Ke$ha Pokes Fun At Disney In New Funny Or Die Clip

Pop singer plays a dirty Disney princess in online parody. By Jocelyn Vena Ke$ha in Funny or Die’s “Disney’s Princess Ke$ha” video Photo: Funny Or Die Ever wonder what it would be like if Disney gave Ke$ha her very own movie? Well wonder no more, since the folks over at Funny or Die have dreamed up a new Ke$ha-starring satire, “Disney’s Princess Ke$ha.” The clip opens with Ke$ha in a castle bedroom addressing her animated pals, complaining about her alarm clock waking her up. “Oh that clock. What a killjoy,” she says as she stares out of her window in the castle tower. Just as she begins singing a very Disney melody, she proclaims it “gross” and says “f— it,” before kicking off a signature Ke$ha-style tune, complete with her rap-sing style and club-ready beat. “Time to get the day going/ Dress it up to the nines/ Yo, critter crew/ Make Princess Ke$ha look fine,” she sings. “Add a little pinch of magic from my fairy-tale life and off we go.” Then she goes into the chorus: “I’m getting ready so nice / I’m getting customized.” The pop star is later catapulted into the real world. In an alley, she meets up with an animated rat, a pumpkin and a cross-dressing hobo fairy godmother. The rat and pumpkin are transformed into a shopping cart and a man who take off with Ke$ha. This is the singer’s second appearance on the site. Last November she appeared in a clip where she jokingly explained “The Story of the $.” “I used to be Kesha with an S, instead of a dollar sign, and then one year I had my birthday party at Shakey’s Pizza,” she said in the clip. “On the sign, the big sign where they write ‘Happy birthday,’ they replaced the S with a dollar sign. It ruined my life. I wanted to be a CPA, but you know who H&R Block doesn’t hire? People with dollar signs in their name. I pretty much had to be a pop star.” What do you think of Ke$ha’s latest Funny or Die video? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Ke$ha

Eminem And Jay-Z Concerts: Comparing The Ballparks

How do Detroit’s Comerica Park and New York’s Yankee Stadium measure up? By James Montgomery New York’s Yankee Stadium Photo: Dave Gillum/ Diamond Images/ Getty Images On Thursday night, Eminem and Jay-Z will kick off their Home and Home concert series with a pair of shows at Detroit’s Comerica Park. Since he’s representing the home team, Em will headline both Comerica concerts, and when the series switches to New York’s Yankee Stadium on September 12-13, Jay will get top billing. Though we could spend endless hours discussing the two men who made these shows possible, it makes equally as much sense to take a look at the stadiums they’ll be playing in since, like Em and Jay themselves, they’re both icons of their respective cities. The similarities don’t stop there: Both Comerica and Yankee Stadium replaced beloved venues that played host to Major League Baseball for decades (the old Tiger Stadium — then called Navin Field — opened in 1912, and Yankee Stadium took its bow in 1923, as “The House That Ruth Built”). Both were designed by the Kansas City, Missouri, architecture firm Populous. Both have since played host to a World Series and an All-Star Game. And both go to great lengths to pay homage to their respective cities’ heritage and heroes. But those things are all mostly superficial. Because when you get down to the stats, Comerica and Yankee Stadium are about as different as two icons could be — sort of like Eminem and Jay-Z, when you think about it. So with Home and Home about to begin, here’s a look at the two places where Em and Jay will reign supreme: Comerica Park Nicknames : CoPa, Comerica, Comerica National Park (until they moved the fences in) First Opened : April 11, 2000 (the Tigers beat the Seattle Mariners 5-2) Price Tag : $300 million Capacity : 41,782 Dimensions : Left field, 345 feet; left-center, 370 feet; center field, 420 feet; right center, 365 feet; right field, 330 feet Signature Food Item : A coney dog from Leo’s (inside the stadium) or Lafayette Coney Island (outside). Also, since the Tigers are owned by Mike Ilitch — founder of Little Caesars — there is an abundance of pizza on hand too. Key Features : Comerica is certainly the only pro stadium in America to feature not only a carousel, but a Ferris wheel too. There’s also a massive beer hall, a water feature in center field that synchronizes music to spraying fountains (it’s officially called “Liquid Fireworks”), a series of six epic sculptures that pay tribute to Tigers greats Ty Cobb, Charlie Gehringer, Hank Greenberg, Willie Horton, Al Kaline and Hal Newhouser (legendary broadcaster Ernie Harwell is also memorialized with a statue), and, perhaps most notably, eight heroic statues of actual Tigers strategically placed throughout the ballpark. Previous Concert Experience : The Dave Matthews Band were the first act to play Comerica in the summer of 2000. And since then, big names like the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, KISS and Aerosmith have all done the same. Eminem actually played a concert at Comerica in 2005, too, as part of his Anger Management Tour. Yankee Stadium Nicknames : The Stadium, the Bronx Bandbox, the Launching Pad (the ball tends to fly out of the place, if you couldn’t tell) First Opened : April 2, 2009 (a team workout day for fans); first regular-season game was April 16, 2009 (the Yankees lost to the Cleveland Indians 10-2) Price Tag : Somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.5 billion, though some estimates go as high as $2.3 billion. Capacity : 52,325 (including standing room) Dimensions : Left field, 318 feet; left center, 399 feet; center field, 408 feet; right center, 385 feet; right field, 314 feet Signature Food Item : A steak sandwich from Lobel’s (if you can stand the wait), fried pickles from Brother Jimmy’s. There’s lots to eat here, though, strangely, most of the pizza is terrible. Key Features : Aside from the beyond-expensive tickets for seats in the so-called “Legend’s Suite,” probably the grandiose limestone exterior, which matches the exterior of the old Yankee Stadium, or the iconic frieze that lines the upper deck, just like it did during the Babe Ruth days. There’s also the iconic Monument Park in center field, which honors previous Yankees greats, and the massive Great Hall, which does the same. What can we say? The Yankees are big on tradition. Previous Concert Experience : None. The September 12 Home and Home show will be the first show played at the new Yankee Stadium. Share your thoughts about the ballparks in the comments below! Weekday Vegetarian: A Quick and Healthy Vegan Pizza

It used to be that having a pizza meant using toppings that included tomato sauce, pepperoni smothered in lots of mozzerella cheese. Somewhere along the line we realized that you can actually put pretty much anything you like on top of a pizza and people have been making vegetarian pizzas for a long time. So forget about the meats and cheese and make a vegan pizza. … Read the full story on TreeHugger

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Dismisses ‘Fake’ ‘Platitudes’ of Conservative Mount Vernon Statement

Liberal MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Monday mocked the Mount Vernon Statement, a conservative declaration of principles as ” a grandiose fake-parchmenty-looking thing .” The anchor first described the document as endorsing “the rule of law, and individual liberty, and opposing tyranny in the world, and the defense of family, neighborhood, community and faith.” [Audio available here .] Maddow then dismissed, “In other words, such generic ‘I love my mama’ platitudes that even a pinko-Commie-liberal-elite-infidel like me would be happy signing on to all but one paragraph of the whole Mount Vernon Statement.” (At one point, Maddow appeared to be mimicking the tone and voice of the late William F. Buckley.) The left-wing host didn’t explain which paragraph she objected to, perhaps it was the one about “limited government” or “market solutions.” However, if it has caught the ire of MSNBC, conservatives might want to learn more about it. To view the entire document, go here . To see prominent conservatives, including MRC President Brent Bozell, read the Mount Vernon Statement, see a previous NewsBusters blog. A transcript of the segment, which aired at 9:05pm EDT on June 21, follows: RACHEL MADDOW: Republicans have made a bunch of efforts in the last year to nail down exactly what it is they want to tell the American people they stand for. Remember the pizza party that Eric Cantor and Mitt Romney hosted last year? That was supposed to be the kickoff for the Republican Party`s new National Council for a New America. The plan was for Republicans to travel around the country, soliciting ideas from average Americans. Eric Cantor pulled the plug on that big idea last month after holding just one pizza event in the whole year, one little pizza party. And then there was this idea-soliciting effort from House Republicans – Americaspeakingout.com, an online forum for Americans to provide new ideas for the Republican Party platform. As the Associated Press noted this weekend, that effort is also not bearing much fruit for Republicans. If you go to the “Liberty and Freedom” page, for example, right now, you can see that the top suggested ideas are “Please protect my right to play poker,” and “Eliminate `don`t ask, don`t tell.`” Also, “Keep the Republicans out of our bedrooms” and “Ban handguns” and “Drop the idea that we`re a Christian country.” You think the Republican Party is ready to run with those ideas? From Americaspeakingout.com, their big ideas generator? Then there was You Cut, the House Republican project to let the American people literally set the legislative agenda for Republicans. People would vote online on what federal spending programs should be cut, and then House Republicans would propose those cuts, thereby slashing federal spending by 0.017 percent. The anti-spending Cato Institute here ridiculing House Republican for their effort to exchange their own initiative, their own leadership, for a meaningless social media gimmick. Then there was the Mount Vernon Statement, a grandiose fake-parchmenty-looking thing that conservatives signed on to as their statement of Constitutional conservatism for the 21st century, endorsing things like the rule of law, and individual liberty, and opposing tyranny in the world, and the defense of family, neighborhood, community and faith. In other words, such generic “I love my mama” platitudes that even a pinko-Commie-liberal-elite-infidel like me would be happy signing on to all but one paragraph of the whole Mount Vernon Statement. And if I fit into your definition of conservative, your definition of conservative is probably broken. It`s one thing to have the luxury to work out your principles in the abstract, to have your pizza parties and your parchmenty statements that talk about loving America and hating foreign aid or whatever. It`s all well and good until what you want government to do actually gets put to the test, like say when a giant, totally unforeseen catastrophe happens, like what is happening right now in the Gulf — the biggest environmental disaster ever in our country, plainly and inarguably caused by an oil company screwing up. It`s exposed deep rifts and deep disagreements among conservatives, among Republicans, about what to do and why.

Is Energy Literacy Our Biggest Challenge? Confessions of a Coal-Fired Pizza Addict

Image credit: Other Brooks Brother & HowStuffWorks Not long ago I was in New York, and was surprised at the number of restaurants proudly proclaiming that they sold “coal-fired pizza.” Having established that we were, indeed, talking about coal – not charcoal – I found myself outraged that folks could see burning coal in the center of the city, or anywhere for that matter, as a desirable selling point. I mean, what’s wrong with wood? That outrage has been on my mind a lot lately, because as we watch the public fail to grasp the connecti… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Source: Halle Berry Gave the Boot to Gabriel Aubry

Well, this makes a lot more sense. When word first spread last week that Gabriel Aubrey dumped Halle Berry , experts (i.e. the THG staff, our interns and the pizza guy) questioned the model’s sanity. Did he really think he’d find a better looking girfriend?!? Now, though, an insider close to the situation says the break-up took place awhile ago – and Berry was the driving force behind it. “She kicked him out months ago because he wasn’t able to pull his weight in the relationship and she wanted to move on,” a source told People . “They’re very amicable in healthy ways because of their child. Her main concern is for the health and happiness of her daughter.” A rep for the Academy Award winner, meanwhile, confirms that she and Aubry “have been split for some time, but remain friends and committed parents to their daughter.” Aubry himself has released a statement over the weekend saying he’s sad about the break-up, but recognizing Halle as a “special and beautiful” person. She then went out and proved that on Saturday, taking part in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women. Check out photos of Berry at the event, above and below: [Photos: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]
