfaced that Spears leaned heavily on backing vocals from Myah Marie for her song, “Perfume,” though her rep shot down that gossip. Still, the more this keeps happening, does it make you less likely to take Britney seriously as an artist? Or is the Vegas show proof positive that it matters not? Do you think Spears is lip-syncing on stage, and do you care? What’s your favorite weird a$$ Britney live moment (below)? Shots Fired: Gun Advocates Want Piers Morgan Deported Back To Merry Old England “For Attacking 2nd Amendment”

Gun supporters ain’t too happy with Piers Morgan … Gun Advocates Want Piers Morgan Deported Via RadarOnline reports: Critics of the Surrey, England native are up in arms over his comments about gun control and they’ve started a petition to have the CNN host deported from the United States. As RadarOnline.com reported, Morgan came out with guns blazing Tuesday night when he repeatedly clashed with a gun proponent who advocated allowing teachers to carry weapons in the classroom in wake of the school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. At one point, the outspoken Brit said to his guest: “You’re an unbelievably stupid man, aren’t you?” Now pro-gun advocates are firing back, by launching an effort to send the Piers Morgan Tonight anchor packing. Their petition, which has been submitted on a White House website, had 23,983 signatures on Sunday afternoon, just short of the 25,000 needed before the White House is required to address the petition. The deport Morgan petition reads: “British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.” But 47-year-old Morgan is taking it all in stride. He tweeted: ‘Ironic U.S. gun rights campaign to deport me for ‘attacking 2nd Amendment rights’ – is my opinion not protected under 1st Amendment rights?” He followed it up with a link to the petition, writing: ‘Just 4821 signatures needed to take my deportation petition to the point Obama has to respond. I urge you to sign.’ Morgan even went as far as to retweet one critic’s post and corrected the man’s grammar. ‘It’s ‘your’ > RT @timothy14511: @piersmorgan nothing but a constitution hating commie…go back and stay in YOU’RE country not mine,’ Morgan wrote. Ouch!

How Adam Yauch Made the Greatest Concert Film Ever

Editor’s note: The following piece, originally published by the author at Movie City News , was written after the New York premiere of the Beastie Boys’ concert film Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That! in 2006. The project was one of many films and videos made by the Beasties’ late Adam Yauch under his directorial nom de plume Nathanial Hörnblowér; Movieline today republishes the piece in remembrance. — STV Admittedly, I am not what you would call a Beastie Boys enthusiast. I am not even a casual fan. The depth of my Beasties appreciation runs shallow at best: I like the “Sabotage” video as much as the next guy; “Fight For Your Right” annoys me; the hip-hop clown thing is endearing; and I tend to just take their (many) devotees’ word for it that the trio is rooted in prodigious creative genius. Fine. I  do   watch a lot of movies, however, which is why I feel comfortable assessing the Beastie Boys’  Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That!  as possibly the greatest concert film ever made. A second viewing at last night’s New York premiere confirmed my first impression, and the standing-room-only audience attending the  Museum of the Moving Image -hosted event seemed to share at least some of that judgment. Not that it came out when the Beasties themselves – ”Mike D” Diamond, Adam “Adrock” Horovitz and Adam “MCA” Yauch – joined the crowd for the requisite post-screening chat. “How do you stay in such great shape?” a viewer asked. “As members of a basketball team, we have a very strong work ethic,” Horovitz said. “We have a workout tape we’re gonna be selling,” Yauch said. Diamond spoke up. “Actually, the team, I think, has a  poor   work ethic, and I think everybody needs to talk about that before we get into next season,” he said. “You guys talk about how you want freedom on the court. Show me the stats.” “Also, we rub ourselves down with monkey piss a lot,” Yauch said. That the Beastie Boys never actually got around to discussing how  good   their film is kind of helps define Awesome ‘s transcendent appeal. The movie represents the raucous bastard offspring of goofball stunt and technical experiment; only a band that takes its mission as seriously as the Beasties do could conceive a film  this   determined to  not   take itself seriously. And only the Beastie Boys — whose interactive relationship with their fans manifests itself in multi-angle DVD’s and do-it-yourself remixes — would count on concertgoers to hold them to their own expressionistic standards. Awesome ‘s central gimmick is old news: The band gave 50 fans 50 cameras to record the entirety of its Oct. 9, 2004, concert at Madison Square Garden. “You can rock out, you can do whatever you want,” a producer advises the camerapeople at the beginning of the film. “Just keep shooting. … In 20 years, you’ll be able to look back and say, ‘Awesome; I fuckin’ shot that.’ ” The Beasties combined the crowd footage with that of a small backstage crew, and Yauch went to work. “There were 61 different angles that we were cutting from,” said Yauch, whose other alias, Nathanial Hörnblowér, claims directing credit. “It was all loaded into Final Cut and stacked and we were cutting from that. It was a pretty crazy job. The way we started out was there were actually three different editors who went at it, and they had 20 cameras each, and they each did a cut. We were kind of looking it over and picked some parts that worked. We did a cut from that, and Neal (Usatin, supervising editor) and I stated cutting on top of that, and then spent about a year working on it. It was a good starting place, because it’s pretty hard to start with just, like, a blank canvas and start cutting from nothing when you have that much material.” In the end, Yauch continued,  Awesome   comprises 6,632 cuts – an average of one for every 19 frames. It screens like a pixilated light show, drowning in color and kinesis, putting the “ADD” back in “addled.” Meanwhile, the rich, refined sound defies the visuals’ bootleg ethos. As occasionally challenging as this blend is to watch, it makes for revelatory viewing. No band since Talking Heads has preserved (or even established) such visceral identity while relinquishing this much aesthetic control. But in downplaying posterity for the sake of experience, Awesome sets itself up as the anti- Stop Making Sense , the anti- Last Waltz , the anti- Woodstock , the anti- Gimme Shelter .  Depeche Mode 101  trails a handful of fans on their journey to a landmark emotional event in their lives–DM’s 1988 show at the Rose Bowl — but D.A. Pennebaker’s film captures a sense of a moment more than any real sense of community.  Dave Chappelle’s Block Party   evokes moment and community as sort of a hollow auteur wet dream, with no less a force than Michel Gondry doing little more than pointing and shooting Chappelle’s swan song to swagger. By placing them in the context of a genuine community (and if you have ever been to a sold-out show at the Garden, it is about as communal an atmosphere as 20,000 strangers are likely to find),  Awesome de-mystifies its subjects. A man carts his running camera into the bathroom, while another tapes a concessionaire air-guitarring her way through the opening riff of “Sabotage.” One hapless woman turns her device on her relatively idle section, imploring, “Come on, get excited! We’ll be on the DVD.” Boyfriends shout lyrics in girlfriends’ ears, dances mimic each other. The most powerful stage presence, in fact, belongs to the Beasties’ DJ Mix Master Mike, whose showcases contribute the virtuosic complement to Yauch’s crude explosion of style. That said, for all I lack in Beastie Boys knowledge, their film’s reflection of unhinged New York musical tradition is unmistakable. “That’s the thing with growing up in New York City,” Diamond said Tuesday night. “I think at the time we grew up, it was like hip-hop was evolving, there were incredible punk rock shows, hip-hop shows, reggae shows. Everything was in New York City. And then at the same time, I think even when we started playing shows ourselves–opening up for Run-DMC and LL Cool J and all these bands on tour–we learned so much from them. Being able to study that and everything, that was like…” Horovitz gestured into the audience, “For me personally, I don’t know if I’d be doing this if my brother never played me Jimmy Spicer’s  Super Rhymes ,” he said. “I can name some shows,” Yauch said. “Like when Funky Four Plus One came Downtown?” “Oh, yeah,” Diamond said. “That was definitely a big deal,” Yauch continued. “Slits, PIL, Clash.” “Gang of Four,” Horovitz said, nodding. But are the Beastie Boys a  continuation   of that spirit? That is for their fans to debate, although I should not be so quick to pass the buck – especially considering  Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That ‘s influence, its magic and my slow assimilation into their ranks. For once, at least for me, the Beastie Boys are a sight and sound to behold. This piece was originally published March 29, 2006, at The Reeler, a blog hosted at Movie City News . Follow S.T. On the 23rd of April our dreams came TRUE as Justin arrived in…

On the 23rd of April our dreams came TRUE as Justin arrived in London! The day began at 4:30am where me, Emily and my friend Lindi got ready and tubed into the central London. While at the ITV Studios we met two guys @harrycooke & @lozzypurry, who without, meeting Justin would not of been possible. They suggested we go to Heathrow Airport to wait for Justin’s flight to land, and it was the best decision we could of made. At 10 am, we waited at terminal 5 for Justin, alongside a huge crowd of beliebers. The next few hours were the most tense but exciting hours of our lives! Jeremy exited through the terminal and our hearts raced and our iPhones shook with adrenaline as we were one step closer to meeting Justin. But he was not on the same flight as Jeremy. When I saw Jeremy, my instant reaction was to run to him, even though I felt bad for asking for a photo after his flight. But I knew it was a one in a lifetime chance, so I did, and he was kind enough to allow it even though he was in a rush. The photo was shaken due to my shaking hands from being near him, but I knew then that even if I didn’t get to meet Justin I would of had an amazing experience. We were confused and contemplated heading into the city centre as rumors circulated that Justin had exited through the Windsor suite. But there was something strange about it all and something in us told us to stay and wait for the next flight in from LAX. Then our dream became a reality. As soon as I heard fans screaming I knew the wait was worth it all. I ran under the terminal barrier and luckily got straight behind Justin. I could not believe what was happening. I was shaking and couldn’t help but scream as I was touching Justin, trying so hard to get his attention. Finally he caught my attention and we had a photo and when I looked at it, I could not process what my eyes were seeing. A photo. Of Justin and myself. In my hands. Security and paparazzi made getting close to him so difficult but I had done it. I was standing next to the most flawless, gorgeous person in the world. I had my Twitter account written down on paper that I wanted him to take. Scooter and security needed to escort him to his car so everyone was rushing to get to him before he left, but I got close to him again and gave him that piece of paper, the piece of paper which the paparazzi took a photo of him holding and I was completely love struck . I was one of the luckiest girls in that crowd, I stood right behind him all of the way to his car and my hands were on his shoulders. He was so lovely to everyone, and ever since I met Justin I haven’t stopped thinking about him. His smile in our photo is beautiful! When he got in the car I stood back and tried to fit together what had just happened. I had just met Justin Bieber. And all my emotions came flooding at once, I cried with happiness like I had never done before, I was in shock. Everyone swarmed to the front Justin yet we were lucky enough to be able to round the back of him. Everyone was going crazy, shoving and pushing. All I remember hearing was Justin continuously saying how he wanted to see us all and have photos with us all one at a time. He was so amazing and sweet even after his 10-hour flight , I was in awe of his kindness. I made sure to remain calm the whole time and not to push or shove, and because of this the security helped hold others back while I was able to go in and get a photo. I remember having my hand on Justin’s hand as I was trying to get my photo and just thinking “OMG HIS HAND IS SO SOFT! WHY IS HIS SKIN SO SOFT!” It was just AMAZING!!! It was the best experience of my life! It was more than I could ever expect! We were determined to catch a glimpse of Justin again so caught the tube to his hotel. That tube journey was surreal. We both sat there for 40 or so minutes unable to stop smiling. At his hotel, we waited in the rain for Justin to come outside, but missed him by minutes. Then we heard of the secret location, thanks to Harry and Loz. We jumped in a taxi and headed to the supper club where Justin and his team were. Even though we didn’t see Justin again, we were happy to be in the amazing atmosphere with all the other beliebers, there to support Justin. Lindi however managed to catch Scooter before he entered his car. I saw Kenny and Alfredo walking out and noticed Kenny talking and hugging people so I left my spot and ran to him alone. Although I was unable to talk to him or Alfredo, I did manage to catch Scooter before he got into his car. I asked for a photo and he was more than happy to have one. I was so happy words cannot describe. After taking the photo, Scooter asked me why I was shaking, and the only response I could come up with was “ajdhfjkidsba cause like ahdjjfjfhshbb”. Slightly embarrassing, but I didn’t know what to say, SCOOTER BRAUN WAS TALKING TO ME. Really was the icing on the cake. That day couldn’t of been more incredible! I love Justin and his crew so much! Nothing will ever change that. Thank you so so much Justin, we were only able to travel to London for the one day, and the realization that we both got to meet you has made us the happiest girls alive. Emily found a penny that morning, picked it up and said to herself, “find a penny, pick it up, all day long you’ll have good luck” and we had the most incredible luck being in the right place at the right time with you and meeting you. If you’re reading Justin please follow Emily on Twitter – @emilyrichards_ it was on the piece of paper you took but from her but she’s still waiting for that notification that you are following her. Thank you so much for coming to the UK! You have made both of our dreams come true and we had the best day of our lives. You have made us so happy and so grateful and made us realize that you have to BELIEVE and NEVER SAY NEVER because these dreams DO come true! – Emily and Lindi (@Emilyrichards_ @SwaggaliciousJB) Go here to see the original: On the 23rd of April our dreams came TRUE as Justin arrived in…
